As a gay boy, growing up in the mid 80's, I have to say that the BIONIC WOMAN and WONDER WOMAN were my favorite TV shows. They were both beautiful ladies and played amazing characters. The great thing now, as an adult, is knowing in real life, that both Lindsay Wagner and Lynda Carter are good friends. and they are still living and look just as beautiful. They aged well. I love them both dearly and they are part of my great childhood.
@JohnnyEarsBig Aside from Barbara Eden (Jeanie) I'd have to agree. I watched them both and I"d have to say As far as talent, Lindsy is a notch above. Beautiful ladies? Yeah!
The Biionic Woman and Princess Leia were my first little boy crushes in the 70's! Loved this show. Looking back, I think It was VERY important for boys to see strong women too then too. Proud to say my daughters have been raised to have that internal strength. ❤
Gosh, I love this lady even more now, the DNA under the stall, that's just hilarious, she's just so down to earth! There's such a gentle shyness and tactfulness and how Lindsay has handled many matters of life and the intrusion of fans, she did not wish to offend while desiring to enjoy private peaceful time with family and friends. I just sooo wish that damned executive had NOT prematurely cancelled the show! When Jaime had died, I had been sitting on the couch with two of my siblings, I was eleven years old, we all so very terribly choked up that I did not even dare look at them that for sure I would burst into tears, devasting that even writing this I'm in tears as a 59 year old man! Well, well, in September when most unexpectedly in front of us was The Return of The Bionic Woman, we all jumped up and down "Jaime's ALIVE, Jaime's ALIVE!" .... yet, heartbreakingly, soon she turned to Steve to say "Who are you?" ... but, brilliant excellent script writing it had been! Loved the classroom scene when Jaime ripped the phone book in half and the instant respect gained! The Fembot episodes thrilled and creeped me out at the same time! BUT, Doomsday is Tomorrow is of the most thought provoking tv episodes of all time that even to this day I must revisit!
Lindsay made a huge impact on me as a kid. It was so great to see a smart, vulnerable, strong woman kicking ass like Lee Majors! When she died, I was devastated! But then they resurrected Jaime Summers & gave her her very own show. I was thrilled! I had 4 brothers & we used to run around outside pretending we were bionic! I loved hearing her stories! She's a beauty inside & out! ❤
I was a teenage gay boy BUT I had the BIGGEST Crush on Lindsay Wagner in 'The Bionic Woman'! I watched her every week! Now, I know that I have always been inspired by strong, intelligent, warm, and yes, beautiful women! Lindsay is the pinnacle of ALL of those qualities! 💝
As a boy I grew up in an aggressive family full of frightening disruptive domestic violence. Lindsay Wagner's portrayal of Jaime Sommers gave such a connected depth & strength in kindness, compassion and humanitarianism that was on such a different frequency, another level from the usual conventional American mainstream tv with their crass shallow storylines. Inadvertently, Lindsay managed to energetically help alot of viewers struggling through adversities & difficulties out there & gave them hope that there were good conscientious people in the World with integrity and it was possible to live freely and overcome horrible circumstances without resorting to the dumbest excesses of violence. Her perceptive input instigated a depth to her series which became so much superior to its generic routine origin The Six Million Dollar Man that was (in my opinion) uninvolving, flat and dull in comparison. Whoever the influential corporate head of ABC was who went out of his way to cancel the series even moving to NBC network to cancel the series a second time, he must've known & been aware of her strength & didn't want that unique (dare I say Feminist?) message broadcast. If you look at Charlies Angels, also a great success none of their actresses had the creative input & to a certain level, artistic control that Lindsay managed to achieve with her series. She elevated generic material to another level.
This was a fantastic interview. Been a fan of Lindsay since I was a kid watching her on Bionic Woman, and I learned so many new things about her life and career watching this video!
She came to my job in the theatre at "enchanted Forest" Oregon many years ago. She was one of the prettiest women i ever saw. She came up to the stage and we all got to meet her, and some got a picture with her. She was a kind person
As a kid growing up the bionic man and the bionic woman was definitely one of my favorite shows. I may have not noticed, but I was drawing to her as an actress because I recognized her, another shows. she’s always had a warm energy about her although I never met her in person. She always seemed like a beautiful individual to me. I am so glad that I could watch this and see how genuine personality she will always be the bionic woman much respect.
