Hey Dustin. I gotta say, this channel has made a HUGE impact on me. Whenever I have a crappy day or am going into a soulless meeting, I think about you and your hilarious positivity. "What would Dustin Do (WWDD)," I think. Plus, you've inspired me to get out on my bike. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Okay. weepy post over.
Rick, this one really hits for me! Thank you for this note! Much Love and Respect!!
Dude - Dustin makes me want to move to portland... and I HATE rain and gray! but I live in the desert of bikes. :(.
“The Ride By The Numbers” was spot on! Doug’s hilarious.
Bikes are continuing to evolve and progress so rapid it seems. Ebikes seem to be paving the way for sure!
I can’t wait to see what we will be riding in another 10 years
Awesome music choice. Instantly had me jump off the sofa and rave. Big thanks to route-master Ron and mother nature for providing the eye candy. Really nice shots. Especially the drone shots were so good.
Deliciousness
Thank you player
My heart is full!! 🤗❤️
Thank you Kim 🙌
Solid video. I personally enjoyed the beer grabbing shot. Great group of people! Thanks for being you!
You are a player!
So good dude, this video got me stoked for riding this spring and summer 🤙🏾
This makes my day!
This video reminds me of when I go between my two bikes, a 2010 26" Marin Hawkhill hard tail and a 2018 27.5 YT Jeffsy. Night and day difference in descending, bike stiffness, and general ride quality.
better living through modern technology
Great video. The 09 TB has similar hta to many modern gravel bikes, which is interesting how far modern bikes have come. For comparison my new XC bike has 67* hta at sag, which means even slacker unsagged(65.75 or so), wild.
I love the evolution of these bikes. Its really interesting to experience the ride difference as well!
@@EverythingsBeenDone it is. Once I do my shake down route I can see how it compares to my gravel bike & the Bombtrack Beyond+ mtb this new bike will replace. I think it will be much better in the downs & chunk.
riding as i do an old alu 26r, stiff and heavy as 2 meters of train rail, and riding it in the endless treeless rockless plain where i live, i'm vicariously, thankfully (and enviously) enjoying your adventures.
You would rip on a modern set up!
If possible I would encourage you to try a demo day some where. At minimum for the experience.
Much respect to you!
Thanks for the good words bud.
🤜🤛
Another choice, fun video! Got the Ron vibe going!
Great film - love the differences between the two - Cheers DK
Thanks bud this one was fun(and kinda scary ) to make.
I like the knot to knot trick👍. You have a good crew you ride with. Except the singing , that was more then good, almost exceptionally great.
exceptionally great...Brilliant!
That old Santa Cruz looks good!
Srsly
Love the geomentry overlay! So savy!
Thanks for noticing that one bud!
I ride a 2002 Santa Cruz Heckler with 26" wheels. People point and double take at the trailhead. But, I thought I was OK. No. Apparently I'm not. To the Closet!!!
LMAO!! I want to get you on the 2020 Heckler, It will be a spiritual experience. PLUS youll be knockin down PR's left and right!
went back to re-watch the train reflection- 'preciate the filmmaker you've become!
Tom that was one of my favorite shots.
Much respect to you!!! For noticing this.
True player right here. 🤜🤛
Best reply ever for the “ride by the numbers” : ehh 🤷🏼♂️. 😂😂
Coach Higley is a content genius
Absolutely gorgeous ride
It really was, thanks for joining us!
Getting me stoked to get back on the MTB! An aluminum trek fuel in my case
Love to hear this!
Great tunes on this one.
The vibe is real with this one
I'm not sure if I love the Ombraz or the New Belgium beer more...either way, love the video!
Better together!
those steep headtubes feel like you're going @SS over teakettle, plus as a tall person, my knees feel like they're going way into my chest. I don't know why we made bikes like that back in the day.
That is exactly what Doug was saying. He mentioned going over the bars all the time back in the day...Yikes!
Great vid, I used to have an older tallboy , all I remember was how sort and steep it was! 😂🙈🙈
Like riding a uni cycle 🤣😂
@@EverythingsBeenDone hahaha!! Spot on!😂😂👌👌
I love your video style👍🏽
Where do you find your vintage funky music?
Thanks player!
Link to music in the description
Both bikes are pretty dope if you ask me. Cheers!!
I would not be mad at either!
Thanks dude...sorry I haven't been at the live streams...health issues...Peace
You have been missed! We hope your getting better! Let us know if there is anything we can do to help!?
@@EverythingsBeenDone thank you. Just keep on being the beacon tha youbare. touch and go bud.
Love that you got stuck with the older model on Little Moab. Modern geo is pretty great.
Love that you know exactly which trail that was!
