Glad you had the chance to have him in this.
What a nice unexpected treat seeing Richard again. RIP you beautiful bastard.
I am so incredibly happy to see Richard as a guest! (RIP)
This one's super special. RIP Richard 😢
Richard Lewis!!! WOW! The man has more posthumous credits than most people have prehumous.
Awwww i didnt realize how long ago these were filmed, RIP Richard.
They mentioned early 2023 in one episode
@@darrenXparkeryes, during season 12 production, so at least a year ago.
aww, so happy he got to be on this. rest his soul.
Legend has it, that by the time this podcast series is done, a "by the way" compilation will exceed the duration of the universe itself.
🤣🤣
"He says something really funny that kills you, and then he's gone." How poetically appropriate. RIP.
Richard Lewis is truly one of the greats, happy you had him on!
I’m so happy to see Richard Lewis one last time. Still shocked he’s not around anymore. He lives for ever on Curb and on here so thats fantastic for us all. RIP Richard🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼
Richard looks so happy and healthy in this podcast. I love seeing him smile.
By the way...so great to spend some quality time with Richard!
omg amazing stories, guy mind sharp as a nail to the end. "have you ever hugged a therapist?" suzie walked RIGHT into that one 😂😂.
lol i dont think he was joking there
By the way, Richard thanks for resurrecting yourself for the podcast.
Wow, this is amazing. His family is going to adore this. Much love.
Richard was such a sweet guy....His line to Larry about having so much in the bank that nothing can shake the friendship is something I often think about
I agree with everyone here. Thank you for giving us a last hour with Richard. Priceless.
Man what a treat to get this
Got to love show biz: Richard saying "I love the show", when no episodes had aired at the time they filmed this.
I thought the same. Love you Richard Lewis.
BTW, just on a side note: the title of the Beethoven composition is "Für Elise," not "Fleur-de-lis." It means 'For Elise,' in German. The piece may have been written for Therese Malfatti, a student of Beethoven's, with whom he was in love. It's thought that his handwriting may have been misinterpreted when the music was transcribed and "Therese" became "Elise." "Fleur-de-lis" is a stylized symbol of a lily flower (fleur meaning 'flower' and lis, 'lily' in French) used on the traditional French coat of arms -- and is unrelated to the title of the piece.
Relax
Awww Richie!!!❤
R.I.P richard lewis 🙏 loved him on curb he's dearly missed
This was easily the best episode in an already-classic podcast. Susie and Jeff are their usual hilarious selves but the addition of the Prince of Pain, Mr Richard Lewis, is simply fantastic. You can immediately see the love and respect that these three astounding comedians have for each other. Susie and Jeff, thank you for continuing to bring the laughs as you break down these episodes and Richard, may your memory always be a blessing! Z"L
We're still only on season 2 so I hope Richard pops up in a lot more of these ❤
Love Jeff. Love Susie. RIP Richard.
Richard Lewis isn't dead...he lives on in every conversation that ends with a zinger that cannot be bettered without hours of thought.
.. l'esprit de l'esclair in human form😊
Thanks for the countless laughs, Richard!
I think he heard you
oh Richard..💙
Brilliant to see R L on this. BTW….I now watch the eps & follow the transcript, then skip the long bits of Jeff interrupting blah blah blah……so much less annoying 😎
RIP Richard, what a legend, you will be missed...
I know I'm late but this was great. Richard was so sharp and hilarious even till the end. RIP Richard!
This is really when the show started to hit its prime. RIP Richard. ❤❤
Wish we could have heard more from Lewis in this episode. But Jeff is Jeff. RIP Lewis.
Yeah, annoyed that they didn’t let him talk half the time. Especially because he was dialed in - easy to forget that he’s there. :/
RIP Im so glad to really know him like this
Richard getting emotional at the end 🥺
Thank you for all the joy and laughter Richard. Rest in Peace
Great to see Richard again
Im glad they got him in before the inevitable, they didnt know it at the time ofcourse but they were so lucky they managed to get him on. He was a major part of the show from the outset, RIP Richard.
God love Richard Lewis. He was such an integral part of Curb. Really enjoying the podcast Jeff and Susie.
Jeff: And then he's gone. RIP Richard Lewis, thanks for your brilliant comedy ☮️💜
Richard was great. I remember he used to always go on the all the daytime talk shows, I think like Merv Griffin, Mike Douglas, etc and he got known and loved for his comedian character.
I’m crying. If you’re not Crying!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤
OMG RICHARD!!!!!! So happy to see him again may Allah have mercy on him ❤🕊️
"What is this, Roots?"😂🤣R.I.P. RL
RIP - from this video it seems like Richard could have had 10+ more strong years 😢😢
What a lovely parting gift from Lewis. RIP.
Idea for additional podcast: Have Larry David watch this podcast and debunk all the things that Jeff takes credit for. lol, love you Jeff.
