I briefly tried my hand at scratch djing in the mid 80s when I got into hip hop or electro back then and although I managed to get some direct drive turntables,Technics SL1200,which cost me a small fortune back then but the mixer although somewhat basic I was using was a Gli and I can always remember the stickers that came in the box which read “I rely on Gli”,thanks for sharing

I’m not to sure mate but I think DJ Cheese used this brand of mixer when he won the DMC Championship in 1986,who coincidentally was the first scratch hip hop DJ I saw at the Town & Country Club in London in either 85 or 86 with his MC’s Word Of Mouth,hard to believe he won the DMC with 3 turntables,just records,no stems,no laptop,no serato etc etc,don’t even think he was really beat matching then either,anyway if you do happen to find one it’ll be interesting to see what you make of it not just that I think they are hard to find aswell
