I think this is a great start and will be getting a few packs, but I really hope they put more effort into actually making a complete bug out bag system built around the concept or something modular or just expanding the idea in some way beyond these wraps. My only concern is that they may not be long enough to wrap around some handles and will of course interfere with the "handling" but not a big issue. I cant believe they sent you 150 lol thats a lot of envelopes to send out for GAWs, you should definitely be getting royalties for this great concept YOU created.

How wonderful, Cliff, congratulations! I'm guessing that the color-coded strips of hook-n-loops are specific to Vanquest's own divider/kit bags because the strips do not look long enough to wrap around the handles of most gear/b.o.b.s; I know my various laptop bags have much thicker handles that would need longer color coding straps to stay wrapped around and stay securely on each category bag. I suppose one could just get minimal yardage of colored ribbons [most webbing does not come in so many unique colors] and just tie them on to the various categories of prepper bags/kits. Again, great job getting this function started, along with compiling the survey/results, collabs etc. Thank you, and Vanquest, for the generosity of the product giveaways. In response to your comment I just wanted to encourage you that we designed the kit to be used with any organizer with a hook and loop field or small handle. We look forward to seeing different people's uses of the strips with their own unique ideas. With that in mind, one idea for people who might use these for larger bags rather than individual organizers, is to connect two strips of the same color end to end in order to wrap a larger handle :) Best Regards, Jeremy @ Vanquest Team
Yes I've done that extending thing for many years [I've sewn since 1959 and then added sewing and home-n-garden projects that involved Velcro when it first was introduced. I used the longer lengths to manage & mark bundles of heavy cables, hoses etc that were thicker than the hook n loop strips were long, it's just an annoyance thing, to always have to do things piece-meal rather than use them as bought, intended, etc w/o a lot of modification. I've always had to live a make-do life as did my two previous generations of ancestors [Great Depression, WWII era, etc]. While it forces one to be creative and frugal, there are the occasional times when I wish I could just buy something that works the first time around, as intended. ;-))

That is awesome! It's great that the companies are paying more attention to what their audience is doing and making products we want. And even better that YOU were given credit for the idea and given samples. It gave me a great ideas to start to color code my gear using pencil pouches; different colored, relatively cheap zipper pouches with a clear window to view items inside and the grommets make it easy to keep multiple pouches together if all of one type can't fit in on pack, for example I am using one pouch for my primary med kit,(serious trauma, etc) and the secondary for more speciality/convenience med items. Thanks for the great channel with excellent info. I appreciate the practicality of channels like yours and PreparedMind101.

Cliff, I've been a fan of yours for years...I've been prepping since '05 but I learned so much from your videos & very proudly shared the knowledge to my friends & family...now everyone in the family (I have 5 daughters plus my mom & sis) are all equipped with a BOB, I have several of them in each of our bedrooms & both our cars. I just got a set! I'm have had a problem organizing . Thank you for being humble and letting them produce something! My husband thought I was going crazy at first but has become more suppotive with me prepping. I think he just likes how it's become more organized as I learn more.
I found the color coding kit the night before Thanksgiving. My first reaction was. "holy shnikies, Vanquest ripped off the Urban Prepper". I was relieved to this video posted and clear vanquests name. In the video you say that the Vanquest guys are really good guys. I would like to back you up on that. I purchased a Javelin 3.0 VSlinger (fantastic bag) the main strap was just too small for me (ex football linemen). I called Vanquest, the guy that answered phone put me on hold. He actually went into the back and found me a length of strapping and a color matched buckle to fix my issue. They barely charged me anything plus shipping. For service like that I would have paid whatever they asked. Thanks Vanquest. You really have a ton of work in on the color of prepping. I hope that the GOOD GUYS at Vanquest send you many bags and organizers to review (Hint hint Vanquest). Happy Prepping and Happy Holidays to all!

I knew you were on to something big when I took that survey and immediately updated my preps to include the system as soon as your results video came out. It 's certainly been beneficial with my non prepper friends, and they're more comfortable going into my pack, which is the ultimate goal, I think. These are a great idea. My daughter colour coded our family when she was two and we've stuck with it ever since for bags, door signs etc.: blue for me, red for my wife, green for her and now purple for her baby sister. Definitely going on the Christmas list...

I have been watching your videos for quite sometime now and have adapted your color coding scheme too. Of course, living in Turkey, unfortunately we can not get Vanquest product here officially, so I use whatever bags and packs I can... and use your color coding with various ribbons and printed stickers - attached on smaller bags/back in my BOB(s). This kit will definitely make tagging and coding really easy and convenient (you can shift bags/packs as needed and through out time - without needing to hunt for bags in different colors! Thanks for fathering the awesome idea Cliff!
Very good idea. Just in case you are incapacitated, just by color some one else can help. Looking inside your bag and looking at the color can save a lot of time. Who knows, it may save your life...

How exciting to have a manufacturer you really like pick up one of your ideas and develop a useful product. and obviously you could go out and buy some colored velcro and do this yourself, but to have it all in one kit, along with the morale patch, is definitely cool and makes it much easier.

