1:35 is when elixirmh (gs user) snipes the rathian beak even tho he has non- ideal positioning under the left wing. That TCS is an over head swing too. Couldve lost the stagger if he missed the head 😮
I see speedrunners grapple then get off quite often and I always assumed it's for positioning, but at 1:30 you were already close. So what was the point? was it to check if the monster is still wounded?
Fun fact that's not discussed often but is seen in almost every hunt. What it does actually is extend the duration of monster being staggered. Let's say it staggers and stays in that position for 5seconds and goes back to normal. Well, if you clutch claw onto him on 4seconds in, it will give you extra 3 seconds of stagger. As you can see, it gives more time to dish out more dmg and setup for combos. I hope this helped! Cheers! TL:DR - It increases the time the monster is in stagger state, giving you more time to catch up if you're far or simply helping your teamates by giving them extra time to dps if you've nothing better to do.
@@rayzecor Yea, it just makes the duration longer, keep in mind, I'm not sure about the exact amount of seconds, I just gave an example. I'm sure there's information somewhere online
@@rayzecorit's a six second animation that resets if you clutch claw the monster before it ends. Keep in mind this only works on the specific kind of stagger that you see in the video where the monster's sent back a long way and faces its side to you. Clutching it during a regular flinch where it turns back to face you doesn't do anything
thanks so much bang for playing with me! its an honor 🙇♂️

@@dariosubara6521 Thanks, I didn't know. So does clutch clawing basically start another 3 second long animation on the monster?

Got it, I really only play solo and so I guess it's not super useful for me
