The reason the South Vietnam anthem melody is great is because its melody is LITERALLY a Communist Vietnamese song, "Thanh niên hành khúc". South Vietnam stole it without the author's permission.
It's probably been already suggested, but doing a part 2 and ranking some of the Soviet Republics' own anthems would be nice. You could include some you didn't mention here as well, like Georgia's old anthem - ''დიდება'' (''glory'') has a really great and memorable tune. *16:18* Also, correction for ''The Internationale'' as the anthem of the RSFSR - *no.* It was NOT the anthem of the RSFSR, it was the anthem of the Soviet Union at large, all the other Soviet Republics, including the short-lived Transcaucasian Federative republic, used it as well. It was basically the Soviet Anthem before the *actual* Soviet Anthem was written in 1944. So saying that it was a ''national'' anthem is deeply misleading here, as it was in fact an international anthem, applied to almost the entirety of the Communist world at large at that time. In my opinion it's absolutely a phenomenal song and even as a tune, an iconic S-tier worthy classic. I almost always hum it to myself.
Fair points being made here. I sorta just used the RSFSR flag as a stand in for “the older Soviet Union” to set it aside from what it became later. Totally a misnomer on my part.
@@Mayonezboi Totally understandable, my point was just that Internationale wasn't a ''natioal anthem.'' Otherwise great video, especially for a sub-200 subscribers channel!.. Also, my biggest shock in the entire video, aside from Internationale, was Ottoman Empire B tier. Now as a Georgian, I *HATE* the Ottoman Empire, but I simply can not deny that its anthem is absolutely the summit of sheer epicness and could fit better in Star Wars than in real life. Really shows how oppressive and destructive the empire was in its nature, like it's showing its true colours. Sure, having an imperial march as an anthem is tacky, but what you'd expect from an empire like the Ottomans.
Great video! Just a correction: ‘Ey Irān’ was never the official anthem of Iran. The official anthem during the Pahlavi era was ‘Sorude Šâhanšâhiye Irân’ (Imperial Anthem of Iran), which was used from 1933 until the islamic Revolution in 1979.
If you do Part 2 with the various SSRs, I must say that Turkmenistan's is a personal favorite of mine. I'd like to see what you think of it though. I also owned an old version of Encarta as a kid that still had both the communist Afghanistan anthem (despite the version being released well into the Northern Alliance's reign and even depicting their flag) and the 90s Russian Anthem.
Just for informational purposes, there are _quite a few_ versions here on TH-cam for some of these anthems, Vive Henri IV being an example. Listen to a couple different ones and see if one sticks with you! I also recommend this for current anthems. Some of them sound better with lyrics, some without lyrics, and certain orchestras often capture the mood better than others. You'll see what I mean. (Side note, if you like medieval music, I recommend Les Menestriers' album of the same name. Another good rabbit hole to dive down!)
I actually love the Korean Empire anthem same with the Qing Dynasty anthem (at least the modern version one) but I also agree East Germany anthem is S Tier.
are you going to make a part two? if so, i think checking out some post soviet countries' ussr national anthems would be nice, also, if you *want* to, you can rank the latvian proposed anthem that was rejected because it was too long and some other reasons "Saule, Pērkons, Daugava". just trying to help out lol, nice video
Cool video. Though it should be noted that 'Ey Iran' was never the anthem of Pahlavi Iran. The anthem of Iran back then was 'Sorude Šâhanšâhiye Irân' (Imperial Anthem of Iran). Ey Iran is merely a popular anthem, and is often used by the Iranian diaspora.
East Germany’s anthem would have fit a modern post war, post unification Germany much better (literally being about reunification and rebuilding). It’s also got a unique and awesome melody.
I suggest for fiction you should look at the minecraft server stoneworks and their national songs, for there is some songs which were made for the Minecraft nations over the 5+ years of history and has over 60K players and has 300-400 on daily. Some of the nations even have made their own verisons of pre-existing national songs, and like I've said some are even custom. So I suggest give it a try, even not has a video for fun. Also the Prussian National Athem there is another one which can be counted has the "Unofficial" or even official not fully but, the Prussian Glory March after their victory over the 2nd French Empire and the creation of the German Empire or the German Kaiserreich. You also should cover the German Empire/Kaiserreich National Athem for it's not in use today... Also there is some nations like Hannover which had their own, which were custom or based off of other anthems. And Swiss have some songs you should cover, same has the irish.
Before watching this, I just want to say that if the Soviet national anthem isn't number 1, this list is invalid After video: damn it isn't even on here. I am going to touch you

east germany anthem is not copyrighted
@@Xand223-fy8ry The copyright holder has it blocked in Russia. I didn’t want that to hurt visibility so I removed it. Their rules not mine ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

South Vietnam is bad anthem, not good.
@@Senhor_Bolacha I agree. It's an anthem of a puppet regime.

Fun fact: Korean empire anthem was made by the same person who made japan anthem
No wonder I was reminded of it when I first listened to that one. Thanks for the info!
The perfect 3am banger
A proper replacement for the US anthem would be America the Beautiful.
Bro, shouldve used the modern recording of the Libyan Jamahiriya Anthem, not the one that sounds like it was recorded on a 3ds
That recording was the one that came to mind for me when I was making this video and I didn't even consider there could be better ones lol
mayonez komrade!

Should’ve added Zaire

Your political opinions shouldn't matter when ranking
