I am still searching, when I take the dog out for a walk, I wear an osprey. I don’t know which one it is, but it’s the larger fanny pack, when I go to the store, I carry the green room side, but it’s a little small for my blind man’s stick to fit in and there’s really no attachment points on the bag to put the stick. Green room side keep
I picked up the Aviator in the grey colour ( very nice!) and can attest that it handily fits my A6700 with a SmallRig base plate attached with a Viltrox Pro lens attached. This makes for a very lightweight and discreet camera bag with handy outside pockets for keys and wallets , etc. I am looking forward to using this one for travels. I was also very impressed by its quality, so much so that I immediately ordered another Tomtoc sling, the 1.5 ltr. Slingbean in green ( super cute and just as well made!)
The 2.5L version is sold out and tomtoc let me know they don't plan on restocking it. I also have the 1.5L which is really only good for compact cameras like my RX100.
For an a6100 with a similar size lens to the one on your a7c, would you recommend one of the bellroy bags or this tomtoc aviator? I’m mostly concerned with which bag “looks” smaller on your body and which one provides more padding. Thanks for your help!
Check out my other videos for a Bellroy comparison. In that one I test fit with an A6400 with the 20mm f2.8 lens which is one of the smallest lenses for sony apsc. I fit it in the Lite Mini and the Venture 6L. If you only want to carry your A6100 with either the kit lens or the 20mm, the 4L Lite Mini is about as small as you can go. With this tomtoc you can fit it in sideways which would allow you to go with any lens. The Bellroy 6L is similar in size to the tomtoc in reality, but the tomtoc is a little smaller. I prefer the tomtoc currently. The one downside is it doesn't self compress when not fully loaded. That's the best design aspect of Bellroy sling. Hope that helps.
great video, thank you for the comparison between the two models, it was very helpful. Could you share the name (or type) of the pouches shown? I mean the one for the multitool and the "medkit"
Thanks for the comment! To be honest, both of those pouches came from a local store called Daiso. Basically a Japanese dollar store (I'm in socal). If you can find a store like that, they have a ton of small pouches for a couple bucks each. Hope that helps!
Which do you prefer...Now I already have T21 the old version not XPAC Version about 2 years and looking for a new edc bag...Do you recommend to brought The Aviator-T33 or upgrade my new edc bag to T21 XPAC Version.
Wish I could. After going through a bunch of more expensive options I ended up just buying a bunch at a store called Daiso local to me. Kind of a Japanese dollar store with tons a pouches of all sizes.
Thanks for the reply, it is very helpful because i found out there is a Daiso right next to my neighborhood lol. Gonna go there to get a couple as well! I bought the bag too because of your video really appreciate it!
John- Best T33 video. I would use it for travel or day hiking. I'm not a gamer or techie. My load out would be a 600ml bottle of water, rain jacket or vest rolled up, compact Canon point and shoot camera, 2 oz bottle of hand sanitizer, sunglasses, battery backup, pack of floss, and EDC penlight. Clipped on a carabiner would be a baseball cap. What do you think?
I think with a full size water bottle like that, you may have to be creative with how you put the other things in but I think you might be able to make all of that work.
Excellent video! First time watching and you brought up several great points like how it stands by itself and how it "slings"across your front chest. QUESTION: Would you buy this one (aviator t-33) or this other one by Tomtoc and it's cheaper. Thank you again.tomtoc Compact EDC Sling Bag, Minimalist Chest Shoulder Sling Backpack Crossbody Bag for Men and Women
Dahhh! I should have realized that! There's so many different models of tomtoc where they don't list the "number like T21 or T33. Thank you again, a very informative video, have a great holiday weekend!
Looks great. The thing is T21 is quite an old design but with the sturdier(?) material. Anyway, the aviator looks great, I just want one with removal straps so I can use it as a pouch too.
Good morning I really like the review. You did a great job. I really appreciate it. My question for you is I’m visually impaired so I can’t see anything that you’re doing, but I can hear what you’re saying when you’re wearing the bag on your hip is the length go up and down the leg or does it go like if you were wearing a fanny pack almost kinda like a purse? Thank you for any feedback you’re willing to give.
Hi, thanks for your comment. This is a cross body sling, so more like a fanny pack but it's worn across the chest or back (at an angle) and not around the waist. I hope that makes sense!
Just curious but does the regular ROG Ally charger fit in the bag too? I know you mentioned charging it fits a charging cable but I was wondering if the regular brick that comes with the Ally would fit.
@@JohnScottB Thanks! I will be sure to use your link if I wind up ordering it. I've been going back and forth between different slings or going with the backpack. Looks like this might also be useful for my RX100 and a small pair of binoculars on hikes. I had a Tom Bihn side effect for that but it was a little cramped.
I have the Explorer also but don't like how rigid the back of it is. Is the Aviator's back more flexible, allowing you to hug your chest better? Thanks for your time
Yes it's a little less structured than the Explorer. The design of the strap system helps with the "chest hugging" a bit as well. But if that is a priority, my Bellroy slings do a much better job of confirming to whatever contours.
I've been using the aviator for a few days and it indeed is more malleable than the explorer. Out of curiosity, what do you use your bellroy bags for vs the aviator?
@molohov3875 I use the T33 daily because it's relatively cheaper and my work place can be super dirty and rough. For Bellroy, I only wear it for travel or when I'm not working. Then again I own way too many slings.
I don't have a Steam Deck to test this with but I think it'd be a tight fit, if it were to fit. Tomtoc does make a dedicated bag for the Steam Deck that has extra protection if that's the primary thing you want to carry. amzn.to/3BfDoqA
Hey! I bought the bag after reading your comment to try it out. The steam deck without a case fits easily into it. With a slim case it’s a very tight fit. Furthermore I’m carrying charger (15w) and a power bank (10k) with me in the sling.
What's your current favorite sling bag?
Tomtoc is great. i have one for my Steam Deck. Very good bag. But for my camera, i use K&F 10L.

Big thank you!!! Finally found a photographers review of the bag!!! I know now my Fuji XT5 with the pancake lens will fit easily!!! 😊👍

The T21 isn't quite large enough for my needs so I would take the T33 all day. But if it's working for you, stick with it!

Yep it will fit 100%, there's plenty of room depthwise for quite a lot of other stuff.

Great overview! I like the digest of the explorer a bit more with the dual tone
So u cant use Tomtoc Aviator T33 3.5L as a waist-bag ? Thanks!
The strap is too big for most people to use this as a waist / hip pack. I certainly couldn't, and it's not close.
Do you think steam deck fits