How wonderful, Cliff, congratulations! I'm guessing that the color-coded strips of hook-n-loops are specific to Vanquest's own divider/kit bags because the strips do not look long enough to wrap around the handles of most gear/b.o.b.s; I know my various laptop bags have much thicker handles that would need longer color coding straps to stay wrapped around and stay securely on each category bag. I suppose one could just get minimal yardage of colored ribbons [most webbing does not come in so many unique colors] and just tie them on to the various categories of prepper bags/kits.
Again, great job getting this function started, along with compiling the survey/results, collabs etc.

In response to your comment I just wanted to encourage you that we designed the kit to be used with any organizer with a hook and loop field or small handle. We look forward to seeing different people's uses of the strips with their own unique ideas. With that in mind, one idea for people who might use these for larger bags rather than individual organizers, is to connect two strips of the same color end to end in order to wrap a larger handle :)

Yes I've done that extending thing for many years [I've sewn since 1959 and then added sewing and home-n-garden projects that involved Velcro when it first was introduced. I used the longer lengths to manage & mark bundles of heavy cables, hoses etc that were thicker than the hook n loop strips were long, it's just an annoyance thing, to always have to do things piece-meal rather than use them as bought, intended, etc w/o a lot of modification. I've always had to live a make-do life as did my two previous generations of ancestors [Great Depression, WWII era, etc]. While it forces one to be creative and frugal, there are the occasional times when I wish I could just buy something that works the first time around, as intended. ;-))

It's great to see that companies are paying attention to the videos that you put out. Keep up the good work.
That is awesome! It's great that the companies are paying more attention to what their audience is doing and making products we want. And even better that YOU were given credit for the idea and given samples. It gave me a great ideas to start to color code my gear using pencil pouches; different colored, relatively cheap zipper pouches with a clear window to view items inside and the grommets make it easy to keep multiple pouches together if all of one type can't fit in on pack, for example I am using one pouch for my primary med kit,(serious trauma, etc) and the secondary for more speciality/convenience med items.

Cliff, I've been a fan of yours for years...I've been prepping since '05 but I learned so much from your videos & very proudly shared the knowledge to my friends & family...now everyone in the family (I have 5 daughters plus my mom & sis) are all equipped with a BOB, I have several of them in each of our bedrooms & both our cars. Prepping is a work-in progress & I will never stop doing it, I have your videos to remind me how easy & fun it is to do. I just got a set! I'm have had a problem organizing . Thank you for being humble and letting them produce something! My husband thought I was going crazy at first but has become more suppotive with me prepping. I think he just likes how it's become more organized as I learn more.
I found the color coding kit the night before Thanksgiving. My first reaction was. "holy shnikies, Vanquest ripped off the Urban Prepper". I was relieved to this video posted and clear vanquests name.
In the video you say that the Vanquest guys are really good guys. I would like to back you up on that. I purchased a Javelin 3.0 VSlinger (fantastic bag) the main strap was just too small for me (ex football linemen). I called Vanquest, the guy that answered phone put me on hold. He actually went into the back and found me a length of strapping and a color matched buckle to fix my issue. They barely charged me anything plus shipping. For service like that I would have paid whatever they asked. Thanks Vanquest.
You really have a ton of work in on the color of prepping. I hope that the GOOD GUYS at Vanquest send you many bags and organizers to review (Hint hint Vanquest).

I knew you were on to something big when I took that survey and immediately updated my preps to include the system as soon as your results video came out. It 's certainly been beneficial with my non prepper friends, and they're more comfortable going into my pack, which is the ultimate goal, I think. Shaving down time when someone needs the quikclot is something I think we can all agree is for the best. Congrats on seeing this wonderful system come to life!

As you've probably noticed by my comments, I'm a long time fan.
You inspired me to prep, And I have been so regretful for that, as there have been lots of occasions where my preps have saved the day, occasions where strangers and friends have injured themselves, slightly and severely, I have been able to help them because of my preps. a few times i have came across diabetics who have had no snacks on them, I've been able to help with that.
It seems you have an endless amount to contribute to the prepping community.
I am sincerely thankful to you for sharing your thoughts/ideas.

These are a great idea. My daughter colour coded our family when she was two and we've stuck with it ever since for bags, door signs etc.: blue for me, red for my wife, green for her and now purple for her baby sister. Definitely going on the Christmas list...

This is a awesome idea to organize your gear. I've seen the original color coding video and i thought it was a very good way to sort out your prepping stuff. Shoutout to Vanquest and of course Cliff for making it easy in the world of prepping!
I have been watching your videos for quite sometime now and have adapted your color coding scheme too. Of course, living in Turkey, unfortunately we can not get Vanquest product here officially, so I use whatever bags and packs I can... and use your color coding with various ribbons and printed stickers - attached on smaller bags/back in my BOB(s). This kit will definitely make tagging and coding really easy and convenient (you can shift bags/packs as needed and through out time - without needing to hunt for bags in different colors! Thanks for fathering the awesome idea Cliff!
Very good idea. Just in case you are incapacitated, just by color some one else can help. Looking inside your bag and looking at the color can save a lot of time. Who knows, it may save your life...
