1959 was such a cool year for gear, I mean Les Paul juniors, 59’ tweed basemans, slab board Stratocasters, and the legendary 59 les Paul standards (bursts). Just a great year for gear.
Thanks for sharing. I have my late fathers collection of vintage Guitars, their heirlooms for my children. My dad always knew they would be going to me but the fact that i'm left handed really pissed him off. I have my own collection of southpaws a couple of oldies i have accumulated but nothing like my old mans, it's frankly, if you have Gas, jaw dropping. Just in the process of photographing them for Keith Williams at 5 Watt. I played Strats upside down when i was a kid but only through necessity he held off buying me my first left hander to see if i would stick it out.He was happy when he passed. I wasn't i lost my best jamming partner.
All of your guitars are amazing! ‘59 Tele and V are ridiculous for me…really, all of them. I particularly pay attention to your posts when you put up Tone Tips. Your Tone is ALWAYS amazing 🤩 I’ve learned so much, thank for passing it on! Would love to see a breakdown of your amps as well? 😂 LOL just seeing the end of your post!!!
That is a sweet collection you put together brother! What a difference a year makes! I'm happy for you brother you work hard and put out great free content and never ask for anything in return. Much Love and Respect!!!
Nik mate you never come across as bragging. You're just a working dude that has some really cool guitars that well shoot if you love guitars your going to want to see. Right.I fired of my first comment after watching at work not fully paying full attention cheers for the mention man.
YOU SCORED WITH EVERY ONE OF THOSE GUITARS! THE 57 TELE, SCREAMS! THE 59 TELE IS CREAMY AND SPUNGY! THE STRAT, SOUNDS LIKE 1959, AND THE V WHAT CAN I SAY, ITS KILLA!
Great VIdeo! Love that you are making these videos again. I really have learned a lot from your previous work. It made it easier for me to identify and purchase authentic vintage pedals/guitars.
Killer collection Nik God bless ya man Would like to hear some comparison demo's w top shelf new CS piece's and your axe's Give people an idea of what's what if they can't go the vintage route Good stuff 👍
@@theriffwniksevigny5473 I've got to say that through all of this you have inspired me to check out a 59 strat. I loved it, sound, fretboard. I couldn't afford a real one but I managed to get a custom shop beauty. It's a heavy relic which didn't matter to me but the neck, fretboard and pickups which are overwound Texas specials are what sold me. On my bucket list one day is still a true 59. Thanks man!
Hubert Sumlin licks off Howlin Wolf’s early recordings, please! The pocket ion those grooves were so deep. Not complicated, but the timing is pretty dope?
Nik your playing has really gotten better man. Great collection. Slide tip: learn to play with your fingers. All the muting and dynamics will be right there.
love yer collection ,especially the tele custom oh baby !.....i've got about the same amount of guitars ( non vintage) , my ES-335 (GIBSON) tis a monster cherry bomb.....thanks fellow guitardo.
I love that neck pickup goodness on the maple neck strat…that JLV, early B.B. and Simo picking so close to the bridge right above the bridge pickup! Beautiful sounds man!
hi nik , well , i would say you still have a collection off guitars many people can only dream about . Overhere in the Netherlands real vintage are rare and super expensive . For me it makes no sense to have 20-30 guitars and 10 amps ect. , i have always said to myself i want to stick too an tele and strat , an lp en ES 335 and a acoustic , this provides me all the well known guitarsounds . My fenders are partscaster and the others are epi's , they all sound and play great though , so i am happy with them , keep on rocking .
Appreciate your comment! I went from 21 guitars a few years ago and not be happy or focused to 6 electrics( LP-LP Jr-335-Strat-Tele-Gretsch Tennessean) and 04 Gibson Hummingbird and 60’s Gibson EB2 Bass! So much happier and focused!
@@theriffwniksevigny5473 really? I thought the bit you played here was good mate. Sounded like you had it down. Ive been trying to get into slide for a while. Started on acoustic trying to sound a bit like Rory Gallagher. I just dont get as much time at it as i would like. Open tuning is like learning from scratch the fretboard.
Lovely video and great set of guitars! Was wondering about the neck dimensions on your 59 strat, have you measured the depth at 1st and 12th fret? Chheers
Random question I'm not sure you could even answer but were the pickups in Stevie's Number One actually 1959 pickups? Obviously we know he claimed to have seen 59 or 1959 written on the pickups but that doesn't line up with pickups from that era right? Also didn't Rene say that he didn't see anything written on the pickups? We know it's not unlikely for years to be mismatched when built at Fender but 59 year pickups on a 62/63 year body and neck? Seems like a big jump in time unless they were added by Cross. Also, were any of the pickups ever rewound as some have stated particular by Van Zandt? Just curious your opinion on the subject. I know there's a lot of debate about it.
I get excited when I see an old tweed case. I lose my damn mind when I see a brown Tolex case! I am after a Custom Tele right now. Of course it won’t be a vintage original. The AVRI ‘62/American Original will suffice.
What amp did you play that Whiteguard Esquire through? That jam kinda reminded me of Joe Walsh's James Gang years & Jim McCarty on the Cactus cover of 'Parchman Farm'. Man what a tone, you're an amazing guitarist...
@@theriffwniksevigny5473 maybe do another video on that. That video really inspired me to start building a partscaster. Just waiting on the neck right now 😁
Soss!!!!! I’m shaking my head son😮! You got the mother lode there sir! They all sound incredibly awesome (individually)! What amp did you use for this demo? 👍🇦🇺
cool guitars! I just traded my 57 strat for a 55. we have similar tastes though... I have a 60 strat and a 60 tele custom (both have a body date of 10/60, how cool is that?)
Nik...stupid question time!!...those ‘57’s are 64 yrs old now...how old do you think the wood was that Leo was using at the time of production??...do you think he was using old seasoned wood or newly cut ??...just wondering!!

I wonder if Buddy Holly touched that Tele...or even knocked it over. That would be the shizz.
