It’s fine to be picky, if you’re the customer and you are not too sure what may work. I love that the consultant did not pressure her and was patient.

That's because this is the Canadian one and they tend to be more passive. Even consultants/workers in the business world aren't taught hard sell. They tend to treat it as the corporate advertisers job . If I started going on about how much I really enjoyed something (if I really liked some product at work), they'd kinda look at me like 'okay, maybe I'll try it' ,but still a kind of funny expression ,like they don't expect you to over enthuse to the point of heavy advertisement,'they like it,they like it,they don't,they don't '.
One American book seller was at a collective/conference book sale,and the next year he didn't show up and everyone was looking for his table. Most of the people took note of something they might like next year and came back it ,but he didn't think he did enough business the first year, which is hard to expect from Canadians.
Even though I'm not always crazy about the dresses they choose in this one,it is more laid back. They probably have it stipulated in their television contracts that they're going to buy a dress there the same as all the rest do ,anyway.
What a patient consultant......

Girl, if you are ever going to read this: this is exactly how wedding appointment should be. You are coming there to pick sth you are paying and you did it on a very gentle way. You weren't angry or mean. I wish more people saw your attitude and followed on it. And I wish a lot of love and luck to you and your groom!
Also small note for consultant: you are example of how consultant in any shop should be: taking in all inputs and pros/cons with grace and calm, and knowing really good your products in shop.

being picky is fine but KNOW WHAT YOU WANT. it's endlessly frustrating to ask someone "what do you want" and they say "i can't decide" but when you show them the options they just go "not that, not that, not that, not that." real talk, if you don't want to spend thousands on a dress that isn't your perfect unicorn dream dress, then BUY A CHEAP DRESS ON EBAY.
@@dietotaku what you want may not be right for you when you try it on. Most people find it easier to know what they don't want, by a process of elimination they can more easily refine their choices.

I love this consultant! she is so real. A stylist has to be the clients best friend. Some of the other stylists on SYTTD are a bit judgy and impatient and, dare I say it, unwilling to do the hard yards for the client who needs it; this consultant was completely unfazed-- which is just as it should be. And to give this bride credit, I wouldn't have wanted to try on the dresses shown, either. Bridal fashion back then, when the video was made, certainly didn't have the range that exists today.
She's spend thousands for that dress. she has every right to be picky .
If you’re spending thousands of dollars of your hard earned money on one dress..be picky!
Or don't be be obsessed and spend a ridiculous amount of money on a one day dress.
8 dresses is not a lot. It's the most important dress of your life. I think brides should try at least 10 dresses before choosing the one.

The way the consultant hugged her, I felt it cause she was working working 😂. But I’m glad she found THE dress. But ladies always remember you have to try on the dress versus casting it out cause it’s on the hanger‼️

There was nothing wrong with the bride, she just knew what she was looking for and politely commented on the things she didn't like about the dresses being shown to her

It can be hard to describe what you like to. It's a new world with words and looks you not used to use and a type of dress you never have on. If not have a dream type of dress you need to find it without know what to ask for
I was almost sold on the poofy ball gown (if the tailor took out a little volume), but the last dress is the one! It’s perfect.

Yes, she was picky, but a weeding dress has to be right. I think if she gave the consultant a clearer idea of what she did and didn't want to begin with, she might have only needed to try on 2 or 3 dresses. The consultant was excellent, showing patience and guiding the bride towards her final choice. Also, how wonderfully supportive were her friends and family?
I don't think she had any idea what she wanted...hence the constant indecision.

It's a good thing that she's picky because most of the times this day comes once in a marriage, so everything under the couple's 100% control (the dress being 100% under the bride's control) should be perfect. She might have been too picky by not trying on some dresses the consultant brought.
it’s ok to be a little picky when it comes to a wedding dress. but again, no wedding is gonna be 100% perfect or go the way you want it. But it will still be good regardless.

Why the manufactured drama of a "picky bride" in the title? 8 dresses is very reasonable to find the One! When my daughter bought her wedding gown, the consultant asked her to start by picking out 8 to initially try on. She found her perfect, incredibly beautiful dress from those.

When I was a kid in Toronto, we all went to Casa Loma every school year on a field trip.. I can remember it vividly.. I lost the buckle off my brand new patent leather shoes.. I was gutted.. it was a Christmas time trip..sigh.. good times

I don’t understand why the bride doesn’t come in with a picture to give the consultants an idea of what she wants instead of expecting everyone to run around and circles to try to figure out what’s in her head. I mean eight wedding dresses isn’t a lot but at the same time it would help her and the shop if she had an idea what it is she wanted. I don’t understand that. When m I got the married I had pictures, I had ideas, I knew what I wanted, and I knew what I didn’t.
None of the dresses looked appealing to me. Other than the ball gown, the dresses did not fit her properly.
