(sorry i think i have a typo on lagi's romaji and one other slide, a true gaijinhunter sign is that of typo. hopefully doesnt get in the way of just the fun memory lane vid!)
uth duna(uf tuna) is water kulve taroth... atleast the first stage of the fight you have a vail to remove, same skeleton, does the barrel roll move and other moves are very similar now imagine kulve swimming in lava just like uf tuna does :P
Small correction, (Glacial) Agnaktor does not exist in Frontier (this also means that a HC variant does not exist either). The render probably comes from Explore.
During a time when all the other Monster Hunter creators are scrambling to release their Wilds demo content out first, Gaijin just decides to pop up out of nowhere, to drop some relaxing evergreen content.
Almudron Fun Fact 2: In one of those MHR interviews, the staffs have also demonstrate using Celery to make its wet cracking SFX, and hence the monster is sometimes referred as Celery (セロリ) by some of the Japanese hunters.
I love the format. Only suggestion maybe to mention folklore inspirations more. We know every Rise newbie and Odo are inspired by Jp folklore, Sunbreak has Golem/Frankenstein's monster, werewolf, vamp and a devil, while Shara is Buddhism inspired and it'd be nice to have like a line or two about that in next vids
I originally started watching his videos with 4U because I wanted to learn the IG, ive been hooked ever since. I dont think I would be half as good with the weapons I enjoy without his help.
There are a lot of Japanese exclusive Monster Hunter books which contain lore, monster ecology, etc. I think if you have an opportunity to make a video on information in these types of Japanese only books, it would make for an awesome series. Sprinkle in your own knowledge as well. Great video!
i like the video, i feel like a quick 1-2 sentence summary of each monster would add a lot. only name, nickname and fun fact feels like its missing something. anyway, great video, looking forward to the rest of the series
I don't know how intentional it is, but Duramboros' Japanese name "Doboruberuku" could also be derived as "double Berg." Berg in this case being the German word for Mountain. So his name could also be refering to the two humps on his back. Whether intended or not, it does give his name even more depth in my opinion, which is kinda neat.
Even when you and Vaati of soulsborne take massive breaks between posts you can bet that we'll all jump onto the video just to listen to lore, biology, mechanics and such. Can't wait for it to be released along with your thoughts
I highly appreciate your videos. I'm only listening to them while walking or driving, but the background music and your calm speaking makes them so relaxing to me. Of course, having fought probably all kind of monsters of the series, this brings back so much memories of sessions with friends
Thank you for the video! I'm really enjoying it right now while I'm fishing in WoW. lol I really like your break-down explanations of the Japanese names for the monster. It's a very pretty language to hear and see.
So great to hear from you again! お帰りなさい外人ハンター!!Really loving the random trivia bits and the exploration of the Japanese names! It could be cool to briefly show some sample gear to see how they translate the monster concepts/themes into the armor! I hope you're enjoying the Wilds beta and can't wait for more Gaijinhunter content!
Bro these videos are so cool. I was introduced to monster hunter during the portable era but could only get so far myself as a kid with no guides and limited internet access. Thank you so much!
The tone of your voice, the quality of your content, the soothing backround music, the calm exposition during the entire video. Truly a real delight each time you post Mr Gaijin. I've been following you since the last 5 or 6 years and your videos never fail to captivate me and make me want to play even more. Thank you for all your content and your dedication and passion for the MH franchise !
It's funny how passionate you are about MH and how contagious it is. I've been burnt out on games for the past 2 years but I always keep an eye on MH and your videos. Now I can't wait to play Wilds and I'll make sure to watch all your vids about it! \o/
These are awesome! You taught me how to hunt with your in depth weapon guides for GU (that I watched multiple times each). Glad to see you still making content!
Such a cool concept! As a long time Monster Hunter Fan(started since Tri came out) your videos kinda accompanied and helped me a lot! I have watched your videos on/off for a while, but I am glad to see your content is as good and chill as ever! Really love the format, I learned a lot actually and can't help but really like the localisation a lot more know(as if it wasn't good already) but the names just fit in both languages imo. I love the fun facts and can't wait for the other monster types!
I loved the video! I am very curious about the biology of Monster Hunter, and knowing the japanese names and the facts about these monster gives it so much context! It makes them more than big baddies to kill, you know? Anxious for part 2!
Hey Gaijin! Long time listener, first time caller. I just wanted to thank you for teaching my how to play 4 ultimate way back in the day. Thanks to your help Monster Hunter is now one of my favorite series of all time and I'm introducing it to new people all the time! Can't wait to see what you have in store for us in the future. I truly hope you enjoy the new game whther you decide to make any content for it or not.
What an excellent watch/listen, going to be looking forward to the rest of this series! Also welcome back, it's always nice seeing videos from the person who was a big inspiration for my own series hehe
Love my brute wyverns, a shame we had no new brute wyverns introduced in rise and sunbreak, only Barroth and Anjanath... Hopefully wilds can do brute wyverns some justice.
Finally A gaijin MH video... though i like all the surfacing mhwilds gameplay videos, iam so burnt out for it from time to time.. so glad you post something like this.. it's soo soothing hearing your mh vids again.. have a grate day gaijin
This is so very cool as a nerd for mh and a nerd of anything Japanese. I can't wait to see this series unfold and the many addendums that will come with Wilds!
While trying to stay spoiler free for Wilds, I love the bestiary content! Wilds is gonna be an experience worth cherishing, so I look forward to making the best of the memories. In the mean time, I'll listen to the village bgm and monster facts all day lol.
Little fun fact, in french Brute Wyverns are called "Wyverne de Terre" that can be translated into " Earthern Wyvern " refering to the fact that they are all incapable of flying or stuck to the ground in some sort. Also, amazing video Gaijin, and i can't wait for every fun fact you can found for every monster !
I love this new topic of your channel!!!! I have played since MH Freedom on PSP but honestly I started to forget the name of new monster now since the the number is dramatically increased, and they are not so easy to remember like old gens ^^!
Great video, can't wait to hear about my favorite fanged wyverns! As for the feedback, I think it would've been nice to add a text or a logo of the first game where a monster appears (in addition to you saying it). And more general feedback - I think you're in a very interesting position, when you have a lot of exposure to the source material in Japanese, and to the MH scene in Japan. I enjoy listening when you talk about either of these things, as it's uncommon to find this kind of stuff in the English-speaking community and from other content creators. I hope you'll leverage this position more and make videos about MH in Japan.
Learning about the Japanese naming conventions for Subspecies and Variants was interesting. Unfortunately the way they are named in Japanese makes it fairly unlikely we will get subspecies names for the base species of monsters, or at least within the games. An example of these subspecies names for base species, would be giving base Lagiacrus the subspecies name of Sapphire Lagiacrus or giving base Nargacuga the subspecies name of Common Nargacuga. Personally it also adds to the world building and makes the world feel more real. Though I feel they could give the base species and non base species subspecies names in Japanese and non Japanese languages out of game. Personally it would be nice, as it offers a way to refer to base species that is less clunky then "base species BLANK" and many other benefits.
Brachy will always be my fav monster. I collected some of the 20th anniversary boxes , both volume 1 and 2 while i was in japan, but unfortunately i couldnt get neither malzeno nor brachy. Got all others though xD I love this new series of videos you are doing, keep it up gaijin 😊
(sorry i think i have a typo on lagi's romaji and one other slide, a true gaijinhunter sign is that of typo. hopefully doesnt get in the way of just the fun memory lane vid!)
uth duna(uf tuna) is water kulve taroth... atleast the first stage of the fight
you have a vail to remove, same skeleton, does the barrel roll move and other moves are very similar
now imagine kulve swimming in lava just like uf tuna does :P
I just call it Kulve Torrent.
Small correction, (Glacial) Agnaktor does not exist in Frontier (this also means that a HC variant does not exist either). The render probably comes from Explore.
The man the legend has returned! Missed your content I've been following you since the days of the ds and mh3
Thank you for coming back. You're the best MH youtuber out there. This series is awesome too! A show of why you're so amazing.
This is really good! Paradise and I really like the Fun Fact pop up! 😀
Thank you guys, means a lot!
He's back and it's brilliant!
This has such a classic Gaijin Hunter video feel to it. Looking forward to the next episodes!
And when the world needed him most, he returned. 🙌
Wilds 😉😉☺️
when the wilds needed him the most
During a time when all the other Monster Hunter creators are scrambling to release their Wilds demo content out first, Gaijin just decides to pop up out of nowhere, to drop some relaxing evergreen content.
Almudron Fun Fact 2: In one of those MHR interviews, the staffs have also demonstrate using Celery to make its wet cracking SFX, and hence the monster is sometimes referred as Celery (セロリ) by some of the Japanese hunters.
I have pronunciation joke only my IRL friends know of but I'm sharing it with you :
Ze Ahlmudhhrhronn...most fiercest monstah....There
I love the format.
Shara is inspired by Hinduism
Thanks for all the content been here since mh4u. Keep up the awesome work
I originally started watching his videos with 4U because I wanted to learn the IG, ive been hooked ever since. I dont think I would be half as good with the weapons I enjoy without his help.
2 videos this year? I'm truly blessed.P..S. notice me gaijin senpai.
There are a lot of Japanese exclusive Monster Hunter books which contain lore, monster ecology, etc. I think if you have an opportunity to make a video on information in these types of Japanese only books, it would make for an awesome series. Sprinkle in your own knowledge as well. Great video!
YAY this such an amazing treat, I could listen to you talk about monhun for hours, and I can never get enough monster info :D thanks gaijin
i like the video, i feel like a quick 1-2 sentence summary of each monster would add a lot. only name, nickname and fun fact feels like its missing something. anyway, great video, looking forward to the rest of the series

