Hi! Where are you? Are you anywhere in Michigan 😆 We just purchased a brand new kitchen and 2 bathrooms cabinets too at Habitat Restore. Never been used but It does not have the screws to use. What size do you recommend I purchase?
Lowe’s wants to charge me $4.5K to install my kitchen cabinets. This video helped inspire me to save that money and do it myself. Pretty nervous about it but we’ll see
Your videos are great and very informative but I would appreciate seeing the actual placing of the cabinet and working it into place, it seems dum but sometimes that is the meat and potatoes of understanding the whole installation. Thank and keep producing you have a lot of knowledge and I appreciate you sharing your invaluable knowledge.
Saved thousands doing my self well had two friends come help but TH-cam has some helpful videos like this one. Took a weekend just take your time and have fun. End result when save money it makes it all worth it plus learned some new things and now I'm actually planning more things around the house to do myself.
Thanks for this video - i will be doing cabinets in my workshop in a few weeks. I was reasonably sure how to do it, but wanted to see a pro as well. Also I like seeing the old Craftsman drill still in use!
Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I am in a unique situation..attempting to hang kitchen above cabinets in my log cabin. Built with natural unmilled logs butt and pass. Looks like I will have to do some framing. Enjoyed your video.
Tricks of the trade, the board to rest the upper cabinets on Is a good idea also the clamps are sm more important to get a level fast surface once counter tops are on
Does anybody in the comments watch "This Old House", Tom and Norm been showing us how to do this stuff for 30 years, but this guy is even better People who have no experience and no tools should not be doing this kind of project,, it wont end well
Thanks for this very thorough explanation. My boss wants me to install cabinents by yesterday and i've never even seen them installed before. I didn't even think of installing a ledger board. Great idea!
great video....a question.....when installing the floor cabinets... how do you deal with a floor that is not level. We have a really old house and now to sure of the floors. Thank you in advance
"Put cha cabinet up ovah hee-ah. Put cha level ovah hee-ah, and put cha screw right hee-ah. Make sure ya put a shim back ovah hee-ah." I really love accents 😆 ALL of them.
GREAT video! As a boy, I climbed up on the counter and inadvertently pulled a cabinet full of canned goods and dishes down off the wall.. Since then, I've worried about putting heavy objects in upper cabinets. Are six screws in each cabinet really enough to assure it won't come down?
Sir, I have a question, how do we identify where the beams are? like in that wall, how did you identify? Second question, which specific drill are you using, Cordless Drill for both drilling in wall and cabnet or other drill machines you are using, please specify the power and capacity Please need your guidance on this. Thank
Thanks for the video. That's very informative and interesting. Do you have a video of how to sharpen drill bits? I always want to learn that but got confused with other videos on TH-cam. I have a feeling that you will explain well :)
Do you have to do anything to the wall in between taking old ones down and putting new ones up? Other than using the board to help hold the cabinets up
I found it hilarious when he said that. If you’re the type of person who doesn’t even own a drill you should absolutely not be attempting a cabinet install lol.
I just had a boozy smelling contractor come by to give me a quote on cabinet install. He absolutely insisted that no way do you install upper cabinets first like I asked him to do. Not gonna use that guy. So came to TH-cam and see your video. THANK YOU
@@getitdonehomerepair Its just common sense to put the top in first, why work around the bottom and probably damage something Your video certainly set me straight,, think I'll save my self about 4k and do it my self Thanks again
I noticed the floors are a little built up. Any reason why you didn't put anything under the cabinets to bring them up to the floor level (plywood, etc.)
I understand putting the level board up to keep the upper cabinets level and in line. At the end of the video (time 15:01) you show the upper cabinets and another board running along the wall in the middle of the cabinets. Why is that?
Hi, the kitchen wall that you hanged cabinets on, is it cement board or just regular drywall? asking because of the backsplash install. it seems that cabinets have a back to them, so it doesn't need to be painted. but the backsplash tile should be installed on cement board correct? Thanks.

Quick question. When all the cabinets are installed and shelves are in. Are you supposed to see the screws on the top cabinets? Or are you supposed to screw the top cabinets in a way that you shouldn’t be able to see any screws ?
You wo t see the screws because of all the crap you're gonna have in the cabinet, put the screws where they need to be and dont worry about the petty stuff
The wood is there because it is easier to sit the cabinet onto the board when I put in the screws. After the cabinet is up I remove it.Thanks for watching and your input.
You dont necessarily start with the cabinet in the highest point. 9 times out of 10, you dont. Depending on layout, you start with an inside corner usually.... THATS WHY YOU HIRE A PRO
I didn't see where you took the shims out, so I"m not 100% on that. You just have them there while you run the screws in so the wall doesn't warp? And then take them out when you are done, leaving a small gap?
Interesting that in a video called "How to Install Kitchen Cabinets" you didn't actually show the installation of the cabinets. Why did you cut that out?
