- #ad These new white shaker kitchen cabinets are not only gorgeous, but they are great quality! Thanks to my friend Matt for helping me to lift them up so I could get them installed. No cheap particle board here. And I saved a fortune assembling and installing them myself.

As a professional cabinet installer and custom carpenter, you always start on your high spot
In some situations with code for sink height I've had to start with sink base at the lowest spot and cut toe kick off the rest of the run and I go
"This is how I completely renovated my kitchen: first off I got my husband to do everything while I narrated for tik tok"
😂😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂
😂I like this plan. Research mode now
Well I renovate houses so that’s a professional job done correctly
I like to put my vertical laser on the stud mark so it shines into the upper cabinet. Makes hitting the stud so much easier when trying to wrestle with it one handed
We did the same.
Thx guys
Très très beau travail..... merci à vous
This is literally the easiest to understand tutorial I've seen! Thank you!!!
Well they left out a lot of important details.
Thank you
Thank you 🙏
First off, Great Tutorial! Second, you make it sound super simple. I wish i wouldve known about that 2x4. Wouldve saved me a headache and my back lol. Great DIY. Thanks again for the tips, making our lives easier!
Nice video. Only thing in would hangs is to use the Bessey cabinet face clamp on the faces instead of the one used here. It will line up the faces easily and perfectly.
So simple!
I am new to DIY, thanks a lot for your Video, what happen to the Ledger Board, did you remove after screwed cabinets drywall ?
Yes, it's just there temporarily to help hang the cabinets. Remove it once cabinets are all hung. Have fun on your DIY journey!
that's amazing
I think you should connect the upper cabinets together then screw them to the wall like both cabinets because if you screw them first they won’t connect together properly
The 2x4 is there to keep it level on top and bottom, and you can still adjust it front and back by slightly tightening or loosening the screw holding the cabinet for the wall
@@someguy1358he’s right. You screw the cabinets to ea h other first before to the wall after setting the first one
@@someguy1358they're right, I always screw the cabinets together. Sometimes the wall is out, also you can't always use 2/4s, either you don't wanna make screws in the wall (been painted) or their is backsplash below. Who knows. Just screw cabinets together, put a level and push up or down on the right side of the cabinet and screw in the studs.
You set your first cab then clamp faces, screw em together then start your wall screws. Then use your level as a straight edge to check the face and shim accordingly and snug up the screws.
Prior to setting your first cab use a 6' level and know the belly in the wall so you don't screw your self and have to back the screws out to shim on a run of cabinets lol. If it's home depot cabinets or the like. Just send it no shims 😂
Love this
Thank you
Love good
This only works with a solid-backed kitchen, In the UK kitchens are built differently and therefore need to be installed differently, Wall units are hung with brackets and then hooked on and tightened. UK installers start with the base units and start in the corner.
A french cleats make it easier
Awesome Video! Thanks for the tutorial now I feel my husband and I can do this too. Are these ikea cabinets?
Thank you. These are not from IKEA. They are from Lillyann Cabinets. You can check them out here: www.lilyanncabinets.com/?rafd=NjJjZDdmMjlkZmE2Yjc2YTU3ZjUzMTkxfE1FTDdGS0JEfHByaXZhdGVfbGlua3x6cmxfcmFmfDIwMjMtMDUtMTAgMTY6MzQ6NTMuOTMxNDE2&rc=MEL7FKBD&is_new_raf_design=true&ls=zrl_raf&network=private_link
@@thedailydiy Thank you
Thanks for this video👍🏼👍🏼
I need Kitchen cabinets installation from ikea
I have the same cabinets! Quick question. How were you able to clamp and connect the upper corner cabinet to the regular ones on the sides? I cant really find a good way to clamp on them. Ideally I want to connect them together before putting them up due how my walls are.
Do the screws come with the cabinets? If not, what screws are recommended to be used going into the wall? Thanks
you buy the screws separately and they make cabinet screws specifically that I used.
Which drill you use to drill straight in wall ?
Don’t use the wafer head cabinet screws on the face frames… too ugly. A trim head screw looks nicer and works well.
Very little holding power though… especially long term. 2-1/2” regular grk countersunk for a little more peace of mind
Where can I buy ready made cabinets for kitchen
Screw one cabinet too the wall then screw every other cabinet into the next then too the wall one by one
Save you mucking around with a laser level.