I think this was one of the BEST interviews I’ve ever seen with a celebrity. Lindsay is so warm and kind and you can tell, extremely talented and intelligent. I’ve always loved her but this is the icing on the cake!
She really looks wonderful . No way i could've guessed her age correctly. and overall still a very nice lady. I'd give anything to look as well as she does.
Oh wow, loved this! Loved The Bionic Woman, have the DVD set. Did I hear right - Lindsay Wagner will be 75 at the weekend? She looks amazing, and naturally so. 🤩
Was a fan as a kid in the 70's, she was so beautiful and so talented. She was a hero of ours as kids. And truly one of the natural beauties of the 70's.
I was at a comic con in Birmingham with my wife saw her from a distance she gave us such a warm smile, I was far too shy to say hello but got to see her, 😊
She was a role model in her TV show. Always positive, always willing to fight for a good reason. And the humane side was extremely important. It wasn't special effects only. And here she is so kind and classy ;)
As a kid she was the only "star" I wrote and asked for an autographed picture. When I received it I was beyond happy. Love her to death. Didn't know she is living in Palm Springs. I, also, live in Palm Springs. Maybe I will be lucky and see her around town. That would be incredible.
Lindsay Wagner is my childhood Hero and at 61 she still is. They say never meet your Hero in real life because you can be disappointed. Well I ment Lindsay 18 years ago and she was not a let down to me she is a class act woman.love her always
I had a crush on Linsday Wagner back in the day! I thought! It was awesome watching Jamie Somers fight fembots and Big Foot too! Linsday Wagner had a beautiful voice too! May God bless you with greater health, many more birthdays to come, and healing, joy, and peace for the rest of your days! More love and support to you, Linsday Wagner!
She is and will always be legendary in my book as the Bionic Woman. Her humble attitude towards the role left an impression on my life's outlook to always be positive. Though she was powerful, she never boasted her bionics, she always hid it. Love it, love her!❤❤😎😎
I loved getting to know this childhood heroine of mine. Just wonderful! I was shocked at the lengths some fans have gone to get an autograph. I’m so very sorry you can’t even go to the bathroom in peace. That’s so sad.
Craig does such great interviews always a real joy watching him navigate a stars life. Lindsay is an icon of our generation she is so real non pretentious honest warm candid her show brings me so much warmth and im 56yo and takes me back to being a 11 yo kid in simpler rosier times. Thank you God Bless 🙏
This was a fabulous interview! Classy! Lindsay is an absolutely delightful woman! She is part of so many girls’ ( and boys’) childhood. Women around the world share a connection because of the character she (and no one else could have been the bionic woman) played! Quite a legacy! I feel sorry for the insecure, selfish, greedy little executive who took this treasure away from so many viewers. Another high paid, self-absorbed executive who did not know how to be in a power seat. It had to be all about him! Thankfully, Lindsay’s impact on so many lives is still celebrated in 2024! Happy 75 Birthday!
Have so much appreciation and respect for Lindsay. She is so humble and authentic. She’s a breath of fresh air. God bless her. She’s a beautiful woman.
She needs to write a book. There's so much more! Linsday was literally among the last of the old studio system "contract players" over at Universal. Sadly, Universal was the last studio even offering them. Its why you saw her on everything Universal produced, from Marcus Welby to Night Gallery. When she initially did Six Million, her contract as a studio player was about to lapse, and Universal was in the process of letting all player contracts expire without renewing them. When Jaime "died" it was huge. ABC knew it. They wanted a spinoff series, but Lindsay's contract had already lapsed. Universal was trying to sell Stefanie Powers, but ABC insisted upon Lindsay. Well, let's say she had a tough manager who had serious leverage in contract negotiations. She was offered an insane amount of money (even by today's standards) and accepted, which really upset Lee Majors who was making far less at the time. So that's where their animosity started. That said, his salary was boosted to match Lindsay's. Also, they both got a sweet percentage of all the bionic merchandising featuring them, particularly dolls and posters. Tons of fascinating stories like these!
