- Kadir Nelson is an artist unknown to many. But you'll find his work on magazines, albums, posters and postage stamps. Then there are the children's books - more than two dozen of them. Ben Tracy meets the illustrator who counts Norman Rockwell and N.C. Wyeth among his influences - and who explains what happens when his paintbrush starts to sing.
I love this man creativity!.... gives me inspiration!
Breathtaking...and so American, in the best way possible. Several paintings had me in tears.
As a fellow artist myself and a brother of a famous artist Mr. Nelson’s work is inspiring, beautiful, moving... there aren’t enough expletives I can use... AMAZING ARTIST, oh how I wish allot of what he painted was reality... the world would certainly be a better place...
As a fellow artist, man I can't hold your paint brush! Much love and respect!
I love it that is so cool the new yorker
I am a huge baseball fan...If I was wealthy, I would have a collection of his work in my home. I have some art abilities, but nothing in comparison to what he can do. Just seeing his work gives me a lift.
Good one! How could this segment get a thumbs down/dislike!?!? Crazy.
He does such beautiful work!
I want that Jimmy Walker portrait. It captures his coolness perfectly.

😇
He painted for Michael Jackson... Heavy occultic symbolism and dark references in his work. He's very talented and obviously very attuned to the unseen realm.
As a fellow artist, man I can't hold your paint brush! Much love and respect!
