It's nice to see husband & wife representing the next level tv reviews. You guys are hitting a sweet spot that tvs is not just a guy thing but a family thing. My wife used to hate tv stuff until we bought an A80J 65" two years ago and sees how much stuff can be done with it.
Having Jen there is definitely going to help out from a moms point of view when we guys want to upgrade a 65 to a 77". Good job!

Awesome video! Love this sit down style with Jen! As a woman, I really like her input. Definitely keep adding her more. I took your advice along with FOMO, KG, Classy, and Brian on my 65” Sony a90j in 2021. Fantastic OLED and No issues at all but I’m definitely interested in QD OLED and the LG G3 for more brighter, vibrant colors. I can’t wait to see the comparisons. Thanks for the great content!

Great content. Just small clarification on Dolby Vision it’s not just some other standard similar to HDR10 - it’s more advanced to hdr10 it’s contains information scene by scene rather than general min and max luminosity for entire movie. In some movies hdr10 results in crashed detail in dark scenes or bright scenes. DV because contains meta data for each scene makes sure it doesn’t happen, similar to HDR10+ - that’s why they are called dynamic HDR vs static HDR10. DV is already a standard as every single movie is mastered in DV, very few if any these days in HDR10+. Samsung is losing some sales because of it. One can set tone mapping to dynamic hoping Samsung processing will do great job but question is whether it does make sure no detail is crushed

  • @jamied1579

I use a Panasonic UB9000 and a UB820 on my Samsung Q900 8K. The TV always defaults to HDR10 and The Panasonic players have a HDR Optimiser function which always helps ensure you're getting a very vibrant and dynamic picture which I think makes up for any lack of Dolby Vision.
My friend just bought the 65" version of the S95C and I have to say it's very impressive. Holy crap is it Bright! The only issue we had was it didn't include the screws to hang the one-connect box on the back of the stand, but other than the he's in love...lol

@@gamerss7797 I am coming from a Hisense U8G and I find the blacks are much deeper especially with off angle viewing. With the Hisense, you had to be perfectly centered in front of the tv at all times. If you’re referring to Quantum’s channel, that guy is filled with negativity and misinformation. Just my two cents.

What does the “one” box accomplish if you mount it on the stand? Or if you mount it to the back of the tv if you’re wall mounting the tv? Is there a long enough one box cable to put it in your entertainment center and then only have that one cable to the tv??

Curious...For the very best picture for almost dark room viewing, would you choose the s95c or 900b 8k? Both 65 inch. Also would you be able to tell much difference in a 65 inch 8k? Some say a 65 inch 8k is not worth getting over a 65 inch 4k like the s95c. And I don't play video games. What do you all think?

I have the QN90B 75" that I just bought in Feb. I really wanted the OLED but didn't want a 65". Now that they've come out with the 77", is it worth me upgrading to it? Is there a major difference between the QN90B and the S95B? Thank you.

  • @nihren2406
    @nihren2406 ปีที่แล้ว

So serious question. One of the big concerns people have with QD-OLED's isn't necessarily their performance, but rather that wine red tint that the screen has. It's at its most obvious when the TV is off and if you shine light directly on it. But that's when it's not really in use. The tint looks slightly duller on the S95C than it did on the S95B or A95K, but it's still there. And I know there are quite a few people who are curious if that tint is noticeable during real content, if it messes with the blacks.

This review came just in time, have been thinking of buying a TV and I was waiting to see how S95C fares. Appreciate your detailed answers, already got most of my questions. I am or was, interested in creating that, "Samsung ecosystem", already got a Samsung Q810B soundbar. Also appreciate the installation steps. I can't mount it, but the stand is helpful.
I had some questions, if you guys would be interested to answer:
    1. Not on all the time, but will you keep it on standby? Whatever refreshing programs the TV runs to avoid burn-in, apparently run while in standby mode.
    2. Are the colours "true"ish or sometimes saturated, like S95B? Is the Tizen OS easier to use this time?
    3. Would you consider the picture quality comparable to last year's Sony A95K? LG C2/G2?
    Thanks!

Great presentation as always. Very informative. Currently thinking about placing a wall mounted 77" OLED in the Master Bedroom, this Samsung might be a good alternative. However have been liking the new LG OLED EVO G3 in 77". Thinking that might be a better option. But my real question is, wanting a recommendation for replacing our 83" Sony A90J in great room with a 97-98 inch big screen with similar quality OLED experience. To be honest when looking at the 83" TV from our wrap around couch at 13.5-14 feet, the 83" really isn't that immersive. However it seems that the 97-98 inch big screen might be just large enough to get that immersive experience even when watching commercial 4K Blu-ray titles in 2.40:1 or 2.39:1. Currently of the 42 4K Blu-ray's about 80% of them are between 2.35:1 - 2.40:1. And 21 of them are 2:40:1. The 83" just isn't really doing it. With the idea about projectors and Ultra short throw triple laser type TV's (with the included ALR) it turns out that's not really a good option. We have the sliding glass doors directly off the great room leading out to the covered patio with barbeque, sundeck and seating area. Don't want a washed out looking image showing on an ALR screen (during the daytime, when watching either sports or racing like MotulSBK, MotoGP and Formula One).
Already have a 12' Diagonal Stewart projector screen upstairs with using a Native 4K triple laser Sony Projector, so that's the ideal place to watch all the Cinemascope 4K Blu-ray movies for serious home theater experience. However, honestly everyone rather hang out downstairs in the great room, which is directly open to the kitchen and all the snacks, refrigerator and the outdoor covered patio barbeque/sundeck area. Any ideas?