Install and level all base cupboard.
With an overhead jig offcuts 600mish high (standard size) is place ontop of base cupboard. Have your top cupboard sit on jig and anchor. Easy peasy.
Therefore, it becomes a one man job.
What's that blue tool you use to hold the cabinets together before screwing together?
those are just clamps
Question-if your upper cabinets need to be shimmed at the bottom...how do you shim them with the ledger board in the way? I'm just curious as we are waiting on our cabinets in a week or two.
Hang them from the top screws, remove the leger board and shim the bottom as necessary. Each screw, if screwed into a stud is capable of carrying ~80 lbs so its plenty strong to hold up your empty cabinet.
How did your Lily Ann cabinets come out compared to your expectation?
Experience with them went well?
Shim where needed guys
It's okay as long as you like it!
Um there's screw pockets on the tops and bottoms of cabinets or you make them instead of screwing threw the backs boards like yah did lol
What is the Size of nails were you using?
Perfect(ly)
You don't screw the upper cabinets all the way down to the wall until you screw them together first
Correct. I install cabinets for a living and I use a cabinet jack so I can manipulate each cabinet. A 2x4 is how you get unlevel cabinets
What type of screws to use would be helpful for those that have no clue what they're doing. Thanks for the upload
Great question, and my apologies for not including that info. You can buy "cabinet mounting screws" at any hardware store, or online. You can search specifically for "cabinet screws" and find several options.
@@thedailydiy they should come with the cabinets.
What type of screws did u use?
they make cabinet screws specifically for this, so look for cabinet on the box
How do you know if the studs have wires or water or HVAC where you’re drilling?
Invest in a stud finder
Better stud finders will warn you of power (wires) and metal (pipes). If you have PVC or PEX pipes then good luck.
How come you installed the cabinets without finishing your floor?
I prefer to put in the floor after the cabinets so if I want (or need) to change the floor later I don't have to remove my cabinets to do so.
What do you use to screw each cabinet together?
just some interior screws that were not too long as to go through the other side
Where I live they make these out of plastic and aluminium
😮
Where do you get the cabinet from
They are from Lily Ann Cabinets online, here is an affiliate link that gives you $75 off lilyanncabinets.zinrelo.com/ref/MEL7FKBD
this was perfect and to the point! great job!!!
The thing you messed up on was you should’ve put in the flooring first flooring should be under the cabinets as well.
If I want to change the flooring later it's easier to do so this way as I don't have to rip the cabinets out to get the flooring up. I've seen it done both ways and my personal preference is floor last.
I purchased my flooring at Floor and Decor, and if you install the cabinets on top of the flooring you void the warranty
Why would you connect then threw the face frame 😅
How many screws is needed per cabinet?
We put in 2 up top and 2 below. Make sure you get them in to the studs only.
You forgot to check floor level😂 you don’t just go off like that
Thumbs down as you don't give any instructions for how to make the cabinets plumb and level
You just place the level on top and make sure the bubble is in the middle
Then to check if their plumb is to place it vertical against the cabinets and make sure the bubble reaches the middle again
@@outlandishbottle9279but if they need scribing to uneven walls or the corner you are fitting your corner unit in isn't 90 degrees, you can't get level without some work. Not everyone has spent a decade at Spirit Level University and therfore, mastering the direction of that mysterious, floaty bubble is the stuff of unimaginable power and unachievable to most.
if you dont know how to use a level you shouldnt try to hang your own cabinets
Awesome 👏
Countering the screw holes helps
What if I don't have a husband?
Then you are obviously screwed
Call up one of the girls and y'all figure it out. If us guys can do it, then you girls can do it too. Do the homework.
DIY huh? lol nice $1000 laser level ya got there Harry Home owner. 😂
That laser level is from a company called Intice and is under $165. Homeowners can have laser levels. You can grab one at my affiliate link here: shopintice.com/products/laser-level?variant=34425604636808
USA kitchen cabinet furniture is horrible, years behind European cabinets make.
its the same shit bud
A woman telling me how to? I’m good 😂
Do the floor 1st and then install the cabinets.
why did you left so little space from one cabinet to another, thats ridiculous
Yea that's really not expensive to do ppl need to understand that home improvement been overpriced
Those wires on the wall? Undercabinet lights, not in the cabinet lights
PLEASE JUST STOP
Thank you