What an amazing human being Lindsay Wagner is, I've lost count how many times I've watched The Bionic Woman, she's still so charming with that beautiful smile and positive energy! God bless her ♥
She was in a TV movie in 1982 where she comes home to her children after years in a mental institution. She had forgotten the real reason she was there. I never forgot it. I saw it online again recently.
I love this woman. Grew up watching her on the Bionic Woman and also many movie of the weeks. She was gorgeous then and still is now. Love you Lindsay Wagner from Brandy in Tennessee.
What a measured, insightful person Lindsay is. As usual, a terrific and thoroughly researched interview. Thanks Craig Bennett, you are always so on point. Had no idea of the breadth of Lindsay's career and life. And you only scratched the surface.
As a contemorary of Ms. Wagners, and an Oregonian, I have nothing but respect for her efforts in advancing womens empowerment over the years. I have always felt she was not fully appreciated for her talent as an actress. A stellar human being. Hope too that she had a great 75th birthday.
When I was a teenager in the 70’s, I would just stare at her when they did those closeups on Bionic Woman. I thought she was absolutely beautiful, and I wanted to look like her 😊
Oh my goodness, Lindsay Wagner!! She was my childhood hero! I got her Jaime Sommers Doll for Christmas one year and still had it when I got married. So happy to see her today!! ❤❤❤
I am 51 now, but I was that child watching The Bionic Woman and Six Million Dollar Man. I don't remember but when I was 3 I have a picture of me holding a Steve Austin Doll. I do remember playing with female action figures with blonde hair and pretending they were Jamie. Great show. I did meet her once at a con and got a autograph.
I remember being a kid watching Lindsay as the bionic woman and Thinking how lucky she was to be involved with the Handsome Lee Majors. He was Lucky too.
I had a bionic woman doll too back in the day. I remember dreaming about having the special talents that Jamie Somers had. Big fan of Bionic Woman and Six Million Dollar Man. My fav episode was when they took on Saskqwatch.
Lindsay Wagner's journey from child model to acting despite dyslexia is truly inspiring. Can't wait to hear more about her adventures with Lee Majors and James Garner! 👍
Such a beautiful person on screen and off. I love that show so much and it resonated with me not just because I grew up in a house full of women, but because she made being a superhero seem so human
I'll never forget sitting around the dinner table and the phone rang. My dad answered and talked to Lindsay, who had called to tell us about her new show and hoped we would watch it. I thought that was so cool! And we did watch it. Loved that show as a kid. And every time I watched it, I thought about my dad getting to speak to her.
I always knew there was something really screwy about this so called, "ratings" system that was cancelling terrific shows that should have never been cancelled to begin with. I absolutely hated that system.
I grew up watching The Six Million Dollar Man and The Bionic Woman when they aired in the 1970's. Loved the chemistry between Steve and Jaime. I'm a fan for life. Blessings to Ms. Wagner.
Great interview! I had a Bionic Woman / Six Million $ Man movie viewer thingy back in the day. I think it showed short 8-track type video of the trailers.
Kelly Clarkson had the identical story that she was in a bathroom stall, and a hand with a piece of paper and pen slides under the stall and asks for an autograph. I just can't imagine!
Wonderful interview, Vick! I did not know about that 'stall' story, lolz. Lindsay Wagner/Jaime Sommers was my childhood. Finally got to meet her on set in the 1997 for the movie 'Their Second Chance.' Lindsay is a wonderful soul. Many Happy Returns, Lindsay🎂
Lindsay Wagner…what a class act. So authentic not only in her work on the show and in many other wonderful films, but also in real life. Thank you for this lovely interview and thank you Ms. Wagner for your talent and genuineness.
When Bionic Woman moved to NBC and Max was being introduced in the season premiere, I went on a Universal Studios tour as a kid, and we went by the BW stage. I saw Lindsay walking around on the set and one of the "Max's" with bandaged paws lying on the set as well. Gorgeous German Shepherd by the way...They were setting up for a scene, but I guess that scene was never used because that episode never showed Max with bandages around his paws. I was able to get Lindsay's autograph on a BW jigsaw puzzle box I bought and had a quick "I'm such a huge fan" type conversation with her. She is such a nice lady who loved her fans and I am so glad to have seen this interview
I love Lindsay Wagner. She always seemed like a lovely nice person. She looks wonderful! The first time I ever saw Lindsay Wagner was on the pilot episode of "the Rockford files". She also returned for a second episode, just before she became the bionic woman. Great seeing her!
