- Do you need to Replace the front strut on the Toyota RAV4 2013 to 2018 but don't know where to start? This video tutorial shows you step-by-step how to do it!
Our Toyota RAV4 (2013 - 2018) manual covers petrol and diesel engines, and includes videos for some of the most common jobs, which you can see here in this playlist. Get the full manual haynes.com/en-us/toyota/rav4/...
What's covered:
Toyota RAV4, 2013-2018
Exclusions:
Does not cover information specific to RAV4 EV (Electric Vehicle ) models
Thanks 🙏
What are the instructions for AWD? Video says 2WD
Two questions:
1. Are there any additional steps if I'm replacing the strut assembly on a 2016 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid XLE? (I'm wondering if the hybrid nature offers any additional complexity).
2. Does Toyota sell a strut assembly (including coil spring)? My impression is they sell the struts and springs separately.
* Front Left KYB SR4418
* Front Right KYB SR4417
* Rear shock KYB 349024 (x2)
@@clifflee8991 Thanks! I've heard good things about KYB struts. A couple of questions:
1. I've heard strut assemblies are generally lower quality than vehicle manufacturer struts and springs. I think this is, in part, due to the springs being lower quality on the assemblies. What's your experience.
2. Are there any additional disconnections - other than what's in the video - I would need to make on our hybrid model RAV4? Or is it exactly the same process?
@@ErikHaanVincent Autozone said KYB is the OEM, and other brands may be lower quality
Incomplete. The strut was never removed and no torque specs are provided for the nut on top of the strut
It comes pre assembled. You shouldn’t have to mess with that
