    I picked up my RAV 4 in the height of COVID. The dealer basically handed me the keys and told me to have fun. You just showed me 3 things about the RAV that I didn't know I had. Thanks!

    Thanks for this, we are picking up a 2020 Rav4 in a couple of days. We already have a number of the features on our Toyota Yaris. With the auto main beam dipping, on the Yaris you don't need to turn the light control to main beam. It does that automatically when you press the switch. The only thing I don't like about the auto braking if you get too close to
    the car in front, is that it brings the brake lights on every time, which could be annoying for drivers behind.

      I was recovering from a right knee injury when I got my 2020 Rav4. I could only drive for 15 minutes before getting cramps, the adaptive cruise control allowed me to drive for an hour without issue. It works down to 20 mph in town too.

  • @johnr1704
    @johnr1704 ปีที่แล้ว +14

    Knew about the features except the rear floor - I too have the rubber mat.
    - LTA is a pain if you live in an area where lines are not well maintained. It works, then doesn't work. Not good if you rely on it. Centering can sometimes bounce you back and forth as well.
    - Adaptive cruise is great - I actually use it quite a bit - but occasionally find myself behind someone doing 5-10 mph under my set point and don't notice that right away, until I see a whole lot of cars passing me. :)
    Thanks for the video, though!

      Lta can suck if going through construction too. Turn it off before you get to the construction area so you don't have to look for a button on a steering wheel!

    • @pbear216
      @pbear216 หลายเดือนก่อน

      LTA just sucks everywhere! It's a gimmick just like almost every other assistance feature on the Rav4. The only worthwhile feature on the Rav4 is adaptive speed control. Auto headlights is buggy as hell, lane keep assist will make sure you crash, and auto braking will get you rear ended

  • @leefortier
    @leefortier ปีที่แล้ว +18

    I use almost all of those features and love them. My 2020 RAV4 lease just came due and I bought the car! One feature that I'm not too keen about is the LED Headlights. You can't swap out better lightbulbs. There are no lightbulbs. You've got LED chips. If one dies you will probably half to change the entire assembly. Check the cost. You won't like it.

    • @okiefoodieking
      @okiefoodieking  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      That’s terrible. Never knew that ! I also do not like that it doesn’t come with LED lights inside. I had to change out all those lights to make it bright on the inside and I love it ! I got another video about that. U should check it out ! Congrats on owning a RAV4!

    • @daveroberts7295

    If you want to use conventional cruise control instead of radar, just hold the cruise control on button down for a couple of seconds until the icon changes then you have the conventional cruise control too. I accidentally found that out on my 2015 Camry. My 2019 RAV4 had it and my 2021 Highlander has that too.

Lift up were the spare tire is an you can see the fittings where it goes and clips it. Put the cover back over spare tire and all it good. Basically, you would want to store the cargo cover when backed seats are down for more room.

It seems like it uses engine breaking as well as the breaks but I don't know if I should trust the system fully to not just ride the brakes. It's hard to tell, might just be better to manually downshift the car to use more engine breaking then breaks and if needed manually break

    One more thing about the back part of the car, we have the rubber piece like in the video, $100 extra bucks, but what I have noticed is that you have to be careful how you load the back up, what I mean is that if you put heavier items in the middle of the back, it has a tendency to have the piece under the rubber mat to spread the area where the carpeted piece sits. So my plan is to use the rubber mat as a template and cut out a 1/2” piece of plywood and sandwich it between the carpeted piece and the rubber mat. I’m hoping this will fix the issue. I have ask the dealer about this and showed them what it does and they have no clue what to do

    If you don’t want your auto stop/start to restart the car roughly, press the brake pedal more and it will be extremely smooth.
