Love seeing the climbs again. Really love riding (and descending) Les Deux Alpes. Not very hard climb, and a great descend. Wide roads, nice sweeping bends, loved every second of it. And the only part where my weight finally helps me being faster than you (by almost 90s 😁).That route looked great though, and looks like a fun day out when in the region. Did the part from the top of the Alpe to where you rode through that water splash on the Sarenne on the first day when I was there. Didn't descend (or climb) the Sarenne fully, as like you said, the road surface isn't optimal. Great views though. Really love the content of this trip, as the Alpe has a special place in my heart since last year.

Descending when I was in the “pro peloton” wasn’t an issue so much for me. For me it’s a mental switch, I used to just follow and put trust in following the bunch down big mountains but being a lighter rider it brings its own challenges. I think it’s more so now that I’m super rusty. What you say is true though, to be a pro you must have a good skill set

I decended the sarrene last week was absolutely petrified the whole way down that surface is awful , gravely into the bends.
Good grief. You were brave. First thing I got told when I went a couple of years ago was do not descend that way down the alp.

I wonder how often poor descending or a fear of descending at high speed costs people going from ‘good cyclist’ to pro cyclist.