My favorite part about RPGs is completing the bestiary, so it's suffice to say I am excited to see this come out
O M G! I was absolutely not expecting this, even more so with the MH Wilds demo around!
This is great! Always kinda wanted a video series like this to reference. This is why you're my favorite MonHun channel, welcome back!
Gobul is fantastic, he fit so well in the flooded forest.
This is a fun little neat series. Always love the videos looking in depth at the monsters in the series.
Absolutely loved this video. It also makes me realize just how long I've been playing MH. It's great to see a lot of the old monsters.
The man, the myth, the legend Gaijin Hunter is back! Loved the video and glad to see you back.
This is like discovery channel monster hunter without the old British guy narration. I'm enjoying this.
Even when you and Vaati of soulsborne take massive breaks between posts you can bet that we'll all jump onto the video just to listen to lore, biology, mechanics and such. Can't wait for it to be released along with your thoughts
Thanks for posting! Always happy to see your content and hear that nostalgic voice!
I highly appreciate your videos. I'm only listening to them while walking or driving, but the background music and your calm speaking makes them so relaxing to me.
Of course, having fought probably all kind of monsters of the series, this brings back so much memories of sessions with friends
This feels like a lecture from Wycademy. I love it keep it Ghunter❤🎉
once again remimded how good the localization for the monster names and titles are we truly are blessed 🙏
All my favorite Monster Hunter channels coming to the comments to pay respect to a true OG...makes me feel happy
Good to see you again
7:05 Love Duramboros. If he reappears, his moss and plant covered back would look amazing.
Thank you for the video! I'm really enjoying it right now while I'm fishing in WoW. lol
I really like your break-down explanations of the Japanese names for the monster. It's a very pretty language to hear and see.
My favorite brute wyvern from gen4
*squints*
Dinovaldo..
Loving the premise of this video series! Looking forward to see em all ^^
I was recently looking for something like this on TH-cam and couldn't really find it. I can't wait for the other parts!!
Love this, very much looking forward to the rest of the series! Always enjoy hearing you talk about the game's history and little fun facts.
This type of video is what drags people to study and learn about the lore of MH. keep up the great work Gaijin. and remember to take breaks!
Bro has finally returned... Anticipating all the Monster Hunter Wilds videos!
Return of the King
So great to hear from you again! お帰りなさい外人ハンター!!Really loving the random trivia bits and the exploration of the Japanese names! It could be cool to briefly show some sample gear to see how they translate the monster concepts/themes into the armor!

