Salts Gone™ is a product of Custom Chemicals and Coatings. We are a coatings and chemical manufacturing company located in Houston, TX.
Salts Gone was originally created as a surface preparation method for cleaning salts off of industrial projects like offshore platforms, ships etc. The salt needed to be 100% removed in order to provide a clean surface for long lasting coatings.
Salts Gone was created to be an environmentally friendly product that paint could be applied directly over. This made it a perfect product for many different industries including automotive, food processing and marine.

Salts Gone Services Mobile Rig Walk Through
This showed no evidence it actually works.
Vinegar does the same thing.
That’s pretty impressive.
This costs $65.00 a gallon.
Do you recommend using a wire wheel on the area prior to application?
You can do the same thing with distilled white vinegar
I would like to build one in Miami
Best stuff out there. I’ve been plowing with my truck since it was new in 17. You can’t even tell it’s been used for plowing. Not a spec of rust underneath.
Awesome! Thanks for taking the time to share your experience!
Can this be painted over or does it need to breath? If it can be how long till it can be painted over? Also is this self healing or can it be chipped away like normal paint?
How do you know you’re getting the 1:100 ratio in that setup?
Appreciate the video 👍
Thank u for the video 🙏
Good for Boat trailer being dunked in salt water over and over?
What website is available that sells this? Would like to use this on an undercarriage
So this is essentially the best product for undercoating an undercarriage? What are the steps to apply on a rusty undercarriage
Must be nice having a lift
What size needle in the HLPV gun?
Looks like it'll come right back under the paint
L
He's not... You're welcome
I'm wondering where all that water is going on the shop floor lol
The drain..? Lol
Can you also paint over the top coat, or leave it as is? Is the top coat able to be in the sun?
The Thixo-Trop is light fast. The rusts gone product is NOT light fast and needs to be top coated. You can apply any product of your choosing over either product.
Needa Separated Enclosed Bay To Handle That SaltySpray Cleanup 🧼
This is a place where a brand-new car should roll into as soon as it is driven out of the showroom... i cant wait to do it to my 22 year old 4Runner
What type gun are you spraying with in this video?
Offbrand ass flex-seal
But does it freeze in cold weather
Would that free up frozen parts
That looks really nice now
That would look good under cars and trucks
That's called take your car to the carwash and wash it! Playing water even with soap does the same thing
I’ve always been told coating rust with anything will trap in moisture and accelerate the rusting? Is this true with this product?
I’ll Telya we are to start a petition to get them to use something else on the roads you don’t realize how far and how deep that salt gets into your car I was doing something on the wife’s car one time, and I was way deep into the body and unscrewed some thing insult started falling out
It was $44 like last week. Now up to $60 a week later? Seems like a lot for a quart.
A quart of the rusts gone goes a very long way. Unless working commercially it completes most anybody’s project without needing more…. But things are always expensive compared to what. The time to grind it all away or repaint it when it fails. But we’re sure not twisting your arm that you need it if it’s out of your budget.
Kid that undah-care-ij is wicked clean dude!
Where is the video? Can't find the discussion
meanwhile that $1400 auto armor you're paying for at the dealership doesn't do anything. why you might ask? because the dealership doesn't clean the underneath of the vehicle, then pays some kid minimum wage with no knowledge of cars to spray one litre of the product. Even on bigger vehicles like trucks and SUVs. I've literally watched them spray it over mud, dirt, salt, rocks, etc. then ship it. I tried explaining to mgmt that you need to wash the entire underneath first, let it fully dry, then a minimum of 3-4 litres on even a Civic. Their reply....the customer is paying for a warranty. Don't worry about it, and do your own job. Little does the customer know that warranty doesn't cover shit!
accurate
they’re all idiots and just care about profit. I agree. You want something done right you just have to do it yourself
Where do you get something like this done?
Put that ford in a dress and give it a "Bud light".
Would like to build one in our city. How can we get in contact?
We're they able to respond back to you ?
I'm interested, as well, in ENC. Any response?
Interested as well, did anyone receive any info?
My detective skills noticed the Boston accent. Are these guys in Wakefield, MA?
Long term review? How long does it last before it rusts again?
the metal is essentially passivated at this point, so until you expose it to the elements for a period of time.
If you rest your foot on your side step while it’s down then close the door it will stay down
hah got so many suggestions from people on that made a video on our tik tok
“Dad left it out in the rain” Sounds like it’s payback time, son!
Hah he did kind of throw him under the bus....
He was doing you a favor.
I didn't say it I didn't say it! lol
Call it what you want to call it. We appreciate when people send us or tag us in their videos!
@@saltsgone Oh my! I didnt realize this was the manufacturer channel. I see the product works wonders! Just saying.... well nvm, Green army will come after me.
Wow, that stuff worked really well!
Not its primary function, but a good visual!
How is this product different from rust converter offerings from Loctite, Rust-Oleum etc.?
Conversion of the rust is really the same. Either products use phosphoric or tannic acid (tannic doesn’t smell as bad and we use tannic)…. But the real difference is in the quality of the resin. That’s the hard part that stays behind as the primer. The rusts gone has a premium resin in it and that’s really what is separating products. It’s not “new” technology, just a more industrial version.
Very nice
Thanks
Expensive
not for everybody
@@saltsgone I've bought plenty, just saying.
Quesiton, so how does it work to items that are attached to engine and can’t “soak” it in full concrete ? Do u just spray and leave it on ..? Help would be nice Ty
yes particularly just surface rust, like under cowlings etc.
