As a moroccan person the oasis pack have made my heart chuckle lol, especially the doors and the tiles are sooooo moroccan it makes me happy i always use the tiles because i love them ❤ i suggest you look the word "riad" or " moroccan house/riad" and you'll have endless options~

Courtyard oasis items are really beautiful, but most people including me simply don't know how to use it bc we don't have experience with this style. I wish instead of like 3 different kits we got one game pack with a middle eastern or Indian inspired vacation (or livable) world
has to be liveable. the vacation world "feature" is just features being taken away now that we can vacation anywhere. Also, India is the most populous country in the world, and I know people from there or who lived there as expats (including myself), but I've never met someone who vacationed there.

It's based on Morocco! So it's technically African although Moroccans are Arabs that moved to Africa. Nonetheless it's gorgeous and I can't wait to personally buy it. 🥹
@@ammiiel Oh I'm sure! I'm American and know some people who would like to visit there, and I'm sure there's plenty of people who go there on vacation even here in the US

I don't blame her lol. When I make builds in the back of my head I'm always trying to be inclusive for people's play styles so even though it would be way easier to just build freely with whatever I always limit my packs and budget.

I'd love to see Kayla go back and decorate this with all the other packs / expansions installed. Surprisingly, there's a ceiling lamp from the Batuu pack that would go really well with the courtyard stuff
Batuu is weirdly good for build/buy. There's the floor tiles, which are great everywhere, plus some things that match desert builds, and a lot of items that match industrial builds.
This. Realistically she might want to try My Wedding Stories. I know, but that's exactly where that Courtyard Oasis kit would suit best, being that it's just a ripoff of Greece and Sicily anyways

I have NEVER seen the courtyard oasis items in-game until this video. They're so beautiful it seems impossible to mix them with anything else. I wish more dlc had roof/platform trims and freizes.
I used the Courtyard Oasis kit for a Library I built in Oasis springs. It helped to look for inspiration images online before I started. The homes in Morocco, where this style is popular, are much different than your typical North American home. Just my piece of advice if anyone else is thinking of trying this.
I love Simsie spending 47,000 on a small house saying it’s so expensive, then there’s my 200,000 small house wondering where I went wrong
Build challenge : build a house using only basegame and journey to Baatu. Can be a star wars theme, but i think it'd be pretty funny either way

@@candiedskull9841no, not even those lights, there's plenty of great Kit light options. I made a pretty good house with just kits. Except the toilets... are literal pots... so not functional. Haha

Here's a build challenge. Build whatever you want. Don't worry about size, restricted packs, or budget.
I finally realized why kits bothered me and I never use the ones I have: because you can’t furnish a full house and nothing else fits with it! It seems so obvious now but i had to hear you say it haha. Beautiful build, and definitely worth the price :) I hope you'll make more build challenges with kits or older packs!
Omg I just came back from a trip to Portugal and some items in this build gives me so much Pena Palace vibe! Now I know this kit leans more towards Moroccan architecture but now I want to recreate a tiny version of the Pena Palace with this kit! Thanks Kayla for the inspiration

courtyard oasis is actually my favourite build kit ! but it really is hard to pair with other kits OR use it by itself
hopefully we get a north african world, but based on ea’s obsession with usa worlds i doubt we will see that

@@fatgore I built Moroccan riad inspired house just a month ago and I really wished (and still do!) that there were more African (North African in this case obviously) items. Such missed opportunity!

I think paranormal stuff and some Batuu (sorry but it’s true) stuff could work with this kit. I’d love to see more African, South Asian, and Middle Eastern content tho!
This is a really cool build! I actually end up using a lot of Batuu stuff for this style of house, since the OG star wars was filmed in Tunisia, and a lot of the sets took inspiration from the local architecture

It's SO pretty, I think this kit just doesn't lend itself well to cheaper builds, less versatility but it's good to have them anyways
And with the recent price changes... the plants that were cheap are now very expensive
Sims earn money in seconds anyway 😆 Some items should be expensive, it's good the price ranges are versitile in this manner
It may not be a starter home, but how could it be with all those lovely tiles, doors, and friezes. It is gorgeous!
This is my favorite build you’ve EVER done. That may or may not be because having a smallish home with a courtyard has been my actual dream since I was a kid. Like, I’ve had actual dreams about this house. Downloading and remodeling it with more packs as I type

I would love if they made a travel themed expansion pack, with hotels that you talked about recently, and then the neighborhoods in the world, would be inspired by different places 😍 That would be so interesting 😍🌍
I would love to see something like India, Thailand, Australia, Egypt, Kenya, Greece (more than in tartosa😅), Greenland, Iceland, Alaska, Peru... Lots of very different places 😍 I live in Denmark, but I love the different types of cultures 💕
That build did actually make me want to buy that kit in the near future. Would love more middle eastern/ indian inspired items. An being from Denmark scandinavian styles :)

