@@jmarcella0351 technically he doesn't have access to any and all ram. All computer parts he gets for demos and from Intel are owned by his LTT company. He most likely actually paid for everything in his personal rig which is probably why he did not get new ram. I dont blame him either I would just use the same ram to.

The cable could be the “premium optical fiber cable” that Oculus is supposed to release for the Quest later this year. It’s intended purpose is to wire the Oculus Quest to a pc, so it can operate similarly to the Rift S. It could probably be used in Linus's situation.
EDIT: The replies to my comment suggest that the cable could be from other sources, or may simply be an adapter. I'm only offering my own opinion, so feel free to make your own assumptions. :)
I had the same thought too! It does implement similar technology! I was wondering why the cable itself was blurred, maybe because it was a fibreoptic cable :)

I vaguely remember linus talking about this problem on WAN show a while back. I think he was excited because he received an unidentified package from the company he was harassing for a solution at the time. He definitely named them, I just don't remember, but he never confirmed afterward whether the cable he wanted was inside.

@@DarthJeep it's not usb, it's a fiber optic Thunderbolt 3 cable. It's needed because for his purpose of hiding everything in the closet, he needs a lot of bandwidth for the display and USB accessories and regular copper cables can only go so far

Don't took it for granted but most ICs and highend boards have an ESD prodection circuit built-in. Espacially nowadays.

There is a big difference between 10% memory performance and 10% CPU performance. For most games, neither make a huge difference but for something like ANNO you would probably notice the bump in CPU performance. Extreme RAM isn't worth it imo unless you are going for an overclock record or you have a specialised application for your system.

On the other hand, they often had features that no more expensive motherboard would--I had one once that supported both DDR and DDR2 RAM (albeit not both at the same time), so you could put your crappy old RAM in it when you upgraded, then later upgrade the RAM as well.

@@HPerrin I like Linus, but he does this a lot. I mean, it's his stuff, so it's cool. Anyone else would just drain and refill the loop, then test it. Instead he needed a separate person to hold an expensive graphics card just to make sure water didn't get into sensitive components.
It's just funny to me. It's a shortcut that can bite you in the ass (as it has in the past for him). I'm glad it worked out for him at least. It just made the whole process needlessly complicated.

@@blewyd there was a guy who I think mentioned the leak three months back.the very video jay's 2 cents made his video on. He is the first English speaking TH-cam who reported this. Another German TH-camr also reported on these defective blocks a little before all this. But seems like linus experienced the leak first. He just didn't realize its a design flaw at that time.

I got a old Chinese mouse pad my old friend gave me in 6th grade for my *new* PC now I've had it for a couple of years I recommend u to get a m65 pro mouse though they are very nice and high end

Air cooling and *custom* watercooling are not in the same class.
@@justenkris The thing is, for 99.9% of people, there is only a minor appreciable gain compared to air cooling. In return you gain complexity, cost, and risk to components. It really just isnt worth it

My thoughts precisely, Shadow had to touch everything!!!!!! I also realized he had to hold it for probably at least 30 minutes during the switch out of the boards and the talking..... Which it gets harder overtime... Especially since it didn't look like he could prop his arm on anything. It looked like the table was further back.