The first time I saw Lindsay Wagner was in 1973 in "The Paper Chase." I have been a great fan ever since. Really wished she could have been a regular on "The Rockford Files." She was really great and so pretty and nice.
Well it’s a good thing Lindsay was not a regular on James Garner’s show otherwise her iconic portrayal of Jaime Sommers would not exist! In fact the Star was instrumental in her being cast as he enjoyed working with her, so he must have suggested her to Universal Television executives or THE SIX MILLION DOLLAR MAN producer Harve Bennett, where she made her debut appearance as Jaime in a two parter.
Yeah, I was certifiably crazy over Lindsay… thought she was the most exciting/beautiful woman ever. She had/has a special quality. Great to see her again.
I’m not really a convention type of guy, but as an Australian, I seriously considered attending Supanova to meet her and get a photo signed. I have always adored her.
When Lindsay came back from the dead in the premier of the 3rd season of The Six Million Dollar Man, in mid-Sept ‘75, I was almost 8yo & in the middle of moving to a brand new house, starting a new school, and leaving my old friends. Watching Jaime die that summer was hard enough (I had a huge crush on Lindsay Wagner), but reliving it and then find out she was alive, was too much for a young boy’s heart. I distinctly remember mom dropping me & my sister off at the new school (we had not moved yet) and not wanting to go, trying to tell my mom I was sick, could I go home, “No!” As I walked towards my door the tears started flowing as I pictured Jaime at the phone booth, in the pouring rain, suffering so much pain! It was awful. Before I went inside I had pull myself together, dry my eyes, and hope none of my friends could tell what had just happened. I hated going to school from then on! Lol But, I grew up and got over it. I loved watching The Bionic Woman, but when the bionic dog, Max, came along, I was ready to move on, almost a teenager by then. I got a kick re-watching the show again a few years ago when they were both on either MeTV or Cozi, I can’t remember. Seeing Steve & Jamie brought back all those feelings again, ever so briefly, in my 50s. Ahh, nostalgia. Thanks for this interview! You still look great, Lindsay!!! You were the first woman to break my heart!! Lol ❤❤❤ [Edit] P.S. I loved Lindsay in The Taking of Flight 847: The Uli Derickson Story, very powerful performance; and as Bishop’s mom on NCIS.
Loved her so much! Got a signed headshot of her and put it up in my room when I was 8 and got her doll and dome house for Christmas. I was devastated when I found out her and Lee weren't really a couple in real life, but when I found out he was with Farrah, another of my female role models in tv, I wasn't so devastated, lol. Lindsey was and is such a class act through and through.
Absolutely loved the Bionic Women, every since apperance on 6 million dollar man,she died my & friend's 😢for day's.Nice childhood memories,I bought the dvd set.
I love her! A fantastic talent and so down to earth. I joined her fan club when I was a kid and had a picture of her on my wall for years. Great interview and to see her share some of her experiences, thanks ❤
Six Million Dollar Man, and Bionic Woman were two of my fave shows as a child. In Chicago, there is a hospital that specializes in bionic therapy. She did commercials as well. I never knew she was a natural brunette.
Thank you Lindsay for giving your time for this interview! I always enjoyed the Bionic Woman as a kid in the 70’s..Great questions Craig and a quality program..Happy Birthday Lindsay
As always, you are such a great interviewer. Thank you for this new one. Lindsay as Bionic Woman is so iconic and she looks fabulous. Very interesting behind the scenes stories.
Lindsay Wagner was my first crush. I was four years old and would just stare at the screen when she was doing Bionic Woman. It was the first time I took any interest in a woman other than my mother.
Wow, her birthday one day off mine! I didn't realize her show was on only 3 years. But as a kid that seems probably a long time, but I had my Bionic woman doll! Loved it!