I guess that would kind of depend on the movie and person watching. G3 appears more accurate. Qd oled’s have better looking color to my eyes. G3 has best white color. I would go with qd-oled personally because I don’t care about accuracy as much as I do deep, rich colors.

It looks excellent and very bright in the videos but I definitely would wait for the Sony x95L besides the fact Sony supports Dolby Vision which has always looked great on my TVs. I have the Sony Z9K beast they decided not to upgrade and replace this year so I'm happy and no dog in this fight but certainly would want to see how good the new L looks before I plunked down the money whether I cared about Dolby Vision or not.
Sony tends to have such depth and 3d look to their top end sets I'd certainly wait myself. The Z9K not counting 8k just looks so much more bright and life like with the 3d depth to the picture I can't imagine it looking any different to what I have without the extra up scaling to 8k. You also have the advantage they will send you the L when it's available and you'll be able to compare them side by side and help you and us pick the best one for what we want for the money we have.

If I heard it right the S90C will not necessarily have the new panel... they will mix and match and limit those with the new panels to be like the old panels. Seems like an awful move, because in that case why shouldn't I just buy the S95B at a great discount? Even when they have sold out all old panels, the S90C won't be quite as attractive, except for better reliability. But is that worth spending what, twice as much?

@@FrowningTaco Yeah, it's a matter of getting the timing right. The thing is, the S90C appears to be a S95B in a new dress at a much higher price tag, if you have bad luck. And a more reliable S95B if you have good luck. I think it's a bad move from Samsung, they should have found another way to dispose of the old panels. Maybe just make more S95B at bargain bin prices. Sell them off to some third party. etc. But not mix them with the new panels so it's a lottery.

@@kadajawi2 I agree I wish the S90C was the S95C but without the one connect box and downgraded audio but the truth is we really don't know if this won't be the case still. I mean we won't know till it's out. The S90C having a mix of old and new panels is still just speculation. I understand that the S90C will be more expensive than the S95B because the latter is a year old television. S90C will come down in price pretty soon after launch if the S95B's price drops last year are anything to go by. Samsung could also take the route of giving the S90C all new panels but software limit the brightness so as to make panel performance a reason to buy S95C.

@@FrowningTaco I wish it was too. Can't remember who said Samsung was going to use both sorts of panels, but I think I remember it being someone trustworthy with connections to Samsung. In that case they'd have to limit panel performance, which makes the thing really unattractive.

@@kadajawi2 Would you rather lottery between old and new panel? Or no lottery it just has the new panel? That said in this scenario they software limit it's capabilities to upsell S95C.

B, I got this exact TV. for 'close-sitters' its underwhelming, because the pixels are too big.
    I should've gotten the 8k

Thank you for the content but with respect I think any damage, no matter how minor is unacceptable for a TV at this price, or at any price point for that matter. In Australia this TV is priced at $7,995A ($5,262US). I would expect nothing less than perfection for that money. I returned an LG Oled a couple of years ago because of a bent panel, I am considering getting this TV, but this news is disturbing.

It seems obvious if one is going to buy a new flagship TV it would pay to wait. The top three TV's, the Sony,
Samsung QD OLEDS and the LG G3 are all going to be available relatively soon. They're all going to be expensive and have the latest technology so, why not wait for comparisons and user/reviewer reviews as well as going to the store and looking at them next to each other, preferably under light conditions that are similar to where the TV will be viewed in the home. Right now I'm thinking I'll buy a 77" Sony QD OLED but I'm waiting to see all the TV's first.

Sucks that Samsung continues to make giant high end TV's for bigger rooms, but forgets about the bedroom. I know there's a lot of people that would enjoy an OLED in their bedroom that was 50" or smaller. I wanted to upgrade to Samsung's OLED last year but the smallest they had was the 55". So, I waited till this year hoping they'd compete with LG's 48" OLED. I do love the pop of amazing color and brightness of Samsung's TV's. I guess I'll have to go with LG if I want an OLED for my bedroom.

I agree with you. A sub 55" 16:9 qd oled screen is something Samsung Display should hurry up and make.

      I have a 65” in bedroom and upgrade to a 77”.
Sales are proof that customers want larger tvs and not smaller, hence the reason they released a 77” and people want 83” next.
65” is about normal size for today and 55” is definitely bare minimum.
Anything less is monitor/desk gaming territory.

@@tears2040 .......Congratulations Frank! Consider my mind blown with excitement that you can fit a 65" to 77" TV in your bedroom 👍👏.
Not everyone can fit a TV those sizes in a bedroom but would still like a high end OLED from Samsung that's smaller than 50" and competes with LG and their smaller OLED's. And there's obviously demand for smaller OLED's because LG sells a lot of the 48" OLED's, and continues to produce them because of their popularity.

Good video. Everyone has different needs and different pocket depth for buying. Example for me the build quality and HDMI and Dolby matters. So combine 3 - LG wins. Sure C3/G3 will be better. Can't beat 4 HDMI ports. So my needs make all 3 good. Gaming room - Gonna buy new G3. Bedroom (where I watch most shows and movies and don't need 4 HDMI ports) - Sony (will be buying the new OLED model this year). Living room - already have a 8 yr old 80 inch Bravia 4K Sony (it's because I hardly watch TV in Living room meaning the least used TV in home and yet it's perfectly capable when it's ON even today.) Samsung just is so cheaply made. It shows. So with this setup, I am done for another 7-8 yrs LOL. Buy once, buy right and buy quality.
