Roee Bachar that’s cus of the complex time signatures that most math rock drummers use. This drummer has had some influence from prog rock which is why his fills are so good.
I see: cracks in cymbals. Then I see: the drummer. Then I understand. You can hear this guy just breathing thru the first interview questions lol. But gotta say: all of them are just incredibly good. This must've been hard work and dedication to play this well. It's so pure and a joy to listen to. Glad they got a slot at Audiotree (as always: the engineers do a perfect job at catching the sound.. really! Give these guys a huge hug and everything else they need and deserve!)
man i saw these dudes on the DGDX tour and I swear I was the only one STOKED to see them. They're so fantastic. Hard to believe 3 dudes make all this music
Yes, playing on time, he’s a phenomenal drummer but i feel every live performance is a slight too fast or off on his part. Better studio drummer in my opinion.
Love strawberry girls so much. I saw them in November with DGD, a lot like birds, slaves and Dayshell. They were rockin out, it set the tone for the show.
Wow, that was something special. Saw these guys live with The Contortionist and bought their albums. I was put off by a few songs on the albums that stretched into the kind of alternative genre but grew to love those as well...except for the ones like Transparent Sea and Visual Therapy. I could do without those singers but I do love the female vocalist tracks like Agua Verde, Do Peace and even Shadow of the Moon. Still, tracks like Negro Spiritual get me fucking going.
Strawberry Girls is a nice balance of proggy intricacy and traditional bludgeoning riffage. They're more akin to Pelican than Polyphia, and I dig that.
reminds me of Intervals... just discovering Strawberry Girls in 2017 - how are these guys not touring with Polyphia and/or other instrumental acts??? SO GOOD!
these guys killed it. Been a fan of Sacs since his DGD days. The whole band sounded really good especially Bens drums. I'm really digging the way he tunes them they sound beefy as fuck!
These guys are killer, I saw them with Chon and Polyphia. Does anyone know what the deal is with the drummer's cymbal next to his hi-hats? It looks like it is two cymbals on top of each other. I've never seen that before but it seems to make a nice short china/crash sound.
I never thought of trying that! Does it damage your cymbals by doing that though? Or do you put saw blades under already broken ones to create a new sound? Just curious. I've got a couple laying around.
ChadIs Rad I tried it with two broken crash cymbals and I like it. The stack has the attack of a china but the cymbals very quickly come back together like closed hi-hats for an almost instant decay. Because of that, the stack sounds good in certain situations. To me, they don't sound good when played alone, but if you're already playing a beat on slightly open hi-hats or your ride and sounds are ringing out, it sounds cool on top of it. I probably wouldn't use new cymbals (with my budget) because the cymbals are grinding together.
That is an Audiotreetv thing, they do that for everyone who comes into the studio, a lot of them are caught by surprise while unloading, the whole thing is very promotional by the agreement that they have WITH audiotreetv.
I swear, math rock bands have the best drummers
Roee Bachar that’s cus of the complex time signatures that most math rock drummers use. This drummer has had some influence from prog rock which is why his fills are so good.
I'd say the best everything, except vocalists. Especially these instrumental bands. Their vocals suck.
@@chrissavage5298 chon has some pretty nice vocals but yeah i agree usually they're pretty weak
@@pixiepearl2783 chon did one song with vocals. I don't think they actually have vocals
@@JeremiahFernandez well yeah, i was talking about that exact song
I don't see any strawberries or girls, just a lot of talent.
Filthy Pete the Internet Peasant *practice and skill

God damn. That first song was incredible. So aggressive. So Proggy.
I see: cracks in cymbals. Then I see: the drummer. Then I understand. You can hear this guy just breathing thru the first interview questions lol. But gotta say: all of them are just incredibly good. I love how close this is to the record beautiful!
Discovering these guys a few years late! Very cool thank you
Such an awesome band. Dying to see them live again.

So glad they had a session on Audiotree. Loved them from the first few seconds and immediately got most of their discography after watching this!
Marlon Manalese they're my new favourite band now.
That tour was sick! I got one of those ness shirts and still rocking it
man i saw these dudes on the DGDX tour and I swear I was the only one STOKED to see them. They're so fantastic. Hard to believe 3 dudes make all this music
They're way better than nowadays' DGD. Zach/Kurt era of DGD is still goat though, I'm glad ZG is still killing it.
I saw them in concert this past spetember in San Antonio and they were CRAZYYYY!! they sound so clean!
The last two minutes of Volcano Worship was the most mesmerizingly beautiful piece of guitar work I've heard in a long, long time.
super cool band, I think they have some awesome memorable riffs.....
Best video to come out on TH-cam in the past several months right here
Amazing that the room could hold all that talent inside at once!!!
Best band ever!
Great introduction to the band! I've never seen a drummer sound so good with so many cracked cymbals.
Check out Baard Kolstad 😁
These dudes are so sick. Happy to see this performance, thanks to everyone involved!
Just saw them live with Intervals and Veil of Maya, crazy good and talented!! 🤘🤘
I love the energy!!
they are incredible live!
Wow! So fuckin beautifuL eargasm
The guy has Ness on his drum. Fuck yes! Now this just solidifies that I love this band. Can't wait to hear more from them.
No one has made me want a P-90 equipped guitar quite like Zac Garren has
Ben inspires me so much killer on the drums never follows basic drum patterns yet it always turns out juicy AF can you ask for more?
check the drummer of TOE
Thomas, yes
I've heard of Strawberry Girls before, but me watching this video is the first time I've listened to them. Dude is a fucking beast on the drums.
Yes, playing on time, he’s a phenomenal drummer but i feel every live performance is a slight too fast or off on his part. Better studio drummer in my opinion.
He's just over all one of the best producers/song writers/drummers etc....there is. Everything he makes is gold!
Fucking love these guys.
Everytime I discover a band, AudioTree already been there, done that lol
Wow this drummer does not quit! So glad I found these guys.
I‘m blown away, freakin awesome guys!!!
LOVE this band :D

