    Thank you for taking the time to make this interesting and informative tutorial video on the startup, taxi, take-off, and landing of the Hawker Typhoon Mk.1b for us.

    As Always, great tutorial. I had a good read on the notes before taking this bird up. First impression was that it had a tremendous yaw to the left, .. I mean hugely tremendous. This got me clued in, as when I fond myself slow and low making hand turns trying to dog fight, I nearly stalled and ended up a pavement pizza. So no slow right hand turns from now on. Keep the speed up on this beauty when fighting

    Am I correct that fuel tanks selector switch cannot be operated manually in this simulator? I noticed this is always being switched automatically, by equal intervals of time

    • @RequiemsACTL

      Correct. All fuel management outside of mixture setting is automatic

  • @MistaWeeGee

    I don't understand "The Landing Lights Lever" on the throttle quadrant. When you select the landing lights it flips the switch marked as landing lights on the panel and the lever on the quadrant doesn't move. I was wondering what the lever was meant to do as it seems odd to put the landing lights on the throttle quadrant

    • @RequiemsACTL
      @RequiemsACTL  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It controls the angle of the light bulb itself

    I like how these videos detail all the interior components as though the game had dcs-esque clickable cockpits. A simmer can only dream...

    • @RequiemsACTL
      @RequiemsACTL  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We never know when things can change, so I like to cover my bases but it's good to know what's in your cockpit even though we can't use all of directly

    • @no.7893
      @no.7893 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RequiemsACTL Yeah, sometimes having a visual reference for what the keys on your keyboard are doing can be helpful. As hopeful as i am i doubt theyll add clickable cockpits in any time soon, though it'd be nice to be wrong on that one :-/

    Why is the canopy open at take off and landing?

    • @RequiemsACTL
      @RequiemsACTL  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's not something you need to worry about in a sim, but in RL it stays open to let you exit the aircraft quickly and avoid the possibility of the canopy jamming shut in the event of a crash

    According to the Air Ministry Pilot Notes operating data regarding the Napier Sabre IIA engine, the max. setting for climbing is 7 lb boost and the RPM 3,700. Wheras the Napier Sabre II is 6 boost and 35,00 RPM. 4.5 boost and 31,50 is for max. rich continuous.

    I own DCS at the moment. I will never understand how you could create a Normandy map and campaigns without this aircraft. It's a no-brainer and I wish we had her. Why oh why did the Brits persist in this stupid braking system when you have two perfectly good rudder pedals which could be made for the purpose, like the USA/Luftwaffe did. Engineers love to make things illogical and harder for a pilot if they can. Grrrr!

      the tempest took the typhoon design and made it into an exceptional fighter, but the typhoon had better armor and was a more stable platform making it better suited to ground attacking, think of it as a sort of lightweight-IL2
