    Damn, I thought I'd be on the fence at $100, but at $200, that's a hard nope, especially considering that for 100 more, you could get an Arcade 1up cabinet. Yeah, it's bigger, but it's also significantly better.

    • @PonderingtheNonsense
      @PonderingtheNonsense 5 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      The Switch Lite is a practical, pedestrian product for playing games. Numskull's units are art pieces meant to celebrate the golden age of the arcade and the striking visual tour-de-force that defined it. In other words, the former is a toy, the latter a way to preserve the past.

      @@PonderingtheNonsense yea but for what ???? U can literally download those games on a toaster. They pretty much are trying to capitalize on your nostalgia. Which is pretty fucking sad considering the games dont take much to run. The most expensive thing is probably the labor to put them together. Yeah 200 bucks for wood and a 30 year old game ??? Small arcades/mini arcades seem only good if they still try to factor in some good size, like it doesn't need to be full on 6 ft, but if i dont plan to move the thing anyway, the smallest they should make them is like at least 3ft tall.

    • @PonderingtheNonsense
      @PonderingtheNonsense 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's important to note that these are meant primarily for display purposes--a tangible way to celebrate the lost art of arcade cabinet design and stylings from thirty years ago. The cabinet is wood, the joystick is a micro-switch, the art is a perfect duplication of the original--these are celebrations of a nigh, dying form. The fact that these are actually playable on top of everything else is just icing on an already tasty cake.

      At least the Neo-Geo mini has a functional analog stick that is not going to cramp or stress the wrist to use and it has 40 games preinstalled to use which is better than the SNK switch cart that comes preinstalled with 20 and free DLC for 15 more. Sorry but 40 games on something that remotely resembles how they were originally played is more worth the price. And it doesn't need to hookup to the TV, it just needs a power source, be it a wall outlet or a car adapter to USB port.

    First of all, great video as usual. Second, I've seen reviews on these types of smaller upright arcade games before, but no one mentions if there is some sort of equivalent to the set of DIP switches that are on the back of every arcade game. They control things such as how many guys you start the game with, what score you have to achieve to get awarded a free guy, etc. Do these smaller versions have something equivalent or are you just stuck with the settings out of the box?
