I hope your day is wonderful so far :) Today we are tackling some ugly clothes that I thrifted from ThredUp and we're going to transform them from ugly + unflattering to cute and trendy!! 😍 I 'm seriously so excited to share this video w you guys and I'm sooooo happy with how this turned- the thrift flips and the video, and I really hope you all love it. 💗

Hakuna some vodka is particularly funny because they clearly haven’t thought it through at all- hakuna means “ none “ or “ without” (I.e. the no part of no worries) so it’s pretty much is saying “ no vodka”.

Watching this during a tornado warning in the early am..and I find this very relaxing. And if you get muscle cramps you are probably low on magnesium. You are SO clever with the thrift flips, esp that B+W top!
Thread Up is a time and a half to find the right things but once you find the gems you like it is very rewarding, it is very similar to thrifting in real life expect a lot more clothes. My best tip is searching for brands you know you like, that can help narrow out the early 2000's trash graphic t shirts and patterned legging disaster.

I'm so glad you said some negatives about ThredUp. SO many people partner and rave about what they found, then I go look and its super hit or miss. One of my favorite dresses I own is from there but thats a rare find!
I think if you sewed some black (is it black gingham?) buttons on the skirt like a faux button up skirt it would look so cute! The top actually turned out better than I thought - great job.

I thrifted a very similar bag like gingham dress that I've been saving for a flip but been too intimidated to try as a very new sewer. I really wanted to try it today but was too intimidated so I decided to watch more videos and stumbled across this one and I am SO EXCITED. It has the same ruching(?) at the top that sits kind of awkwardly that I knew had potential but no idea how and was too afraid of messing up. This video was the PERFECT thing to find! Thank you!

I freaking love thredUP and I have gotten soooo many great affordable pieces but I definitely understand the struggle of finding things. I’ve been using ThredUP since 2014 (😂) and what I do is lookup by brand, and definitely use as many filters as possible to find things I’m into. Also if I see something I like, I’ll look at the other items from that same seller! I think searching by brand is definitely most effective!

Hey Jess! Please tell us about those CUTE pearl hoop earrings you have on! Also it’s impressive and very ambitious of you to hem the bottom of your newly cropped France shirt. I’m only 4’11 so I am constantly cutting off the bottom of my T shirts, but I don’t bother to hem them, I just let the bottom edge roll itself up a bit all on its own. Easy peasy and cute. Same for jeans - I gave up hemming them a few years back and just let ‘em fray. If frayed jeans ever go off trend I’m in big trouble but I’ll just rock them anyway 😉 Can’t wait to continue watching this video. Jess, nicely done. You’re right about it being tedious though:) Honestly, Threadup can be a hit or a miss. It does take a long time to find smth or you thought you found smth hehe, only to find out later it wasn’t nice at all. Frankly, I end up returning or donating everything I buy on Threadup. Never again...

Fabric patterns don't always line up with the grain of the fabric which is probably why cutting along the gingham didn't line up. Both flips looked great though!
