You complain about iconography, but deciphering them is waaaaaaaaaaay easier than translating texts into my language, making the right-sized frames and putting right-sized texts into them by using photoshop, printing the sheets (which costs extra money), cutting them and pasting them onto the (sleeved) cards, one by one.

It seems TMG need to work on their rulebook writing skills. Their rules for Eminent Domain: Microcosm are also very poor.

To be fair to TMG, it was us at Surprised Stare Games :-( We worked on it SO much...but sometimes the little details slip through. Sorry.

I think you need to get a new player to write the basis of it - ie someone who can write instructions who's literally just been taught it - similar to what you probably do with the later stages of game testing. Referring to a piece or concept before it's explained is a classic, and so many instructions out there do it. It confuses the narrative flow for people who've not played it yet, and consequently I've read instructions that have taken me longer to get to grips with than to eventually (ie after jumping in) play the game.

Seems like a decent game. I find it very interesting how this game, if it had come out last year, probably would have been just another "also ran". This year, at least at this point, it's being touted as 1 or 2 games of the year,(Seafall, Dead of Winter xpac) Quite the contrast from last year...So Far.

yup forgot Scythe...Still, imo, drastically less than last year. Hope Gen Con and Essen prove me wrong.

Coming here 2 yrs after its release we can clearly see this game success was highly (negatively) impacted by its symbology... People gave up on it and now the game retails for $20 or under... It is a shame and, despite the increased costs to do otherwise, using the insane symbology was a marketing disaster... I wished TMG would now release for sale an add-on deck of cards where instructions would be printed on the card... Just do it on the most common gaming languages and there you go...

Race for the galaxy level symbology.
    Okay I'm out.

It's nowhere near as complex as Race once you get playing. Excellent reference sheets mean you're up to speed with the symbology after a game or two.