I love this build! It’s so beautiful! I think the best way to utilize the top section (if you were going to make it accessible) would be to have a staircase coming from the back on the outside.
I think this would be a really cool rental if you added a hot tub or something for sims on vacation
Limited pack build with this and Wedding Stories for a community lot is pretty epic. And you can't go small. You MUST go over the top. I've never seen a dwelling or public space featuring such ornate architecture that wasn't large. Ya need the height and space in the dessert. It gets HOT.
I liked the build so much. Honestly once you started the flooring, i wasn't even thinking about the starter home because it gave me Alladin and Mughal architecture vibes and it was looked very good. the upper floor had so much potential if not for the limitation of just bg and the kit but for flooring maybe like plain marble floors, and lean into the idea of like plain white, black or blue colors and a lot of decor. Like that armored statue from the bg. It can be like a collectible. Also for the roof, i thinki you could have just left it as it is because a lot of those buildings have like an open middle with fountains and/or gardens. I think you were limited by the challenge, i dont know, but now with the blooming kit and the greenhouse haven, i think this lot can be improved.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this building style, my personal dream is to live in a riad, so it's honeslty my favourite build kit. If you want to keep building them, we can never have enough riads in this game (and my sims always live in houses you built so I'd love it)

Look up some Moroccan riads, they are stunning. :)
That's because to use it, you have to fully lean into that style, because it's so different from all other build styles in the game. Outside of a few other City Living items.
I always loved style of this kit, but I wouldn't know how to use it. However, I think your build is beautiful Kayla! And it fits in Oasis Springs.

I think that one other kit that goes well with this one is the pack with the tiger wallpaper. I think they complete each other a lot and they are nice to use together.

Courtyard oasis is possibly my favorite build kit, and I have all of them except for country kitchen (and vacuums if that one counts)

It's like a little palace! There was a sims 2 ep which came w moroccan style furniture and I cant remember which one was it but I was obsessed with the sofa from that collection and i would put it everywhere even if it didn't match! it reminded me of that hehe
With the title and intro, I fully thought this would be with multiple kits, but these build is beautiful

I love expensive one-bedroom "starter" homes. I use them when I wanna play with a new generation of YA sims in a long-established family.
Like, my previous Sim is an elder now, super rich with a huge house that I've played in for a few generations. The next generation, I want to move away and start again. A house like this is perfect because my household can afford it and my new YA Sim will struggle a bit to pay the bills.
My Sims being super rich can get too easy sometimes, so a house like this is a great way to make things challenging again when I get bored.

I will say, I love using the courtyard oasis things with the vampires pack specifically! I know, weird combo, but my idea is that the vampires are from Romania- and Vlad the Impaler was the first vampire and he specifically fought with the Ottomans/Turks. So it's not completely out of the question for the courtyard oasis pack- which is kinda themed like the Ottoman Empire- to show up in some vampiric builds...

Build Challenge for Simsie that just popped in my head : build something using EVERY SINGLE ITEM from ALL of the build kits.
Can use base game if there is no major appliances or plumbing BUT have to use the most expensive base game item if you must use them.
It is okay to repeat items cause it’ll be even funnier to try make the rooms look different with the same items. I’m gonna try it myself 😂😂

Motherlode is SUCH a throwback, I used it ALL THE TIME when I played TS 3 and when I began playing TS 4, but I haven't used it since watching Kayla!

This arab, specially moroccan kinda style is so beautiful, we have a bit of it in Brazil bc there has been many arab diasporas landing here and Idk if it's because the Iberian peninsula was Muslim dominated for a LONG time, but we tend to find this style absolutely stunning. Even in houses where this isn't the main style, you can see some influence. You did great!
Such a cool build! Kinda reminds me of a cafe I went to in Oaxaca Mexico. Which made me think a restaurant in this kit could be so cool & the price doesn’t matter ;)

What I love about that kit is it has the same vibes of some objects in the base sims2 game. There was an old lady in the desert world with a giant cemetery and an Arab looking house

I think for the upstairs situation, you could have done a separate small room that just has stairs, either accessible from the outside or from a room. That way you get another amazing arch or door and your upstairs is free to use.
Expanding on the ceiling fan and the taller wall height, it would be pretty cool if more industrial style fans were added-specifically fans that are made for medium and tall wall height. Plenty of them in real life are suspended from the ceiling by poles, so it would make sense, right? And more "normal" ceiling fans. Not everything has to have a quirky and uncommon model. Even if it was a kit, just a kit of appliances and electronics that were normal. I'd LOVE a window unit air conditioner, or an other side to the one that exists in game (the one with the grates on the front that you stick outside). Not having the interior version sucks :I
How about turning the space above the back bedroom into a balcony and having stairs outside to access the upper level? This build is actually really beautiful!

Maybe it’s the particular style of the Courtyard Oasis kit but I’d love to take it and try to build a community center that’s attached to a mosque. The color of the blue tiles reminded me of the main mosque in my hometown 💙

Yes WE NEED MORE CURTAINS. As I started building more, I realised what a poor choise of curtains we have. And I have almost every dlc. The curtains suck. If there are some cute ones but they don't fit the windows that I have. And sometimes I just need simple short curtains to add on my kitchen window and I end up adding nothing because they either barricate the whole window or are long and clip through counters and items that are on the counters 😫
