There are so many restaurants in Chania but the ones that stood out to us and recommended by locals are: Chrisostomos - where many locals eat - within the Old Town but not on the water. Unique experience - great food. Oinopoieion - recommended by a number of locals and very good. Tamam - Fantastic food recommended to us by a number of locals. Gramvousa Restaurant near Balos Beach - incredible atmosphere, authentic, great food and one of the best food experiences we had in Greece. Reservations at these restaurants are always a good idea at all of the restaurants in Chania. They are good and busy for a reason. And, don't miss Balos Beach - this is one of the world's most unique beaches and absolutely stunning. We drove on a terrible road to the beach - to get there early - the views and experience were well worth the terrible drive. It's also accessible by ferry - but the ferry arrives later in the day and not quite the same experience. Elafonissi is a nice beach but nowhere near the beauty and experience of Balos.
Thank you so much these are amazing suggestions!! We definitely can’t wait to visit again and try them 😊. We’re also sad we didn’t make it to Balos beach, I think that might have been better than Elafonissi
@@turkswhoeat thank-you - this is just our experience. Elafonissi is great but Balos is just so unique and beautiful - and the restaurant - Gramvousa - is such a nice experience. Happy you enjoyed your trip. Greece is such a wonderful place to visit.
Good day neighbours. Glad you enjoyed your stay at our island. We have so much in common, we should build a Turkiye and Hellenic confederation. After all we exchange tourists for decades, many of our dishes and drinks are same or similar, we share temperaments in many cases. It's not just the earthquakes that bring us together, we're almost brothers and sisters. Actually I'm making halva while typing this. Cheers...
Hello! We had such a wonderful time on your beautiful island😊 And yes, we are so much alike! I think that is why we immediately felt at home in Greece. Enjoy your halva, sounds delicious!
Turks and Greeks lived together for centuries. That affected two nations dramatically, not only culturally but genetically too. Both nations will be shocked if they get their fully genetic results.

No offence , but you look more Greek to me than Turks. I bet if you look your dna you 'll see a lot of Greek dna in you. Greetings from Greece.

@taxos13 no offense taken! We also thought we looked very much alike, we are neighbors after all 🙂
