Hey Kyle. Ok with Permanent codes are different. They need a different drive cycle to clear them but that’s only after you fix the problem from what I can gather. I had an o2 code that was permanent and I disabled it. Months later it was still there. It wasn’t until I replaced the o2 sensor and did the drive cycle did it finally clear. I found permanent codes will not fail you in emissions though. I took my Tahoe in with a permanent code and it still passed since there were no current codes. My suggestion to anyone who has a 2009 and newer vehicle, which is the year permanent codes started coming into production vehicles, is before you make swaps like header install and remove the rear o2 sensors. Disable the codes before you start the actual swapping of parts. Then you won’t get the permanent code to come up.
Last time I had emissions check(I live in a CARB state) I had a failed o2 sensor and hadn't figured it out by the time I did my check causing a p0300 with flashing CEL.Somehow passed with flying colors. Also found out later that my cats were hollow for that test which really makes me question what the whole point of emissions is.
9:18 I think you hit the nail on the head there. Tuners and gear-heads aren't the problem... it's the folks who don't fix their car when it "can't tell you if it is all is okay" that are the problem. Fixing a car early will always be more cost effective. The problem is most folks aren't in tune with the story their car is telling them and they drive it to an early grave. Just because you and I might do the right thing and keep our car running good, clean , and safe.... do you trust that everyone else is doing that? Speaking of safety, it is impossible to statistically prove a negative to determine how effective safety inspections are... but I know one death prevented is worth it... especially if it is someone I care about. :) Now if only everyone would do the right thing and keep their cars running clean and safe!.. of course if they did that then no cars would ever fail safety or emissions tests because they'd be all fixed and ready before they came in for inspection. The fact that cars fail tells me that folks aren't as responsible as we'd like them to be. (Society caters to the lowest common denominator. Keep being excellent!!!)
Thanks for the info man. Really enjoy your videos. I'm almost ready to start tuning my 5.3 lm7 swapped s10. Definitely gonna be watching more of your gen 3 stuff so I can dial in idle.
Good video. They just finally got rid of the etest here in Ontario April 2019 thank god. I have a 94 mustang and it was a headache to even think about driving that car.
Quick question...trying to set some dtcs to no ses enable and no error reported, but the entire row is greyed out and cannot modify. Any reason it's like that??
Hp tuners makes you watch some videos and take some tests. After you complete and pass the tests. Afterwards they open things up and allow modification to evap systems. I found a video on TH-cam. I believe goat rope made it.
How are people writing tune files and all the monitors instantly set to complete for plug in inspections? Are they just turning all thr codes off. And it instantly forces monitors on?
I’m here kuz I removed cats for my street race set up challenger. People assume it’s to get around not fixing a car, no it’s to get around bogged performance for arbitrary laws
Thanks for the videos I have no rear o2 sensor And Hp tuner will not let me turn those codes off They are in Gray On the list Any other options to keep them from setting a light on the dash hp tuner mpvl 3 thanks
Goat Rope Garage So the whole chart all of them no DTC‘s to off or just the certain ones like the O2s and the cats put don’t report fault or no check engine light
So I have mpvi2 like this and I only have enable on my screen? The check box why don’t I have the second check box with options?????? What am I doing wrong
So my camaro ss was starting from remote when i Got a Tune... Cleared Dtc’s with VCM Scanner and now i cant Remote start car🤷🏽♂️ Any problem solving tips?
U can not turn off permanent codes u have to down load the factory tune then up load it back to the pcm and that will delete the permanent codes then re download the tune and u can do whatever you want because the permanent codes are gone
I wonder if this method would work on my 2022 camaro lt1, I installed my tune first then went full bolt ons and got codes for the o2 sensors permanent smh. I'll try this in the morning
Where can i send u all the dtc's u have to put no error so u can disable them to instantly complete the readiness checks, if u already know them disregard my message
No, we stalled out and I didn't want people's funds sitting locked up for almost two months as some people had donated big chunks. We will be doing something soon, though!

dang bro, that was an excellent video. I learn more & more everytime I "tune" in.

Rocking that Holden shirt eh bro.
THANK YOU, Greatly appreciate your videos.
God i love living in Indiana.
Good info as always. Reminds me why Nebraska livin' aint so bad. 🚙💨💨👃👌
Can you make a video on how to modify an E38 ECU calibration to support LT Headers?
This is dope!

So permanent codes will go away eventually? Even in cars 09 and later?
OK so you disabled the low fuel level code. By doing that will that stop the evap emissions monitor not run and stay incomplete or not ready?
Good question. That's what I want to know as well.
hi ,,, is this function possible for the cars which is not tuned before ? mean orignal cars without having any tune ???
If i disable dod with hp tuners in california can i still pass smog?????
Id like to know this as well.
Now on the cat or the o2 sensors will the monitors be ready or will they never be ready and is there a way around it if so there not ready
Set all DTCs to off, but you didn't hear it here...
Goat Rope Garage So the whole chart all of them no DTC‘s to off or just the certain ones like the O2s and the cats put don’t report fault or no check engine light
Goat Rope Garage Also is it worth tuning a stock SS Camaro or a GT Mustang or a hell cat
I don’t have that drop down menu “no error”
So I have mpvi2 like this and I only have enable on my screen? The check box why don’t I have the second check box with options?????? What am I doing wrong
It's probably your ECM, don't worry about it if the second one isn't there
same here,i'm only showing mil or ses.why don't i see the rest of the options, like no report ?
So my camaro ss was starting from remote when i Got a Tune... Cleared Dtc’s with VCM Scanner and now i cant Remote start car🤷🏽♂️ Any problem solving tips?
No clue, crazy issue
bought a car with ECU tunedup aftermarket, car came withthe original ECU.can i just put original back no problem Or program?checkengine on that’swhy
Living on the bald a$$ prairie in Canada is awesome. Never heard of an emissions test.

@@cregxy let me know I am curious if it will we all need to share how to work around this stuff
Did this work?
Where can i send u all the dtc's u have to put no error so u can disable them to instantly complete the readiness checks, if u already know them disregard my message
Haha, send it over to info@goatropegarage.com probably a lot easier than disabling all...
Message Sent also got a chance to buy a decal
@@hsullivancity Appreciate the information and the support!
I need that message also
Does this process work for all permanent dtc's?
How do u rest monsters
If there wasn't any money in the emissions tests. I'm sure the environment would be better without them. No dyno tests could help save the planet.
Is the pg4car still going? My donation got refunded
No, we stalled out and I didn't want people's funds sitting locked up for almost two months as some people had donated big chunks. We will be doing something soon, though!
I wonder if my truck can identify as a preemission electric bike?
Is there anyway to pass emissions testing after deleting your cats and installing long tubes
No
@@creoleVI 🤪😜😝
