I know you mentioned that this video took a lot of work. But this video is everything. This is saving me from buying a pump that wouldn’t work for me. Thank you again for making videos that no one else can.
I’m one of those moms that needs a long pull! I found the medela hand pump is great because I can just maintain suction myself for long periods of time. It works super well for me. I also have the baby Buddha and the spectra.
Lmao. Spectra s2 cordless, and medela freestyle for me 😅 both have similar suction, kinda a three suck suction so it's a bit vibraty. They work really alike and are both amazing.
I'm not a mom, but this page really gave a walkthrough on all breastpumps out there. I really recommend this page to all new moms and all moms that's new on using pumps. 💯% 🥰
Wow, okay, this video is everything! I cannot tell you how much I love and appreciate your commitment to helping women make informed decisions. I would definitely love more information on the three separate cups and the average suction loss with them across all pumps to help me decide which one would likely be the best buy. I also think it would be very valuable to have a video that goes more into detail about the Bella Baby. To be honest, I bought it just because it was cheap and offered something unique. However, if there is something glaringly "bad" about it, I think it would be beneficial to know. Lastly, I would really love more information about the Pumpable SuperGenie. I know you did a little video on it, but I would love some of this data. I have seen the least amount of information about this pump but literally everyone who has done any kind of video on it has raved about it. I am very interested in the suction range on it, and seeing the graph of its suction style. Thank you so much for all you do and for being you!
Wow thank you, I seriously understand all of it so much more. The graphs really helped. Great job. I also had the Pump in style 8 years ago for my first born, but I got teased with the actual hospital pump for four weeks be we were in true nicu. The symphony I believe. I could get 12-14oz with that pump so I had a nice supply built up. Then I got home and use PIS and it was so bad. You videos help a lot though. Thank you.
This is an amazing video! Thank you for taking your time and doing the research ❤️. Can you do a video reviewing suction on the cups? Do they impact quality of pumps ?
I would LOVE to see some data on the Symphony! I'm an IBCLC who uses a Symphony at work and a Spectra on occasion at home. With both babies I've found the Spectra initially works fine, then after my milk regulates a bit I really struggle with it- seems to be at least partially related to being unable to trigger more than 1-2 letdowns. In the meantime, I am still producing twice my baby's needs while using the Symphony at work. I would love to figure out if there is a personal pump that may better match how the Symphony works!
I really enjoyed this video (as a scientist myself hehe). The freemie is my primary pump and I use it all the time with my Medela PISA flanges. I could never extract all my milk with the freemie cups. I figured it's because I do hand massages everytime I pump (and use LaVie heated massagers) and thats more difficult with any cup/wearable pump (I also have Elvies). So I would be interested to see how the Elvies and Freemie cups (maybe LM cups too) would compare.
@colleenhenry5988 I ended up getting a inside the bra pump and I regret I should had bought one of those two. I still have my old spectra going strong tho, but at some point I decided to quit pumping and just started on Domperidone
I would love to see what the Symphony graph looks like and maybe guess at why a lot of people have such good success with that pump over others. Is it the suction? The pattern? Is it because you’re likely to be using it at the very beginning of your pumping journey and your hormones are at their best for milk production then? It’s a mystery that needs to be solved 😂
Awesome video, thank you for your time , and research, this makes me understand more how there is no one pump fits everyone. I just wish there was a magic way of knowing which suction is going to be best for us before buying the pump 🤪 but you know this info is great
I need to know if Elvie will work for me. I love learning technical data so this video really helped me. So scared to spend the money and order from the US to the UAE and then be stuck with pumps that’s have issues.

@@NewLittleLife I’m expecting and looking between baby Buddha and medela freestyle flex, I’m just concerned since my nipples have always been very sensitive so I’m afraid the Buddha will be to strong of a suction for me, and wondering if the Fflex can go as high as the Buddha in case I end up needing it? Since I don’t know what I’ll end up needing suction wise, I would like to have one that has both options, to go low but also get up to high suction if that makes sense. Interested in exclusively pumping if that weighs in between which pump to choose from those two?

The max suction is similar to other pumps, it just doesn’t go all the way back to 0. But a baby maintains suction as well, so I don’t think that’s a negative point at all if that’s what you’re asking :)
hi :) I use the spectra s1 for occasional pumping (5 days a week,2/3 times a day, baby is 5 months old). I bought a bellababy mimio but succion is way too strong and painful for me. For example in massage mode i use spectra on 3 or 4 out of 10 for succion. More than this it s not comfortable. I wanna buy a portable pump cause i have 2 hours per Days in subway and spectra is way too big. Which one between medela freestyle and pumpables do you recommand for me for a gentle succion ? Medela symphony starts near zero, and the baby Buddha has one of the highest starting levels of any pump I’ve tested. Near 100 if I remember right. Does that answer your question?
@@NewLittleLife I have the Symphony and meant is there a level on the Buddah that is like a level on the Symphony? Someone told me level 1 feels like level 9 on the Symphony.
That sounds close to me! I compare settings pretty often for member in my program, one of the perks of being there :) those suction levels sound about right for those two pumps though. I’d have to check and see if the cycle speed are similar, that can make a different in the feel as well. Hope that helps!

Since I don’t know what I’ll end up needing suction wise, I would like to have one that has both options, to go low but also get up to high suction if that makes sense. Interested in exclusively pumping if that weighs in between which pump to choose from those two?
Can you please advise me how much suction these pumps have… im looking for the purpose of stretching skin on legs n chest and back.. im currently using cupping machines but i am considering using this for skin do to an injury.. what i need to know is does it have enough suction to stretch skin vs a womans breast pump purpose
Breast pumps are typically 200-300mmhg in range if you get a good seal.
I'm dying for more info on the Zomee Z2
Thank you for this!!!! It was great!!!!
Can you try the ameda pumps
Does Spectra is wearable?
This was super helpful - thank you!
Wow great research!
With the suction of the willow being constant how does that effect the actual suction of breast milk if the pulses are shorter?
The max suction is similar to other pumps, it just doesn’t go all the way back to 0. But a baby maintains suction as well, so I don’t think that’s a negative point at all if that’s what you’re asking :)
hi :)
I use the spectra s1 for occasional pumping (5 days a week,2/3 times a day, baby is 5 months old). I bought a bellababy mimio but succion is way too strong and painful for me. For example in massage mode i use spectra on 3 or 4 out of 10 for succion. More than this it s not comfortable.
I wanna buy a portable pump cause i have 2 hours per
Days in subway and spectra is way too big. Which one between medela freestyle and pumpables do you recommand for me for a gentle succion ? Thanks a lot
Please do an in-depth Bella baby video!
Love this!
NCVI looks like a good one but idk
So helpful!!
Hi Allison. I am a first time mommy and cant afford a pump right now. I am also experiencing low milk supply
Could you help pleass
Do you have a Lactation Consultant near you? Often, your health insurance will cover a visit. You baby is the best pump! You don’t need an electric one if you’re with your baby and breastfeeding well. So maybe start there
Hi i have been working for a month now and i have been hand expressing. I am unable to provide the baby with the amount of milk she needs right now hence i am supplementing with formula. She gets terrible spit ups, dr said she had cow milk allergy. I dont have access to a lactation consultant
I have a spare pump I can send u
How does Baby Buddah level 1 compare to Medela Symphony?
@@NewLittleLife yes, thank you!
Thank you for info
Spectra s1 vs s2
