It wouldn't load unless I opened it through the updater everytime and N64 emulator isn't recognizing its controls even though it's all set the same way I had it. Any suggestions?

Worked for me, dont forget once you click Xinput, you still have to map your controls, he didnt mention that, and it was working for me at first. After going back and mirroring his settings it worked. Playing Zelda for the first time now.
Does anyone know if its possible to plug in 2 controllers and then in the settings somehow make it so I can switch between controllers whilst playing? For example, if I can press a button on one controller which then 'enables' my 2nd controller. Would be useful for SM64 speedruns so I can switch controllers for bowser throws.
After you get the issue with the correct plugin selected, that resolves the "no controller" issue. I then got an issue "no mempak..." found that under the "controller pak" tab, uncheck the "raw data" box and let the emulator handle the mempak. My controller works now!

How come the title says "connect ps4 controller" but you are talking about an xbox controller and when i open the emulator settings it only says something about an xbox controller..?
For those who have the problem of no detecting controller input, i think i caught the problem and a posible solution. In DS4 there is an error that can appear when a profile is being use, in my case it happen with the default profile. This error can be corroborated in the bottom section of the program, with a message detailing that the profile cannot be loaded and that "the input string was not in a correct format". To solve this problem in my case, i went to the configuration of the profile i was using (the default) and press the button save that is located in the upper left. After that, the error message should disappear and the controller should work fine in the emulator.
i followed all the instructions and I tried with banjo kazooie and it says "no controler" and the controler doesn't work (in ds4windows it says a controler is plugged in)
This doesn’t work though, I honestly highly doubt that this works because I used to have project 64 along time ago and it worked fine everytime… it was just up until recently that I redownloaded it again and it couldn’t read my controller. I don’t know why there is so many unnecessary steps to this when in reality you don’t need to do all this.
For everyone that has the ''No controller'' problem. In the menu at 2:02 in the video you have to also select the option plugged, after i did that it worked for me.
No luck for me. DS4Windows won't even install, the clickable "install" button does nothing. Says to "restart your computer after 15 minutes", like you're flipping fish in the oven or some shit. Ain't nobody got time for this.

I didn't map out my controls but the remote is connected via Bluetooth works for other games but not this at all

You have to change the input plugin like he does at 1:10. It is set on Project64 one by default, you have to change it to the Nrage one

As far as I'm aware no. I don't think any mapping software is able to work with rumble. I could be wrong

This did not work following all instructions and setting settings exactly like you have them.
Solution was updating to latest developer build where things by default work as intended with PS4/DS4Windows.

Anyone having issues with not having sound? Idk why but plugging in my PS4 controller takes away the audio on my PC once I unplug it it comes back on