He really does try to take Credit for a lot of Larry's or the Guest Star's Jokes! He's always like "I feel that's something I pitched them" but he conveniently never quite remembers for sure! Like dude quit smelling your own Farts and just be happy Larry included you in this Masterpiece!
I'm so grateful to Curb for introducing the me (and most of the UK) to Richard Lewis.
Such a talent, just pure, unadulterated FUNNY!
Sleep well brother x
That's just the crib! 😂😂😂😂 my favorite Richard line
This was great to watch. It seems like Richard had a lot of fun making Curb.
This was the best History of curb episode. How inspiring to have Richard Lewis on. Thank you so much, please keep them coming!
Richard is a legend! RIP
Richard Lewis was a class act and always funny as hell.... May he rest in peace...
Best episode yet
Oh yea gonna be hearing this while at work. Gonna be a pretty.. pretty.. pretty good day at work
Jeff constantly doing that fake Hollywood bit where he loved every person who made a guest appearance , and they were the sweetest person ever , is too much .
Yeah it is very fake but it's a standard part of show business that they all heap praise on one another so it's not like he's the only one who does it. And he does mention the guy as the waiter was miscast so it's not every single person but you have to wonder if he really does think that about every person, cos some were just bit parts really.
I love that Richard is to talkative.
49:15 Jeff getting on about BSG. Awesome. GREAT SHOW!
I think Larry’s first use of “pretty good” comes as early as “Porno Gil” (S1 E3). He is quoted in “Curb Your Enthusiasm: The Book” (2006) explaining the genesis of the phrase: “That line ‘Pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty good’ came from a bit I did on stage once that had to do with how you never tell your parents how you really feel. It was about my mother coming home and finding me with my head in the oven. She says, ‘How are things going?’ And I say, ‘Things are good! Things are good! Pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty good.’”
And by the way, more Curb oral history can be found on the Substack in my bio. Just sayin’. 🤓
Oh wow. Is someone chopping onions in here? 🥺
Problem? 🤷🏼♂️
This was wonderful. I miss Richard so much He used to DM x and os me on twitter. It was like he was still with us. These 3 together were magic. Comparing shrink visits was comedy gold. Going to listen to it again.
So cool to see Richard Lewis. Rest in peace Richard.
Everybody trying to get a word in edgewise past you know who.
I'm bummed because I loved the idea of this podcast, but just can't deal with Jeff anymore. So I'm going to just do my rewatch along with the podcast, check out the comments every week to see if things are getting better. To me the only way this can happen is if Jeff is gone. I don't even think with constructive criticism he would be able to change.
He shouldn't change. You should leave.
AND BY THE WAY... The therapist was also in The Larry Sanders Show as were a few more guest actors on Curb.
OMFG!!!!! RICHARD!!! 🥺🥺🥺🥺
Re-cap is a REAL thing. 🤣
I dread it so much I stopped going to therapy.
"A thong? Like Richard Simmons? You ever see him do that shit?"
I have the same reaction to the ocean like LD 😂
L❤VE me some Richard ... long before Curb.
completely surprised! Thanks for this. And cool Jeff worked with Ted Demme.
Oh my god yes. I am so happy this got to happen. Wow. I am so so so excited to see this. Love this.
Will someone count how many times Jeff says, "by the way"? Lol
I wonder if Larry will call him out when he's on. 😂
Richard Lewis was a guest and we get Jeff Garlin's memories of directing Jeff Garlin's first movie?!? I agree with others, please do some editing. Who is producing this podcast?
It was such a gift to see Richie here, still sharp and looking well. It's a shame he wasn't used more often in the show, given there were long stretches where we didn't see him at all in certain seasons.
It is so nice to hear his voice.
Rip you beautiful human
Such a joy! ❤
Thanks so much for this. I loved Richard RIP
BATTLEFIELD EARTH was the Travolta movie.
loved the 5th episode of the podcast i'll look forward to more stories and guest interviews love from culver city california socal la area ❤️
Ah so sad but great at the same time.
He left us laughing :)
Wow, what a treat ❤
Love the episode but they didn't let Richatd get a word in edgewise. That's sad.
Long Live Lewis
I love this. I just wish you would show a brief clip or still photo of the scenes
The world isn’t the same without Lewis and Einstein. Funny in their bones and so sorely missed.
First Comment Baby!!! Also, RIP Richard Lewis.
Do you want a medal or something?
I could show you 26 first comments I've made...
I love your headphones Jeff. The best!!
He's alive!
I was rewatching Bojack Horseman last week and hearing him was such a nice surprise, and now you guys ❤❤❤
This would be a great episode if Jeff would shut the hell up for at least two seconds
He can’t
A tough but beautiful watch xxx
"Like Richard Simmons?"
Miss you Richy!
John Pleshette, who played the therapist, is in fact a cousin of the late Suzanne Pleshette. He's 81 years old, so he would have been around 59 when the episode came out.
Wowza!
Knott’s Landing
Do we need the full litany Richard? 😂
Two to three months? That’s just the crib. Hahahah😂
Damn wasn’t expecting Lewis on here RIP
