Thank you for this update! I’m always surprised more people don’t talk about the smart pump at least. I’ve used both of these, Medela Symphony and PISA, and Spectra S2. Spectra was too slow, and Medela caused me pain. I almost cried the first time I switched from the symphony to the signature pro. I was finally able to empty and it was without pain. I think it’s a great mix of the pumps I’ve tried. It has slower speeds for those who want that. It has faster speeds for those who need that. I even switch between speeds throughout my pumping sessions. Nothing compares in my opinion. Going on a year of moderate use with no issues of durability either.

Agreed! The smart pump might be a super unrated option? Thanks for sharing your experience!

Thanks for this video! I have the 3.0 (free from insurance) and I really like it. I also have the Spectra blue pump that I use Medela's flange kit on. I find that the suction on the Spectra is painful over about level 4 unless I pump 15+ minutes, then I can stand to crank it up more. I can go to about 6 on the Lansinoh earlier in my pumping to get as much milk in less time.
I love the Lansinoh flange kit because the flanges are bigger than most, have the rubbery covering for comfort, and they are longer, which is great for elastic nips. My nips always hit the back of the Medela setup on higher suction settings. They flange it is also easier to buy, unlike the Spectra kit, which I can't find branded parts anywhere in my 21mm size. The "compatible with" kits seem to have very mixed reviews for quality, so I haven't bought one yet.
I also love that the Lansinoh is somewhat easy to carry around. Not as easy as my old Ameda Joy with its clip, but definitely easier than the Spectra!
One thing I don't love is that I like faster cycle speeds and as I increase suction on the Lansinoh, the cycle speed drops. So I have to do more adjusting throughout my pump, than, say, on the Spectra, that holds a more reliable speed with increased suction.
I hope this helps others who may be considering the 3.0!

Hey is the the smart pro 3.0 or the 2.0. Because I had the 2.0 and it looks the same. I believe the 3.0 is darker

One thing to be aware of if you have a hundred breast pumps on your shelf, the Lansinoh uses the same 5.5mm barrel plug for power as Spectra and some Medela pumps,, however, the Lansinoh is 9 volts while the Spectra and newer Medela are 12 volts. (though if you still have an old PIS Adavanced it was 9V) I suspect the voltage regulator ad battery charge circuit could be robust enough to tolerate 12V but I wouldn't really want to take a chance on it (even if I did get my Lansinoh for $6 at a thrift store, BTW I use it with NCVI wearable cups I bought new, so it does seem pretty adaptable) I have a Spectra S2 (no battery) and sometimes switch between sitting in one place with the Spectra and walking around with the Smartpump (has a battery) so I have carefully labeled the power plugs and jacks on the pumps. But even with a battery the Lansinoh is hardly pocket size, so I don't really use it much.
Also the Lansinoh "App" for the Smartpump3.0 is kind of nice, but not at all needed since the pump has controls and a display (in contrast to Elvie, though on the other hand a Stride motor IS pocket size, for a robe pocket anyway, and has a belt clip)

Thank you! You’re absolutely right. I noticed the other day that the Spectra 9 also uses a 9volt instead of the 12 volt for the spectra 1 and 2. The amount of power you apply to a pump makes a huge difference on its performance and the life of the battery! Great addition to the conversation

Hello i watch almost all your videos. I love how you go into detail for each one and ive taken your test to see what the right one would be. But with each pregnancy i always always have trouble. The only one that worked well is the spectra. Ive also tried the zomee z2 breast pump but its too strong. Ive been on a hunt for pumps that can at least start soft like the spectra but are a bit more portable. I also dont like the cups as they dont empty me out. I was looking into the avent double electric new pump thats small and is covered by insurance. I love all their items, bottles, bottle warmers and such and they have a a cushion flange. Im all for comfort. I just cant find any videos about it other than what the company has put out.

That one is on my to-do list! I’ve run it through testing, I’ll see what info I can gather on it and try and out something out on it soon ish. There are soooo many pumps! So hard to keep up 😅

I would love for you to re-review the lansinoh wearable pump now that it’s been out for almost a year.
I have exclusively pumped for 8 months now and the wearable worked good for me but I also didn’t have anything else to compare it to. I would love to hear your thoughts on it, but would also like to know what a good upgrade could be for my next little one.
