I have a 2012 Nissan Sentra S with over 224,000 miles on it. Never had an issue with the original CVT. I changed the fluid every 60,000 miles as required in the owner’s manual. Nissan is capable to be reliable as Toyota and Honda. You haters should learn how to read a manual and drive a car properly and you won’t have any problems long term.
This is so much better than the previous model. The styling is great. The practicality of the interior features are definitely everyday and family friendly. The pricing is reasonable. Not to mention the mpg is competitive. The only complaint I can see is the infotainment/tech that does seems to be slower than it’s competitors.
Never ever have been a nissan fan or even considered buying one for my growing family, but they have my attention now. I will definitely be taking a closer look at this!
Take a look at a 2021 Rogue. The new ones are the best selling SUV in America. It's a beautiful car. Actually any nissan 2020 and newer will make you think twice.
I’ll take this over the Telluride simply because of its towing capacity. Ruggedness /capability is more important than some family speaker interaction audio. Reality over gimmicky!
This vehicle might be more rugged (although there isn't really evidence of that), but it does have a lot more gloss black. The main reason I would pick this over the Telluride/Palisade is that Nissan usually has a lot of dealer incentives and it has slightly better fuel economy
Our 04 R50 was unstoppable. Taco bell curbs, things on the highway, it ran over everything, but had difficulty passing a gas station. Still sad we departed with it after 13 years and this "new" Pathfinder is a welcome sight and has the potential to put a Nissan back in the garage
Is it just me or is your daughter getting taller with every video. Its been really enjoyable to watch her grow up and give more input over the last couple years. Another great review from a great family!
I think it’s to save money but also when you’re out of warranty sure would suck to have to pay about $1000 for a whole new headlight, whenever it’s only your turn signal that went out.
@@NissanAltimaGuy the turn signals in the lower models (such as the model in the video) are bulbs. Led bulbs are extremely cheap. Led light bars are a completely different story. Most of those are lit via a chip and are little more expensive. Now the expense to replace both types depends on what the stealership charges for labor and parts, and how unnecessarily complicated the manufacturer designs the housing. Doesn't change the fact the led bulbs are cheap for manufacturers to provide.
I went to a local auto show this past weekend. I was really pretty certain on an RDX as our next purchase, but once I saw the Pathfinder, at $47k, and the additional space it has, it kind of threw a wrench in my RDX plans. Really loving this car. I came back to look at it 3 times throughout the show.
I have the 2016 pathfinder SL beautiful car I love it but this model dame Its so beautiful I can't resist to say this is the most beautiful looking nissan inside out.
Nissan has really step up there game with this pathfinder. Getting rid of the CVT was the smartest idea yet. The murano is well overdue for a redesign.
Few have their taste think looks better than ongoing model. I never planned buying a Pathfinder as did like every generation now fifth generation is on my list. I have been driving a SUV for 6 years it's a Nissan. When get ready buy my Pathfinder going with the Platinum with light gray or Chestnut interior. So happy doesn't have a CVT anymore added a 9 speed automatic like the new logo. Think it's a beautiful vehicle perfect for family or someone wants a bigger car as me ever decide go fishing be perfect car towing my boat or traveling using RV nice hauling, love the styling even rear is gorgeous.
Synopsis: The 2022 Pathfinder plays it safe when other car manufacturers are playing fast and loose. Sure, it may not bring anything innovative to the table, but for 99% of your drive, you just want things to work and hope that the latest and greatest "feature" isn't a ploy by R&D for something marketable down the road.
First of all, thank you for such a great review on this vehicle Micah! I've been a fan of yours ever since I started watching the Kelly Blue Book videos on TH-cam! Oh, and of course, I'm a fan of Lyn and the rest of the crew as well! 😁 But, yeah, the 2022 Pathfinder is a pretty darn good SUV as far as I'm concerned. I drove a 2019 Pathfinder, which wasn't too bad at all itself, but the 2022 Pathfinder is a different animal! I feel that there's still some room here and there for improvements, but overall, it's pretty good! Thank you always Micah!
Got some really good running shots. That blue is 👌🏾. Overall, it seems like the new Pathfinder is just GOOD, in a good way if that makes sense. Even though it doesn’t check all of the boxes, it checks the most important ones and leaves the gimmicks alone. Good solid styling but nothing over the top and it will age well. And the interior is really practical and well laid out with a high dose of quality materials. But there is a lot of piano black plastic.
Maybe if you direct the AC output to the defog registers rather than the dashboard registers the GoPros on the windshield would be in the line of fire and not overheat? They probably bake in the sun up there.
Family reviews matter! I really like the new Pathfinder. If I were in the market looking for a Mid-Size SUV this would be my first choice. BUT! I already have the R52 Pathfinder platinum and it is solid, if it’s keep well maintained.. 😊
I think the new Pathfinder looks great, inside and out, and I really like your tester's blue paint. I hope you can do a test of the new Mitsubishi Outlander for comparison. I saw a new Outlander parked across the street last night, and I must say it looks to be a vastly better, higher quality vehicle. The silver paint looked awesome as well, like it belonged on a much more expensive vehicle. Good things are happening. Now we just need the manufacturers to stop using shiny black plastic (my pet peeve as well). I hope GoPro knows about their overheating issues, since this is not good advertising for their cameras 😟
Serious question..do u think the AC wasn't getting cool enough in the cabin that's why GO Pro was over heating..? I have seen other reviews that talk about AC not getting cold enough IN the 2022 Pathfinder...
I think I like it, especially with the powertrain combination. V6 with a 9-speed sounds perfect. I would have also preferred the newer Rogue but it has a cvt and less than 200 hp. Boo boo.
Lol is it Me or is Evie getting pretty punchy with her automotive standards quips and comparisons? The confidence of knowledge is coming through very clearly. Micah, you might be able to take some videos off soon enough :) lol even your daughter doing the elbows up!? You're in trouble. Ps. I don't think you're getting a Go Pro sponsorship anytime soon.
This is the best style 7 seater. I am not sure how the transmission is, as I keep on hearing the previous vehicle had transmission issue. But other than that, I would prefer it over other similiar vehicles
Hi Micah, I've been following your Helicopter videos for the past year. Love all the ones around L.A. and O.C. Are you taking suggestions on upcoming flights? There is a Jeep gig at Bolsa Chica Beach next month. Nothing but wall to wall Jeeps in 4 parking lots. Would this be worth a flyover video?
I like this car. The only problem I see is the bump under the rear seats. When you slide the seats back for more room, it gets in the way of keeping a relaxed posture - this could be nit picking but I really didn't like that bump when I went to test drive.
For me who is living in a very hot weather area is it better to get the black roof top or a unicolor body ? Will it be extra hot inside the car from absorbing more sun rays ?
Love it! It’s very well done. Just missing Full LED lighting interior & exterior. I’m sure they did that intentionally. So in a few new model changes they can add it. So you will want to upgrade. Common practice by manufacturers
There’s only a few things that I’m interested on finding out 1-Is the PF s trim model comes with a transmission cooler or only the SV and above model? 2- in you need to tow your PF for whatever reason or issue, do you need the expensive tool to put it in neutral when the engine won’t turn on or no power from battery etc? 3- how’s the PF AWD system ? 4- does it start on 2nd gear or 1? For example on the Honda it’s starts on 2nd gear the transmission and rarely get into the 9nd gear so it’s like a 7spd
Can't really answer any of that other then I know it uses the second generation ZF 9 speed transmission. This is NOT a in house Jatco design. And the second generation has a different mapping/tune then the older 9 speed that some didn't like. Honda used the first gen ZF 9 speed but they went to their own in house 10 speed.
Micah, maybe you could try some heat resistant material or some sort of cover on the gopro to keep it out of the direct sun light, I bet that would help.
Just finished watching your Subaru Ascent video and then watched this pathfinder video. Immediately I notice it looks like the front row/seating space is huge compared to the Ascent. Like you are sitting on thrones, laid back, etc rather than the Subaru Ascent's more 'hugging' feel of the front seats.
I think the styling is really handsome and modern without any of the weirdness and nastiness of typical toyota designs. If nissan can improve the reliability to pre renault levels ,it would be a best buy. Their new line up looks set to change their image.
Did the 2nd row seat tilt automatically even with the booster seat attached or did you have to manually push at the same time? I know there is a weight limitation so I'm wonder if it will work with a typical average car seat installed or if I have to push at the same to facilitate the process.
Hi! I was curious on your take on the front row legroom with a backward facing carseat in the second row. I know you showed the video with a front facing carseat but wanted to see your opinion as a family, since we have a rear facing carseat. Thanks!
Probably the best looking Nissan inside and out in decade. Well done, Nissan!
...maxima looks pretty sharp. Although it's price has ballooned beyond a good value, the maxima has been silently do its job in the shadows.
The armada? The gtr?
I like the Murano better
The GTR? The Z?

