A HA Hi, I am not sure if that lovely compliment is for me or not. If it was, a million thanks 😊 for checking out my channel.....if it wasn’t, I total agree....SKS Props has some amazing things!
The wire on the inside works so well with the foam! I've done a couple witch hats for cosplay before - one fabric, and one foam (covered in fabric to match the costume) but this just works so neatly and so well, it's going to stay in my cosplay brain bank forever! Thank you!
@@elcatrinc1996 In the Discworld book series, they have witches and wizards. One wizard is so bad at it, he's the magical equivalent of the number 0. He also wrote 'wizzard' on his hat for no known reason.
I just happened to see your video for the most perfect witch's hat ever & I so wanna make it. So I literally just bought the cosplay starter foam pack from your site. I'm gonna make a bunch & wear them FOREVER!!!! No special reason needed!!
I was actually thinking about making a large witch hat with foam for I-No (from Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2) I figured the foam would hold It's shape and also give it an interesting leathery texture after paint... So this video could not appear to me at a better time. ♥
SusanIvanova2257 Omg yes Blair is amazing, or with some extra sculpting, Eruka with the frog hat! TBH that show has way too many awesome witch designs lol
Halloween is less than a week, and I needed a witch hat. I was going to buy one, but then I stumbled across your video, watching a different video, on how to make bat wings for my dog. And I want to say thank you, because I had everything I needed.
Thank you very much! I made my for a Walpurgisnacht party and it was a hit. I have been telling everyone to visit your channel and this is going to be my go-to from now on. Hopefully more time to get materials! I love coming up with a crazy headpiece (most proud of my Hollywood sign).
You got some really great content man! Super underrated!!!! Also I was wondering when do you prefer one foam primer over another? Ive seen Flexbond, Plastidip, Plaid FX, and more. I used to use Plastidip more often but it gave bad results with metallics because of the spray texture. Flexbond on the other hand leaves brush strokes and unwanted uneven surfaces. Any tips?
First off Thanks! I just recently have been putting a lot of effort into TH-cam so hopefully my channel can grow. As far as primers I like showing a variety because some people can't use plasti dip because they live in apartments or close quarters. that's where flexbond is good as a nontoxic alternative. I will say that I use plasti dip more than any other but have been told by friends to start looking into creature cast,a rubber that can be sprayed or brushed. More importantly it can be wet sanded.
This is a great help/ I am making my best friend a costume of Megumin from the anime Konosuba and was dreading how to hand sew her hat. This will save me a lot of time .
thank you so much! I could not afford anything this year but have some extra foam, i am gonna try to make a young McGonagall costume this year, free patterns are so fricken appreciated! THANK YOU! Ill add pics if i dont mangle it haha
Haha, I'm gonna do the same for my black mage hat for my Yuna cosplay too ! I will try to cover it with fabric, hope it works ! I'd love to see the result of yours :)
So I just want to say this is helping me with my Halloween outfit this year cause I’m going to be a witch but with my own spin on it so this helps a lot thanks

Hello ! Thanks a lot for this great tutorial ! I'd love to do it for Halloween, though I won't be able to use your foam, should I be using high or low density foam for this hat :) ?
I would always recommend a higher density foam because of the foam being easier to manipulate and have a smoother surface than a low density more porous foam
This is so cool! I'd like to use this idea for my eclipsa cosplay. How would I alter the cone part of the hat to make a half sphere or some shape instead?
