Conversion of the rust is really the same. Either products use phosphoric or tannic acid (tannic doesn’t smell as bad and we use tannic)…. But the real difference is in the quality of the resin. That’s the hard part that stays behind as the primer. The rusts gone has a premium resin in it and that’s really what is separating products. It’s not “new” technology, just a more industrial version.

Exactly. Phosphoric acid easily converts iron oxide to iron phosphate. Fe2O3 + H3PO4 → FePO4 + 3H2O

Rust converter is nothing. Only at way of Cosmoline doing its job. Cosmoline and Lanoline it is all.
