Assuming this is true, then that would mean that Flameheart broke free of this manipulation and is actively fighting to see the sea of thieves liberated from Ramsey, although it seems he’d rather control it himself
Or, Flameheart is nothing more than a creation of the Pirate Lords nightmares.

I know this is an unpopular opinion but I hope for more crossovers in the future. Literally Pirate's Life is what taught us fully what the Sea of the Damned is, and as you brought out, Monkey's Island showed us another layer of this other world. I'm not against SoT becoming a platform for all pirate IPs to merge and become one big pirate sandbox. Gimme One Piece and Peter Pan pls. Anyway, yeah Pirate's Life gave us in game activity from Cap'n and we still haven't revealed who he is. Flameheart's still not resurrected and we have yet to see what comes of Hogarth being the new Gold Hoarder. We don't know what became of DeMarco and what Lesedi will do next. The next adventure HAS to be in line with Briggsy's storyline to explain the siren skull event. There's a lot of hype things coming, they just made us wait a long time for all of them 😢

Wait........does this main that the Pirate Lord could be a.......bad guy? Maybe. And maybe Flameheart's already escaped his prison. But how did LeChuck know the Pirate Lord's true name? And how could he disguise himself as the Pirate Lord?
I think Ramsey could me more like Guybrush, trapped within his own memories, don't even realising he is living an illusion. And it includes Flameheart, he could be the a manifestation of Ramsey's nightmares.

If this is the case (amazing theory btw) I feel like the Sea of Thieves is more likely to be a collective manifestation. Considering the Pirate Lord has enemies like Flameheart, who appear to be actual people, as well as the player who is definitely a real person, it would make a lot of sense for us all to collectively be manifesting our own adventures, so the Pirate Lord isn't singlehandedly responsible for everything. Still, his will, memory and understanding are stronger than anyone else's, which gives him much more power than the average joe. Not to mention, his entire faction which upholds his beliefs, to create a more wholesome environment than I would imagine a more brutal pirate might manifest (Flameheart).
What in the fuck did I miss in the storyline during my break-
Only issue here is that all the people are real, they’re very specific about that in the tall tale, how LeChuck actually filled the island with the real population of the real melee island- Only the landscape was made up

I do like the whole Sea of Memories stuff though when it comes to ghosts/phantoms. People say the difference between the two is that ghosts 'have a soul', but SoT never fielded many religious ideas
Veeery interesting. This would definitely be a big dilemma among those in the Sea of Thieves. I imagine Flameheart could share this secret upon his resurrection, and cause mayhem with just a few words. If the Sea of Thieves is indeed the creation of the Pirate Lord's memories, so real that even he can't fully comprehend it, would that mean that us, the people who were seemingly invited here, are just his creations as well? Would it mean Flameheart and the Reapers are more correct than we thought? This would have some seriously fun lore implications if correct.
However, a few things do go against this. Not to disprove it or anything because, of course, this is speculation. But if the Pirate Lord requires our help when his vision of the Sea of Thieves is under threat, then where was he during the Pirate's Life tall tale events? Davy Jones sought to control the Sea of the Damned himself, and thus choosing who lives and who dies. He'd have total control of pretty much everything if that were to happen. And yet Ramsay was nowhere to be seen? Too much happened during those events for him to just stay quiet and never mention. We see Pendragon and other ghost captains appear, yes, but they could've easily been acting of their own accord. Pendragon could've simply rallied them himself after having met with Jack.
I dunno, I'm just venting my thoughts.

I can already see how in the final battle for Sea of Thieves, the Pirate Lord snaps his fingers and Flameheart disappears, and then says something like: Well, that was just a tutorial, I invite you to a real fight.
This was very good theory, but something is wrong in The Sea of Thieves and Pirate lord... We know, but still i believe in good and be in Athena's Fortune crew!!! and maybe believe to the Dark mystery and history of The Pirate Lord... "We shall sail together" (+ good video more like these! I have said it before. The actual Sea Of Thieves is very small and very cramped. In it's ealier interations it was a horrendous place of murder of new bloods at a stupendous and ruinous rate.
You can't get out. Ramsey won't let you out. You can't even DIE to escape. Is this the Sea Of Thieves Ramsey sells to us? He holds the keys. He is a warden. He is the servant of the Grand Mechant Alliance he was fleeing. He mentions them in the tutorial. We never hear of them again.
Why?
Because the Sea of Thieves is an old school Penal Colony, and Ramsey is the warden who holds the keys. And that Grand Merchant Alliance fears Pirates no more. They have all been jailed long ago.
And they don't even know it.
Damn why’s everyone against Ramsey at the end of the day, he just wants a place of piracy and freedom. Would you rather go outside of the shroud? Back to civilization, back to the hardship and struggle of the trading companies and the complexities of the world?

i always thought The Cap'n was gonna be Ramseys Remains and The Pirate Lord, his Soul. This vibes with that so well.
This would also mean that the random pirate generator is just picking a memory of an old pirate from his memory. Also the appear like ghosts and disappear the same way like the sea of the dammed.
Maybe the good old saying "never trust a pirate outside of your crew” can be applied to npcs as well 🤔

@@theneondragon004 I mean, do we know anything about Ramsey in his time outside of the sea of thieves? Maybe Flameheart is a manifestation of Ramseys old self and through the power of the sea of thieves, Ramsey was able to banish/ suppress him. Up until now that is.
The novels Athena's Fortune and Heart of Fire tell the origins of both Ramsay and Flameheart respectively, and are considered canon by Rare. Although the idea of Flameheart being a manifestation of Ramsay's darker side is very compelling. Perhaps the reason why Flameheart is not yet physically resurrected is because the Sea of Thieves does not yet reflect enough of Ramsay's dark side?
if the sea of thieves itself is influenced by the will of ramsey and (we could assume) the player (since they can either choose to side with the pirate lord or with flameheart), that explains how we have a direct impact on the story when we have voting adventures
when the fuck are we going to see flameheart in the flesh like enough is enough we need to forget the sidequest and need to return to main story

HOLD ON A MINUTE. What if this is a dream within the mind of a child? That would explain the collaborations, because most of the are rated around 12 years old. It could be a kid really into pirates, but also likes video games. "Now this is what I like to see, a grand adventure (Fueled by video games with an amazing adventure), a fight to the death (Fueled by fighting games), and a great big pile of treasure (As stated before, the kid would like pirates, and what would a pirate be without booty?).

I've been saying this to my friends for months, the Pirate Lord just seems a little too nice, almost like he's manipulating us. Given the choice between serving Flameheart and Ramsey, I'm picking Ramsey, but I think we need a third option.
This is such an epic theory. I love it! It would explain so much. The SoT could reflect his state of sanity. Should the nightmare called Flameheart take over, would Ramsey lose his mind? What would that mean for the seas? It also explains all the disjointed storylines, plotholes and open ends. There could be gaps in his memories, they could even have changed over the centuries (or manipulated?). Perhaps he can’t distinguish dream from memory. This would turn the whole game into philosophy. Are we all just figments of his imagination, fighting for him to maintain his sanity? Is he in a hospital somewhere, in a coma, and SoT plays in his head?
So he's a politician
So that means Flameheart is just the "hero" trying to liberate the Pirate Lord from his self imposed illusion?
And The Pirate Lord is just some dream master that is trying to perpetuate his lucid dream (using us) for all eternity? Wild.
