As you mentioned, the whole Bigfoot scenario (he being a robot doing the bidding of his alien creators) was a great scifi moment. I was also very into the Fembot series of episodes. The other major storyline that I loved was the "death probe".

The same week I had worked with him, I was working on the short-lived series "Cane," which starred Jimmy Smits. In my scene, I played one, of two bodyguards. We had to walk inside a building to go off camera. When the three of us (the guy in the middle of us two bodyguards, played a Senator) walked inside the building (on the Studio City lot) Lee Majors was trying to get on the elevator. When we saw each other, we both at the same time, said, "Hey," and reached out our hands at the exact same time to greet each other. Lee is one of the nicest men I ever met in the business.

Also in Pakistan, it was kids' favourite show. I cannot forget the thrill, the suspense and the excitement we felt, when there was a scene in which Col Steve or Jaime Sommers had a fight with criminals or something like that. We used to wait whole week for the next episode. Now when I watch these scenes again on youtube, my mind brings same feelings before me, finding them from the store of subconscious.
Perhaps its my nostalgia, but I really feel that those old days were very beautiful.
I really thank to Lee Majors and Lindsay Wagner and other team members who filled our childhood with such a joy.

The old days are always the best! My granny said it, mum said it, i say it myself, even my 21 year old niece say it.
      It's a psychological phenomenom.
They past is carved in stone!
You feel sure when you think about the old days, because nothing and nobody can change this time anymore!
The present and future are not sure, we always have an unsure feeling about it.
In ten or twenty years we will say these times were good.
Covid19........ hopefully no problem anymore in 2030: The good old days of 2020!
Of course we don't forget difficult times, but they don't scare us anymore!
      The philosophers say:
"The good old days are good, because they are over"

Loved both bionic people. Enjoyed the shows. Today we see double amputees racing on artificial limbs. This was unheard of in the mid 1900s. I like to think like a lot of Star Trek, the bionics contributed to some of the improved sciences for handicapped people.

I remember seeing a young man in his late 20s 30s at the park with his young daughter and then zipped off his pant legs to his shorts and all the young children saw his aluminum lower leg and saw him run jump without a hiccup. They all surrounded him and said he must be a bionic man he was so happy to hear that from the kids a lot of cool wow can you jump a house run 60 mph? He was a returning Afghanistan vet. All the parents apologized for their kids but he wasn't bothered by them.

Was it really Andre the Giant who played the Sasquatch in “The Six Million Dollar Man “ series? I’m pretty sure it was the actor Ted Cassidy who played the much loved character “Lurch” from the 60s t.v. show “The Addams Family”. But what do I know. Anyway, I loved “The Six Million Dollar Man”. It aired on a Sunday evening in the 7:30 p.m time slot, back here in Melbourne, OZ. I’ve still got my old 30cm bionic doll in its box packed in a plastic tub somewhere in the garage. I loved the six million dollar man! Had all of the toys!! The only character that ever scared me was Andre's portrayal of Big Foot!! That deep growl that he had... always scared me as a kid. Then, when I got into star wars, I had a lightsaber which I knew would chop him into pieces, and I was no longer scared of "big foot". :) But even the action figure was scary... I'll never forget how Steve could punch him and his chest would fly off... and then you could crank bigfoot up with the lever in the back of Steve... even the ratcheting sound kind of was like the sound from the series! It helped play to be that much more fun!! I still have the late movies of Bionic Showdown and Happily Ever After on VHS tapes somewhere!! I loved TSMDM as a kid, and continue on to this day!!

    • @EdSZiomek
      @EdSZiomek 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

I confirm mickd's explanation. I served in the US Air Force Flight Test Center, Edwards AFB, 72-73. I did not witness the event, but the M2 Lifting body was the test vehicle that had no wings, no brakes, and no power, dropped from a B52 to have a pilot steer it in for landing on the runway, simulating the intended Space Shuttle landing patterns in the future. His 'one-shot-only' approach was flawless but then a safety helicopter hovered over his landing area in the final seconds of landing, and he ordered an emergency of something like "helicopter, move out of the way, you are blocking me, emergency". In that moment of distraction, he paused in his 'wheels down' switch, and the M2 went into a tumble-upon-tumble crash at 200 miles per hour! Critically injured, I heard he had broken arms, legs, lost an eye, etc, but WAS patched somewhat better to semi-active condition, able to move around, but medically retired. Thank you mickd. Amazing time for me, 21 years old, first flight F15, A9/A10 flyoff, FB111 spin test/capsule ejection (uplanned crash), F15-SR71 intercept test, 125 mile computer lock! I urge any able-bodied teenager to head down to the Air Force recruiting like I did, and wild-child-me experienced the time of my life, it was not all easy, but improved me for life, launched me on my History kick with satellite imagery and etymology. Air Force, not just a job, but an adventure! (laughing-they also kicked my ass, thank you, deserved it!)