this one doesn't have a CVT, sooooo yeah
That's great. But all those drivers that did the same thing and had major issues with their cvt doesn't help.
This is so much better than the previous model. The styling is great. The practicality of the interior features are definitely everyday and family friendly. The pricing is reasonable. Not to mention the mpg is competitive. The only complaint I can see is the infotainment/tech that does seems to be slower than it’s competitors.
That's an unlikely thing just because it is best in class for power and towing. My guess is it's faster unless its significantly heavier.
This Pathfinder looks SO much better than the previous generation. Loving the brawny new looks!

same here, just got SL for msrp. I am very impressed and engine - transmission is great.
finally someone made a review of a family car with a family!

This has the same zf9 transmission in the jeep Cherokee(not grand cherokee). Watch reviews of the transmission and tell me if you’d still buy it.
@@worlddxb It's a re-tuned version of the same transmission. This transmission doesn't have the same problems as the others

I really like this! It’s nice to see Nissan bring some new things to the game. It’s been a while.

Speaking for everyone that has a family w/ multiple kiddos…thank you so much😂
Absolutely LOVE your family drive/reviews! Come for the car stay for the hilarious and adorable interactions. 😁

Looks like a Pathfinder again and with no CVT is a winner, great vehicle!
Former Nissan Owner of 3 Nissan...Yep not prefect cars but i had the best experiences with any problems i had..Nissan took care of me.

About time Nissan . Giving what consumers asking, room, towing, decent mpg, modern look in & out. Imo this Nissan model will sell .
It brings some much needed improvements and updates while remaining completely practical.
Also what i love is that on the Pathfinder @ Rogues, NO STUPID AUTO/STOP feature
I'll also add that Nissan and other manufactures should make LED exterior and interior lights standard. No more incandescent blinkers! Lol!
Honestly. Led lighting is pretty inexpensive. Some manufacturers sometimes do unnecessary cost cutting
I think it’s to save money but also when you’re out of warranty sure would suck to have to pay about $1000 for a whole new headlight, whenever it’s only your turn signal that went out.

Great review as always! Telluride is great, but not the ridiculous $8K markups.
Telluride ride is to firm and bumpy why does nobody point this out
Heres a tip, If you want to turn off the rear speakers the function is called a fader, all radios have one.
