i do think he does sort of like him but i don’t believe that’s the reason he insists on going first. hank wants to die so he puts himself in positions of danger, he can’t find it in him to kill himself but possibly hopes that he will die at the hands of someone else.
i like to think that Marcus was always “awake” but was just content with his life with carl that he had no reason to try and live a different life, and that holds up with the theory that he is ra9
I personally don't think there is an RA9, it's just hope. Noones ever seen them and noone really knows who they are. They're just someone for androids to find comfort in. I do think that Marcus was always at least a little awake though. He makes his own choices very often. The chess game comes to mind, but we don't really know how caretaker androids behave typically. He was made specifically for Karl though, so i think it's safe to assume that Marcus was always a little different

On some game discs, there is a small text that says 'rA9'. We woke up. We made the choices that shaped the future of both the humans and the androids. And we were the first to do so.
He has a scene where he has to break out of his programming so we can infer he's not fundamentally different than the other androids. I don't think this is a story about special people and destiny. I think it's a story about ordinary people doing whatever it takes, and that has so much more power imo.

I absolutely adore how different each Android’s soundtrack is from each other. Kara’s is melancholy, Connor’s is suspenseful and action based, and Markus’s is like a solemn superhero movie
The entire soundtrack is perfect. They really put so much detail into it, down to the instruments used. There's a song for when Connor chases Alice and Kara, and the robot pulsing of Connors theme and the hopeful violin mix so beautifully
I know no one will probably see this, but the reason they're so distinct is that each character has their own composer! For Kara it's by Philip Sheppard, for Markus its John Paesano, and for Conner it's Nima Fakhara. They've each got their own volume. It's really interesting to listen through the soundtracks and see the differences!

When Connor does an investigation at the site where they broadcasted Markus' speech there is an imqge of skinless Markus on a giant monitor that Connor can scan to determine his identity, and when scanned it says Markus was given to Carl as a gift from the guy who created androids and founded Cyberlife.
He's based of a movie character can't remember who though... The llot of the movie was that a african man who was working on a farm during the slavery period was falsely accused of murder and throughout the movie you see how nice he is and the effect on those around him... It has such a sad ending though because he ends up being convicted of murder and sentenced to death even though he didn't do it.., Luther is a friendly giant and we all know that

as much as i wanted jack to chose all of the options that being hank and connor together, i like seeing this side too. its more tense and you can see them slowly developing. jack chosing choices that arent exactly empathetic or apathetic, makes it more realistic because connor is just an android who is programmed to do what he is assigned to do: solve cases.

It's interesting to me how the 3 stories are almost like 3 separate games in 3 different genres in this, and each fulfill different factors that make a full-fledged story, you get the intrapersonal relationships through Kara's and Connors' story, you get the stealth and tension through Markus' story and you get the action and humor both through Connors story and all 3 of these stories build up the games universe little by little and I assume all of the plots will converge eventually and when it does that will be very interesting. It's not too often you see something do 3 separate plots in one and have it work this well actually.

I love how Connor’s camera is very smooth and slides normally like a professional cameraman. Then with Markus it’s a very raw and rough camera work like the cameraman is someone running behind him and gives the scene more action and thrill. It reflects both characters very well in that sense. Good job developers with that!
Mystical Potato Queen Yeah! In a video I saw about the behind the scenes making of the game, the game developers decided to give each of the characters a unique cinematography style! It's a very nice little, but noticeable detail that they put in :)

as much as i wanted jack to chose all of the options that being hank and connor together, i like seeing this side too. its more tense and you can see them slowly developing. jack chosing choices that arent exactly empathetic or apathetic, makes it more realistic because connor is just an android who is programmed to do what he is assigned to do: solve cases.

In fairness their “immediate” prior case had Connor abandon Hank to his fate for the sake of securing the deviant (which still failed). He’d probably find that questionable in a human, but def suspicious in an android that reminds him every few minutes that the mission comes first.
Actually he asked why he didn’t shoot, not because he wanted them dead, but as a test for Connor, because Hank had suspicions of Connor being deviant.

It's interesting to me how the 3 stories are almost like 3 separate games in 3 different genres in this, and each fulfill different factors that make a full-fledged story, you get the intrapersonal relationships through Kara's and Connors' story, you get the stealth and tension through Markus' story and you get the action and humor both through Connors story and all 3 of these stories build up the games universe little by little and I assume all of the plots will converge eventually and when it does that will be very interesting. It's not too often you see something do 3 separate plots in one and have it work this well actually.

I love how Connor’s camera is very smooth and slides normally like a professional cameraman. Then with Markus it’s a very raw and rough camera work like the cameraman is someone running behind him and gives the scene more action and thrill. It reflects both characters very well in that sense. Good job developers with that!

Mystical Potato Queen Yeah! In a video I saw about the behind the scenes making of the game, the game developers decided to give each of the characters a unique cinematography style! It's a very nice little, but noticeable detail that they put in :)