Bro these videos are so cool. I was introduced to monster hunter during the portable era but could only get so far myself as a kid with no guides and limited internet access. Thank you so much!
I'm sooo excited for this series, especially because it's clearly something you want to do and not something you feel forced to do
The tone of your voice, the quality of your content, the soothing backround music, the calm exposition during the entire video. Truly a real delight each time you post Mr Gaijin. I've been following you since the last 5 or 6 years and your videos never fail to captivate me and make me want to play even more.

Watching a Gaijin MH monster video at the gateway of 6th Gen brings me back in my early days of being a Hunter. Thanks for the video Gaijin!!
Loved your old Monster Showcases glad this was recommended to me!
It's funny how passionate you are about MH and how contagious it is. I've been burnt out on games for the past 2 years but I always keep an eye on MH and your videos. Now I can't wait to play Wilds and I'll make sure to watch all your vids about it! \o/

The old school music ❤️ Throw me back to when I started Monster Hunter with Generation on 3DS
Little fun fact, in french Brute Wyverns are called "Wyverne de Terre" that can be translated into " Earthern Wyvern " refering to the fact that they are all incapable of flying or stuck to the ground in some sort.

Ah I missed your MH content! Glad this is back in my feed :)
I love this new topic of your channel!!!! I have played since MH Freedom on PSP but honestly I started to forget the name of new monster now since the the number is dramatically increased, and they are not so easy to remember like old gens ^^!

I really missed this kind of videos. Thanks!
As someone who just started playing monster hunter, this came out at a perfect time :)
I'm only at Brachy but I feel so nostalgic watching Gajin talk about monsters again :)
Glavenus is my favorite monster, love how he bites his tail, I used to have a biting thing too.
Learning about the Japanese naming conventions for Subspecies and Variants was interesting. Unfortunately the way they are named in Japanese makes it fairly unlikely we will get subspecies names for the base species of monsters, or at least within the games.

I am thankful that the localised names for the monsters are so awesome.
I love that this is the first notification I see as I opened my eyes!!
On the next part you should put the games that the monsters are featured in. Anyways awesome video!
MY GOAT IS CREATING AGAIN love to see it!
God I hope Agnaktor comes back in wilds
we missed you, glad to see you back!
Love this, keep it going, Mitsune and Malzeno are my favorites
I loved Steel Urugaan and his awesome Hunting Horn... I miss it to this day.
Nice to see a video from one the people who got me into monster hunter in 2018
Brachy will always be my fav monster. I collected some of the 20th anniversary boxes , both volume 1 and 2 while i was in japan, but unfortunately i couldnt get neither malzeno nor brachy. Got all others though xD
I love this new series of videos you are doing, keep it up gaijin 😊