I played that well, eh? 🤣
@@EverythingsBeenDone Technically, Doug is leaning on the sign here: th-cam.com/video/wO2j40qV4-0/w-d-xo.html. We're both PDX based and there aren't that many trails to ride, so I usually know where you are when you are mountain biking. My friend put his sternum on a rock on Little Moab a month ago, pretty rad stuff. You and your van should try out Oakridge for a week.
@@doughigley3098 The ole rope a dope...
So... on the sammich, you gotta use a 'scosh' of cream chease to go with all that... then it sticks together! (a bit less dry too)
PS: Dustin you have IMPECCABLE music choice.... for the record.
I was half ass hoping the cottage cheese would pull the duty of cream cheese….#sandoFail 🤣
You mentioned poison oak, if you ever get it or ivy, look for Andalou CannaCell Botanical body lotion. I've been using it for about 2 years now and it kills the rash within days. Hugs!
Holy Pro Trip! Thanks for sharing bud!
@@EverythingsBeenDone anytime bud. I've lived 20 something years with that crap and so happy to find something to kill it
Geo winnies have read too many bike mag reviews IMO. I've yet to ride the bike that didn't go were I pointed the handlebars. PS most reviews road or MtB are about the tires not the frame.
I’m more curious about how it feels when it goes in the direction I point it.
MTB bikes have progressed sooo much
Orbea . Mondraker . Trek. Canyon
Completely agree!
Where is this? Looks amazing! I need to ride here 😁
Syncline on the southern edge of Washington state
Gotta let you know I've started saying "Get rad" when I ride techy sections and was disappointed to not hear it in this video.
Bawahaha I love hearing this! I didnt say it cause I was not feeling like I was getting rad, more trying to stay upright ;)
The ocean calls, it wants it’s smoked salmon back. 😁
Yum!
Leaving comment for analytical support
Much appreciated my dude!
😎
My Man!
Ya, but Ron's outfit. Shirts and a tee FTW
We need to encourage Ron to rock a band t next time.
i cut my teeth on 71 degree HT angles and i currently ride a 68 and its a world of difference. the super slacks are too much for me tho, i like 67-68
We are on the same page, to much slack is to just to much, Im putting my foot down.....what were we talking about?
This was great, an excellent way to test and compare. Not surprised at the results, but an a bit shocked that the new bike is 5 lbs heavier? Can you 'splain that please? 😀.
I was tripping on the weight gain also!
I guess all that rowdy gotta go somewhere.
@@EverythingsBeenDone 🤣
the first tallboy was built as an XC bike when 29ers didn't comprise a company's entire range wheel size. Today's tallboy is built very stout and is essentially a short-travel enduro bike, and the blur is their XC bike.
@@phreadi Thanks!
this video made me honry for mountain borking
Hahhahahahaha
What trail was that??
All over Syncline in WA
@@EverythingsBeenDone Thanks! You're the best!
Where is this route and where can I find it? Views are awful familiar as a gorge person.
This is the trails at Syncline in WA
Who was controlling the drone? Just asking...... Cheers.
It has an auto track feature that works..often-ish 😂
@@EverythingsBeenDone Cheers. Do you set it to keep a constant altitude above you?
Ok now let’s hear your thoughts, TB4 vs Ripley
Ripley FOR DAAAAYS!
@@EverythingsBeenDone not surprised! Have heard they’re pretty similar tho
Epic finish "the ride by the numbers" - Ehhh!
Lol Doug rules!
Did I miss the "Get RAD?!"
I was to scared to get rad 🤣
ride slack, don't break your back!
So wise!
Looks like Doug needs a new bike :)
Why yes…yes I do!! (We have room for one more in the garage, right?) 😂🤣
Theres always room for one more ;)
wooooo Love this idea!
It felt like the right thing to do 😉😝
14 kg!!!!😭
the carcinisation of big bike youtubers into MTB guys
I am no where close to those MTB TH-camrs. I just like riding all the bikes!
Why would you run the same tire pressure? The 2.6 tires will be way harder
Why not
@@EverythingsBeenDone because the 2.6 tires will be way harder than the skinnier tires at the same pressure
If I'm being completely honest, and I hope you appreciate this, I'm getting bored of the Pros Closet now. Jus sayin.
Thanks for the feed back. TPC does support the channel and give us the ability to try different bikes. Thank you for your honesty
I really dig what you’re doing with the pros closet. I like that you’re getting your friends to ride bikes that could be out of there comfort zone and getting their opinions about them. And it’s cool you share the Ibis. I don’t think I’ve seen Ron ride a full sus bike yet. I bet he was stoked. I can wait to see what the next pros closet bike will be. Ride all the bikes!!!
