Thanks so much for the simple/short video. I get lost in all these self-indulgent vids how great my super factory is, I just needed a guide. Now I have 12,000 MW. Thank you.
Thanks for the share, also nice to see your factory has foundations, so many people make factories just floating in the air, Breaks the immersion for me.
Yeah, Sky factories are not my cup of tea either. I started a new factory town at a coastline, pretty happy how it turned out - video will go up tomorrow.
wait till you get diluted turbo fuel. you can take 1 pure oil output and get 44k energy from it. 600 oil to 44k energy from turbo fuel. Also with water you can take that blue polymer and make rubber and plastic and fabric for other things and sink the end results if you make too much. from the oil you can make circuits and all sorts of other things if you play your cards right.
I do it exactly same way. Heavy oil residue from plastic/rubber production to fuel, fuel to turbofuel. And better setup turbofuel power plant in this lake spot because you have nitrogen wells very close and can easy setup blenders to produce rocket fuel
I’m doing that exact build right now! I’ve got all the fuel made, working on the turbo fuel. I’m 32 refineries in for the fuel-to-turbo fuel step and just ran out of compacted coal 🤦🏼♂️
this is great space for turbofuel factory i like the one on top there are 2 pure sulfur and 2 pure coal ... and plenty of space in sea near crude oil in northern part of map
Tbh, in the same spot, you can build a rocket fuel factory that is able to power 1050 fuel generators with enough spare rocket fuel to power drones and never touch trains again
That lake has enough oil next to it to generate about 5,666 turbofuel per minute if you full overclock every single crude oil node. The two biggest catches to achieving such a number are finding enough coal and sulfur to convert all potential fuel into turbofuel (4,333 of each), and having enough of the construction materials you’ll need to fabricate the absolute behemoth of a facility that will convert all of those raw resources into 133,333 MW of energy. I’ve harnessed only half of the total crude oil in that biome for about 75,000 MW in power, and just the facility alone took me about 25 hours to build, with an additional 8 hours to find and belt in all of the coal and sulfur I needed to run it. For anyone interested in trying it for the first time, you’ll need to unlock the “Turbofuel” recipe in the MAM as this video shows, then find the “Heavy Oil Residue” and “Diluted Packaged Fuel” (or “Diluted Fuel,” if you have access to blenders) alternate recipes at random as well. These two recipes are how you’ll maximize your fuel output, which is the key to determining how much turbofuel you can actually create. The process is as follows: crude oil -> heavy oil residue (sink the polymer resin) -> diluted packaged fuel -> unpack the fuel -> turbofuel.
I’m in the process of taking one single pure oil node, overclocking it to the max and turning it into heavy oil residue. Combining that with the packaged diluted fuel recipe gives me 1,600 fuel, which I’m turning into turbo fuel and then feeding as many generators as possible. Haven’t done the math yet, but I think it’s somewhere around 40,000 MW
Yep, that spot has a crazy potential if you want to go big. Also - alternate recipe for nitrogen-rocket fuel is crazy there, nitrogen is also available on site.
There is also Nitrogen nearby so once you upgrade this to Diluted Turbofuel with Blenders, you can add the Nitric Acid and Manufacturers then go all the way to Rocket Fuel. That gets you 576 Fuel Generators fed from a single 600 Crude Oil node.
I feel like all 12 generators don't have 100% uptime in my build? Any idea what i did wrong? Like not enough turbo fuel is getting to them even after i overclocked some of the refineries. Does it just take time for all of them to be running fully?
The usual suspects would be: All belt speeds and pipes at the correct capacity? Like one small segment NOT Mk2 pipes for example was a choke point in my build, until I found it. Is Fuel / Turbofuel sitting in a buffer, but the pipes at the end of the line have no fuel? Try some pumps (I usually overkill it a bit with the pumps, just to be sure). Check every facility if it is working on 100%, if you see something below that, check the inputs and find the mistake / choke point.
I don`t understand 6-10k mw power is anoufh to get you thrue game with medium size factory? Tho i consider my factory`s alittle above medium size and i`ll need about 150k mw of power.

Simple? Your stuff makes my spaghetti look like noob sauce, and I bought the game at launch. Keep up the good videos.
Thank you!
great video, strait to the point without 15 minuets of just yapping. I'm gonna build a similar set up with explosive crafting as well
Thank you! German efficiency... :-D
I love that spot
Ohh I hear the deutsch. Very nice setup, looking forward to build at this location soon :)
This was exactly what I was looking for!!!
The spot is awesome...and if you get your hands on the alternate rocket-nitrogen fuel...nitrogen is also directly on site!
great video man!
Thank you!
Tip: Look for the Nitro Rocket Fuel alt receipe. You can switch to rocket fuel earlier, and this area shines even more

...who need nuclear power anyway?? :-D

@@chrisbayus5189 that is an easy fix, coal and sulfur are plentiful available.
@@chrisbayus5189 go to a recipe for petroleum coke 1 machine 600 coke should make some turbo

Yep, I recently discovered that alternative recipe - just nuts and so easy to set up.
@@wholesomegamer I have also just realised from the wiki that Rocket Fuel is a gas so it has no headlift requirements!
You can double your output by using the diluted packaged fuel recipe