Yes! Besides the running, jumping, I was even imitating her hairstyles...ponytail kind of covering ears, for example...Loved her!
Yes Lindsey Wagner still remains very pretty, Lauren Bacall (like Lindsey Wagner) also stayed lovely all through the years !!!

She's probably my all time favorite person ever. So beautiful, authentic, talented and grounded.
She’s a very talented, lovely lady with a mind of her own. Thank you for this interview.❤
Such a beautiful person on screen and off. I love that show so much and it resonated with me not just because I grew up in a house full of women, but because she made being a superhero seem so human
Nice interview and interviewer . Lindsay was very generous.
What a great interview. Had no idea Ms Wagner had such a diverse and fascinating career. Seems such a nice person 😊
Glad you enjoyed it!
Classic tv,and memories of growing up as a child watching her and six million dollar man
I'll never forget sitting around the dinner table and the phone rang. My dad answered and talked to Lindsay, who had called to tell us about her new show and hoped we would watch it. I thought that was so cool! And we did watch it. Loved that show as a kid. And every time I watched it, I thought about my dad getting to speak to her.
She's such an iconic actress👏
I always knew there was something really screwy about this so called, "ratings" system that was cancelling terrific shows that should have never been cancelled to begin with. I absolutely hated that system.
This was great! My wonderful niece is named after this wonderful woman. I wish she would write a memoir.
I grew up watching The Six Million Dollar Man and The Bionic Woman when they aired in the 1970's. Loved the chemistry between Steve and Jaime. I'm a fan for life. Blessings to Ms. Wagner.
Had a huge crush on her as a kid. Her. All of Charlie’s Angels. Kristi McNichol. Joyce Dewitt. Lauren Tewes from the Love Boat.
Great interview! I had a Bionic Woman / Six Million $ Man movie viewer thingy back in the day. I think it showed short 8-track type video of the trailers.
I loved "The Bionic Woman!"
So did I! I remember practicing running and jumping like her character.
Really GREAT interview with Lindsay!!!
Hope she has a wonderful visit to Australia...🥰😍🤩.
Lindsay was the top actress when I was growing up. A down to earth person which is refreshing.she is a natural beauty ❤😂
She’s so lovely. She’s so accessible and open that anyone can relate to her even though she’s a big star. I could listen to her talk all day!
She was one of my three crushes Lindsey Wagner, Erin grey and Farrah Fawcett.
Good taste !
Same for me, plus Lynda Carter "Wonder Woman".
I love this lady ❤God bless her
That was nice James brought her a TV.
A real beauty, a hypnotically-gifted actress, and I truly believed she could kick my ass 😍
I loved the Bionic Woman story lines. They had action and heart. I think it was a very unique series. Lindsay Wagner is an excellent actress!
The fembot episodes were always a blast.
Always loved this lady ❤️ great to see her looking and feeling so great and exuding great energy ❤
Lol
But, I grew up and got over it.
Lol ❤❤❤
[Edit] P.S. I loved Lindsay in The Taking of Flight 847: The Uli Derickson Story, very powerful performance; and as Bishop’s mom on NCIS.
Great actress! I’m a big fan! Thank you!
What a great interview with Lindsay Wagner, thank you so much!
Such a wonderful woman, truly beautiful inside and out.
Wonderful interview… thank you so much. I grew up watching Lindsay Wagner as Bionic Woman… love her!
This was fantastic. Could listen to Lindsay Wagner forever. 🙏
Excited to hear Lindsay Wagner's behind-the-scenes stories, especially about 'The Bionic Woman' and her encounters with TV executives.
I agree with Lindsay, you’ve truly done your homework. Wonderful interview.
God, I loved her then and now.
Glad you enjoyed it!
She is part of my inspiration to become strong ,, in environment I was not welcomed in my childhood
It was good to see her in NCIS as ellies mother-she's as beautiful as ever❤❤❤
Watched her as a kid. She looks fantastic and great to see an actress who's had no work done and just aged gracefully.
As always, you are such a great interviewer. Thank you for this new one. Lindsay as Bionic Woman is so iconic and she looks fabulous. Very interesting behind the scenes stories.
Our pleasure!
Loved it!
