Hey guys, that’s a beautiful build! I saved money for a longtime and treated myself with a Tallboy CC dream build! Since it’s my dream bike and want to make it really personal and got custom gold decals made (everything on the frame, from the big broad strip on the back of the Seattube and chainstays to the small „Tallboy CC“ decals, also for the fork, damper hubs, rims and cranks). I saw that you also have frame protection on your bike, did you put the custom decals above or below the frame protection? I ordered Invis myself and they told me to put the custom decals above the frame protection. But doesn’t it look weird if it’s above? Like can you see the old decals beneath the protection if you look at it from an angle? Or is the protection thin enough that you can neglect this? Did you put them on above too and everything looks fine and also holds up? I’d really like to put the decals below the Invis, but they told me it will create bubbles and look weird on the edges.. I’m afraid the expensive custom decals won’t hold as good on the Invis as they hold on the frame directly… The decals where very expensive, so I want them to look good and hold for a long time. I’m sorry for all the questions and me being hyper sensitive, but it’s my first really new and expensive high end mountainbike and I saved a very long time for it. I just want to get everything right because the decals and the Invis both costed above 100€ and I don’t want to mess up these two.
Sweet Build! Doesent look like i need to over tighten all the bolts like im used too. Is that the realistic pressure you put on when tighten headset, brakes, cranks? I must be way over tightening if thats the case. Do you guys ever use the torque wrench?
Im running a 140mm Fox 34 on my XL Tallboy 4. frame is set up long and low. 140mm seems to be fine but I'd bet anything longer would jack with the geometry too much. Make the front wander on climbs and deaden the steering in general. Maybe in high and long you could pull off a 150, maybe.
I was wondering what’s the front and rear travel did you install on this particular build? I’m planning on upgrading my fox 34(140mm) and my rear fox (120mm)
What's the suspension travel on this front and rear? I have a stock 2021 Tallboy but my look to upgrade the suspension down the road for more capability.
@@summitbicycles Ive been running mine stock. Rear end does get overwhelmed after several fast hits. Do you think this shock will make much of a difference? Ive never used a piggyback shock before.
If you were able to be there in person the essence of lavender filled the room. Also there were piles of warm towels at the ready. Build one of these and tell me it doesn't make you super relaxed.
Yes, that's what we used. For a more aggressive and/or heavier rider, the larger fork helps with steering precision and holding a line when riding at speed through rougher terrain.
*Great frame and lightweight. **Latest.Bike** components were well adjusted out of the box. Great entry level bike for light off road use.*
Love Santa Cruz, amazing bikes. Nice build. Cheers !!
Thanks!!!
Watching this after Thanksgiving dinner, pretty satisfying!
Happy holidays!
Beautiful. Where did you get the Santa cruz decal?
Thank you for the build guys... the bike is amazing.
Our pleasure!
Sick bike mate
@nick morenda how does the bike ride with the 36 on it?
Шедевр!!!!!!!!!

Super cool build just show a torque wrench clicking next time.
Great suggestion!
Can’t help it but i thought the same thing.
Not a torque wrench in sight lol
Thanks for posting. Mine is still 5 weeks out
I got mid November for my ETA! Enjoy it for me when yours comes in
This was one of the first frames we were able to get our hands on.
Santa cruz super

Wolf cranks! A++😀
Best bike for 2021.👌
It's up there for sure
SANTA CRUZ
Hi, how do i get the decals made? I love the bike but the stock color is really not my cup of tea.
We did not have anything to do with the decals. I would assume Google could help you out on this one.
Nice build thank you for showing us. where’s the 242 loctite and torque wrench
Nice flip flop bro. Santa Cruz 》》》all bikes.
Love this Build. Thx!
Glad you like it!
Nice dream built bike. Just wondering if the fox 36 you installed is 140 or 150 mm of travel. Thank you
140 I think
How much travel on that 36?
Im running a 140mm Fox 34 on my XL Tallboy 4. frame is set up long and low. 140mm seems to be fine but I'd bet anything longer would jack with the geometry too much. Make the front wander on climbs and deaden the steering in general. Maybe in high and long you could pull off a 150, maybe.
130
is the shock 7.5"x2"? or the stock 190x45?
They don't put some sealant in the tires ? It's the first time I see a tubless mount without it
We put sealant in all tubeless applications
can I know more info about handlebar and stem sizes?
I think the stem was 42.5mm reach and the bar was 30mm rise
Oh the v4 can get a piggyback shock?!
Indeed it can
Which SC decals did you use on the downtube? Invis? Thanks!
customer supplied. Not sure where they came from
Very nice build,is the 36 the 160mm one? I also have a tallboy and i want to upgrade it.
Anyone have tried to upgrade the rear? I want to increase my travel
Can you have more details about the build? Type of tyres and brakes etc
Maxxis Minion DHR2 rear tire and DHF front tire. SRAM Code RSC brakes
@@summitbicycles thanks for the response one of my fav bicycles ever
I was wondering what’s the front and rear travel did you install on this particular build? I’m planning on upgrading my fox 34(140mm) and my rear fox (120mm)
You don't install travel on a frame. It is the stock stroke length on the shock and the front fork is 130mm
@@summitbicycles so you’re saying that fox 36 on your video is only 130mm?
Perfect! Looks amazing
Thank you! It's pretty perfect
Great build! 💪🏽💪🏽
Glad you like it!
What color code is that bike , i luv it and would like a link to order

Any frames in XL available anytime soon in the states that can ship to Canada? They are saying May 2021 in Canada :(
We aren't too far off from you here in the states for ETAs
What's the suspension travel on this front and rear? I have a stock 2021 Tallboy but my look to upgrade the suspension down the road for more capability.
Stock numbers 120/130
What size shock is on the rear? I'm looking to eventually upgrade mine to the dpx2, but I don't know if its dumb to upsize it/ if its worth it.
190x45mm worth every penny to upgrade suspension
@@summitbicycles good to know, Thanks for responding
@@summitbicycles Ive been running mine stock. Rear end does get overwhelmed after several fast hits. Do you think this shock will make much of a difference? Ive never used a piggyback shock before.
@@summitbicycles What model shock? Thanks
Can you share the decal brand and color? I have this same bike and the purple is…purple.
The customer did it own his own. We do not have this information

I have a few questions as a mechanic...

What does massage parlor music have to do with building a Santa Cruz bike?🤨
If you were able to be there in person the essence of lavender filled the room. Also there were piles of warm towels at the ready. Build one of these and tell me it doesn't make you super relaxed.
Fook me i grease the shit out of everything & use a torque wrench on a whole lot more too.....👌👌
everything in moderation homie
Who’s build is this?
Nick's
