I don’t think Curb would have lasted 12 seasons without Leon. He breathed new life into the show and added a new dynamic that totally changed it.
100percent. That gave the show another direction. His divorce and Cheryl getting with Ted… so he could date …
Give the guy his own show
Facts
He’s almost like the giant child Larry and Cheryl never had lol
Leon moves in even though the hurricane didn’t affect him. He lived in L A. Perfect.
“Was he in the hurricane?!”
“No! he lives here in LA!”
@@MikeLikesChannelThat was a hilarious moment 😂😂
He is the master of all free loaders
lmao
I love that Leon isn’t necessarily portrayed as a very smart person but Larry always take his advice at full tilt 😂
Leon is probably the most genuine friend that Larry has, along with Jeff
@@trx-hz3lhRichard Lewis..?
Absolutely died of laughter when Leon talked about Kramer in yesterday's finale. Leon binge-watching Seinfeld really brought things full circle. Gonna miss this show.
spoiled it for us didnt you
Leon is curbs Kramer
@@sujalgautam9761 in my defense, when you’re watching interviews of the cast then I think the spoiler window is open
@@sujalgautam9761 i read this collect 5 hours ago and just finished the episode 20 minutes ago. Nothing was ruined for me. The Kramer comment was not a spoiler.
What I also liked is that Larry ended the show exactly the same as they did on Seinfeld, I.e a court where they bring back all the characters who have shaped the show along the main cast.
JB gave Curb new life when he came on to the show. He made me laugh with every line that he ever had. You can tell Larry enjoyed working with him as much as we enjoyed watching them together.
Completely agree...EVERY LINE
When I first saw the show I though he was gonna be a one off character really glad he wasn't.
Saved the show. Took it to another level.
@@NewFalconerRecords He didn't save it (As it was a fantastic show already), but he did possibly make it even more hilarious than it already was. Season 6 is my favorite of the series, just one masterpiece after another.
They had such great energy together. Everything was just comedy gold. I always smile when the two of them are in a scene
Best dynamic in curb is Leon and Larry
Idk Susie and Jeff or Susie and Larry are up there
Richard and Larry easily are the best!!
larry and leon could keep me engaged all day
no
@@joshmcpherson5868 facts
The Leon character is so perfect as a foil for Larry. He's so different but has the same DFAF attitude toward things that they egg each other on. But then Leon says so many wild-eyed things that it almost makes Larry seem reasonable when he goes off and does those typical Larry things that are so funny.
I don’t think I’ve ever clicked on a video faster. He’s the best!
Crazy Eyez Killa walked so that Leon could run.
Cool de la
Crazy? Krazy? Cray-Z?
Yes 😂
😂😂
"I brings the ruckus" gets me every time. Especially having seen the blooper reel where that line absolutely cracks Larry 😂
Leon and Marty Funkhouser were my two favorites. 🎉
Rip
They both elevated the show beyond belief. And the show was already brilliant.
"I don't fly baby, you gotta have a I.D. for that sh*t"
😂😂😂😂
Saddest thing about curb ending is no more Leon
Leon needs a spinoff
He needs a prequel.
Yea, seriously. I don't know if his character is appreciated enough for how funny he is
@@thomasmartin4281 -
Nah. Leon on needs to be treated like George Lucus' version of Darth Vader. A little bit went a long way and brought the bank.
@@thomasmartin4281yoooo I’m here for a spinoff
The way JB keeps talking in and out of character is amazing lol
like the rest of them, the character is based on his real personality. thats why this show works so well and feels so natural.
I'm pretty sure this is just Leon Black pretending to be an actor
@@jackag24 💯 and it’s perfect
He’s talented
A true masterclass on comedy. JB's insights are pure genius.
He’s Curb’s Kramer!
Yes and they actually made that clear in the finale. If you pay attn you'll catch it.
I can't thank Larry enough for continuing Curb after six years gap. I feel that show really gets the recognition it deserves these days.
Back in 2011. it felt like nobody cared, and it really was a big deal when the show came back.
E JACK A LIT
The whole black family moving in was brilliant
my favorite season still
Don't you mean Black Family? 😂😂
@@bigstunna2049Seasons 6 and 7 are easily the best two. They stand alone in whatever order you want. Then 3, 4, 5, and 8 come next, again in whatever order.
JB is the only actor/comedian I know who watched his favorite TV show and said "I am going to be on that show".... And actually did it. He literally casted himself before Larry even knew who he was.
One of the all time great comedy duos. JB and Larry are amazing together.
Absolutely genius. And I would PAY to watch those outtakes.
I’m so glad Leon didn’t leave with the rest of the family 😂
Nah this is Leon playin JB Smoove
I always love that Leon never hesitated to throw Larry under the bus!
Larry David redeemed himself with this ending, considering how exactly alike to the Seinfeld ending.
It was perfect
I believe it was a big F U to the people saying Seinfeld ending was bad like this is the ending and I’m sticking to it by recreating it in a way love it
He doubled down and it was excellent. Gotta say, Bruce Springsteen added some unexpected comedy chops in the end.
Leon spin-off is needed
I love this show....Leon and Suzie are my favorite characters. I wish leon and Susie had more interactions...that would be gold!😂
Leon made curb the version of itself. He made it incredible. Larry and Leon are the best duo ever. We love you, Leon.
Leon should have his own spin-off. Larry doesn't have to do anything. He can just be an exec producer, sit back and collect the cheques. (Yes, I know JB asked Larry this before and Larry said no. Ah, well.)
Leon was a much welcome and surprise addition half way through the series run and became the Black Kramer but somehow more
I had no idea there were so many complicated levels to this kind of comedy. The cast is perfection because they make it look so easy.
