I very much enjoyed this video. The content is what I am looking for and your narration was spot on and entertaining. Subscribed and would love more older bike rescues.

Need some help, planning on buying one of these and they say it has a timing issue and doesn't run, is the rotary valve timing? And how would you fix it? How can you tell if it's the rotary valve? I NEED HELP. Ps,your channel is extremely underrated

I doubt it's a rotary valve timing issue. It's almost impossible for the rotary valve on these bikes to not be timed correctly. The only way it can happen is if someone tore the whole engine down, and reinstalled the rotary disc backwards.
If they say it has a "timing issue", I'd say it's much more likely that they're referring to ignition timing. These bikes use a points-style ignition to control when the spark happens, and if it's not set properly the bike won't run. Check out this video from Kevin Bergeron(an expert on these engines) that explains more: th-cam.com/video/F0WtBOapvhM/w-d-xo.html

@@SpinningWrenches Thank you for the info, would that cause it to not have spark?

Soak the bolts in a penetrating oil, heat them with a torch, and give them some ugga-duggas with a breaker bar. If you snap them, you can always drill them out and re-tap the holes for a slightly larger bolt.

eBay. Looks like the exact listing I bought from is gone now.