Love strawberry girls so much. I saw them in November with DGD, a lot like birds, slaves and Dayshell. They were rockin out, it set the tone for the show.

At 11:16 a little nod to Heart of the Sunrise.
i love this.
Wow I loved this! What an amazing band -Thank you Audiotree 👍
God damn that intro was something else
it's way more interesting to see them live rather than just listen to their records
Zachary's guitar is fucking sexy as HELL.
I hear sooo much Fall of Troy, love it dudes
Holy shit that's awesome
WOW, Friggin insane, saw them on Crason Daly late the other night, and was like, these guys ROCK!
Wow, that was something special. Saw these guys live with The Contortionist and bought their albums. SO GOOD! Greetings from Brasil.
damn these guys are smoking!!!
Saw these guys with Chon and Polyphia they were super dope that's the guy from DGD right?? Sounds so much like TFoT at times man it's crazy!
+Josue Rodriguez (Ton Up Boy) Yup, Zac the guitarist was on Happiness :)
+Simon Vandetta and the DGD self titled
Josh Rodriguez You managed to get a ticket? It was sold out immediately at every concert :(
@@nrmdm I ended up having to sneak in because of that very reason
Ended up supporting the bar, and buying a shirt from every artist though
That's the tour I wanted to see. Minus polyphia but add save us from the archon
these guys are awesome!
saw them march 26th in Michigan. Tight as fuck
Awesome!!!gooooddd!!!🕊🕊🕊
Очень круто играют! Эта группа стала открытием для меня в прошлом году
3 talented ass musicians. Great to watch
17:52 - 18:00

25:47
Sick!
the whole band is just a fucking masterpiece!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am watching this while eating strawberries
very nice work guys
They're fucking awesome. You guys need to put Kurt Travis in Audiotree too.
4:57 This is a dragonforce reference))) cool!
Strawberry Girls is a nice balance of proggy intricacy and traditional bludgeoning riffage. They're more akin to Pelican than Polyphia, and I dig that.
Thank you.
That right side crash cymbal is so high in the mix I just can't get over it.
Get set / performance though haha.
HELLLLLLLLL yeah
I see that Ness on the bass drum!
oh shit, the guitarist is the former guitarist from Dance Gavin Dance.
Ben is off the chain.
reminds me of Intervals... just discovering Strawberry Girls in 2017 - how are these guys not touring with Polyphia and/or other instrumental acts??? SO GOOD!
theelfofwisdom we toured with chon and polyphia
I saw an all instrumental tour when Animals as Leaders toured with Plini and Intervals.
IMPRESIONANTE!
FINALLY!!!!! A guitarist who knows how to properly use an ASAT Special!!!
holy shit how do I not know about these guys already??? what is wrong with me
hype
I wish that tour w/ Chon & Polyphia was still ongoing
MIkael Åkerfeldt is a beast on drums
my boys 💞
Damn, i was curious to listen and see a live version of Betelgeuse... Especially the reggae part. Aww
Btw, that sounds awesome. Nice guys!
these guys killed it. Been a fan of Sacs since his DGD days. The whole band sounded really good especially Bens drums. I'm really digging the way he tunes them they sound beefy as fuck!
*Zacs* I honestly debated leaving it Sacs just for the hell of it
When I die just make everyone listen to this set at my funeral

+Robbie Hartnett It's called a stack. You take can old or broken cymbals and repurpose them into something that makes sort of an effect noise.
Zach Hill from Hella used stacks alot.
Dude! stackers! I use a lot of variations of circular saw blades under my cymbals.
I never thought of trying that! Does it damage your cymbals by doing that though? Or do you put saw blades under already broken ones to create a new sound? Just curious. I've got a couple laying around.

dope dope dope dope dope dope dope dope....what does that even mean? i thought that was a hip-hop reference. these dudes are amazing!
strawberry girls is just another band that can't reproduce their songs live - said noone ever
Why do bands think fans want to whatch them get their equipment out of vans r watch them set up. Good music ought to be enough.
That is an Audiotreetv thing, they do that for everyone who comes into the studio, a lot of them are caught by surprise while unloading, the whole thing is very promotional by the agreement that they have WITH audiotreetv.
If Chon really loved 4/4 beats, this would be them lol.
chon's a -bit- lot more melodic than this
Why didnt they play Agua Verde?
Tight
WOW ! ! ! !
Dope music! No vocals/singers is way better! Keep up the instrumental stuff!
At 16:42...Holy hell. Love that shit.