CURB got so much better when he joined the show. No one else could have played Leon. He was perfect for the part.
Leon was perfect!
I brings the ruckus to the ladies
JB Smoove as "Leon" was brilliant. The chemistry between he and Larry will go down as pure comedy gold
This is going to be an unappreciated interview. This is extremely quality content. S/O JB.
JBs character of Leon is the best friend we all need
So a friend that is a kramer type that avoids employment and lives in your house and eats your food. Lol yeah that works if your rich like Seinfield and Larry.
An understated Artist, Keep it up Smoove, hope to see more of ya.
Larry and Leon will go down in history as the greatest TV duo of all time. OF ALL TIME!!!
Release the tapes Larry!
JB has embraced the junior-sized urban sombrero. Love it.
He's got to be the best supporting character of all time. I wonder if other people appreciate that role as much as I do in comedy.
Him, George Costanza, Kramer, Creed Bratton, Gata, Lucile Bluth, Byron Bluth, I'm sure I'm missing others...
Byron 😂
Yeah we really need some kind of edit of all the scenes that didn’t make the show! JB is a genius on and off the show
Leon is iconic on curb J.B is a legend
One of the best actors on the show and for sure my favorite character. It's great how JB Smoove dressed like Susie Green for this 🤣
This was such an amazing interview. Will miss this show a lot and especially the Leon character
I can't watch the last season, it breaks my heart knowing there will never be more. This show is my life, i don't know how to deal with my life without Larry and Leon. I know it sounds like I'm exaggerating but I'm really not. Knowing there was more curb around the corner is probably a major reason I'm still around
Stay strong my friend seriously I can relate but there will be more things to laugh at in the future stick around
Please stay ..this is a show you will see clips of for years .There is always something funny in life or someone. Please stick around.
I wish Larry made another episode with krazy eyez. That was one of my favorites.
Thank you, JB. Forever a legend in comedy.
Love the insight into the improv process. Fascinating
everybody needs a leon in their lives...
Legendary character
I believe JB will be the star of his own “improv style” show within 3 years and HBO MAX will keep him on the payroll.
JB Smoove has become one of the best comedy actors in Hollywood giving curb your enthusiasm a whole new layer of Funny
I was glad JB Smoove was on Curb because he always made me laugh so hard until my ribcage became sore.😂😂
Best duo in history
E-jack-a-lit is a legendary beginning. Larry made Leon a permanent character at that moment.
You got to refresh the Mitzvah.😂😂😂
Ooooooooomg I am SO happy I found this! 😂❤
when JB entered the show is when it really took off
Him and Martry Funkhauser (R.I.P.) both took it to another level.
THE WORLD LOVES J.B.!!!!
There's like a genius idiocy or dumb intelligence in the Leon performance, you've gotta be super intelligent to perform that so well, JBs such a clever actor glad curb turned me onto him
Brilliant. Hysterical. Fun. Thank you for this rundown, it's priceless.
YES!!! I NEED THAT MOVIE FULL OF ALTERNATE TAKES!!!! TELL HIM, JB!!!!!
21:32 is my all time favorite Leon idea.
I can tell he be making Larry laugh cuz I know it's improv but the stuff he be coming up with like Larry literally be cracking up because I'm sure he doesn't know what Leon's about to say
Thank you JB. Unforgettable. We are delighted because you a funny sip of hot black coffee and wiv charm that is second to none. I need jb smoothin my life
All scout leaders need to be this funny and cool.
I have re watched every season at least 20x he cracks me up they all do hahahah
JB, you did a wonderful job on Curb, the show was much better off with you, thanks for the laughs!
I never knew his name.. EVER.. Till now. I always just called him Leon Black. Because that was his name on the show, and only what I knew him in happened to be, the show. Even in GTA 5, I believe he plays a talk show DJ. I call him LEON in that too.
the comedy he played out in Leon's character was pure genius!
JB is just a naturally hilarious individual
This guy cracks me up
JB - made curb what it is. legend
Forgot so many of these. Unbelievable character
Well done Mr David, well done sir … great last show with great twist at end. And bringing Jerry 2:47 back was genius . Leon asking Jerry about films of him with the woman of senders was hilarious. Jerry playing along with jB was great
Brilliant.
Leon had that unhinged energy that brought the show together.
Very insightfull.
JB IS A MASTER GENIUS!
I love how he talks about the events on the show as if they actually happened to him
I absolutely
Props to you and Raekwon to making Lampin and Lampable great slang. I'm a huge fan of the show it's interesting to hear these choices for Curb because it was always seamless sure you can see moment of the character not breaking but the improv being reacted was genuine that was kept in. Thanks J B for doing this. Like what can you do after Curb it's going to be hard to up the ante. One of the best shows ever!!!
He will never convince me that Leon is a character. If anything, the writer/actor/comedian J.B Smooth is a character that Leon Black plays.
Leon is multifaceted & complex.😊
bless you jb
What a legend
What a perfect duo, nothing beats Larry and Leon 😎
This dude is hilarious bro 😂😂😂😂 definitely slept on
Leon making those comments about Kramer was such an “OFCOURSE HE IS!” Moment
Always a Fan!! We quoted Duberstein, re: (Bar) Mitzvah Capacity, for awhile
Larry loves having Leon around because he is down to roll whenever for whatever and has his back 💯. For example the getting back of the peppitone Yankee jersey.😅
I still watch this 😂😂😂 season 5 and up I got to catch up on 1 thru 4 I only start watching 6 that meet the blacks episode got me watching this
This entire interview could have been in universe to the show and it wouldn't have made a lick of difference.
Purse snatching was one of my favorite episodes 😂
A Leon Black spinoff would be AMAZING!
brilliant
They should put this video as a DVD special feature.
Great artist
