    Ironically, being hard on yourself and feeling if you're not perfect, you're not safe, is often a symptom of trauma. So saying 'it takes time, and it's messy' can be difficult.

      @@FishareFriendsNotFood972 true. But people often compare their healing process to others. Or in general ppl get lost in comparison. Using the word “messy” isn’t literal.
