I would say bush flying is the highlight of this SIM. The other day I landed on a sand dune during a rainstorm thinking it wouldn’t be a big deal and I got stuck in the sand
I landed in a field in the rain and got stuck and I thought it was a bug. That’s impressive. I didn’t even realize they would include something like that
The tessellation on the ground is awesome, and even persistent to some degree, even noticed flying in career mode that the pavement saves the tire marking of where you brake, land, and turn hard. Did multiple runs at the same airport and saw my markings from earlier, same in grass and dirt
All the negativity on the release is a shame. I could get to installing until Wednesday night because of work. No problems at that time. Played on Thursday and had the same thoughts as you, very positive. So excited about this. Tha ks for another honest post.
I didn't get to start till Yesterday and I've been enjoying it. Some speed bumps but if Bush Flight is your thing...the new scenery is fantastic. Good to see the positivity.
You do realise that all the negativity was entirely because the game wasn't working for so many people? Even now, there are people who haven't even been able to start the game. At all. It's funny how all the posts decrying the negativity are all from people who have - through sheer luck - been able to get it to load and run without bugs
I’m still waiting to buy it but I’m really happy to hear some positivity. I’m a casual gamer with a mild interest in flight summing. I don’t need it to be perfect, I just want to be able to tool around in a little plane in some places I know or would like to visit.
Thank you for your much needed positivity on this, don't ever change! There are things that aren't working of course, but there are other things I've wanted and missed forever in 2020 that I'm enjoying the hell out of in this such as being able to start anywhere on the map without already being airborne, as well as the paramotor and the modern autogyro. And I love your usage of "nope ropes" and "Taco Bell"!
i agree about the lighting and filters in the sim, looks very natural and beautiful colour contrasts. once they have sorted out all the bugs, internet speed, server issues and all our 3rd party aircraft we bought in 2020 are ported over and working perfectly in 2024, then it will be a good buy. it will just take time. not sure how many 2020 aircraft (3rd party) will work in 2024 sim.
Thanks for the positive vid! Haven't had much time for MSFS2024 yet. One minor detail that really struck me was the water depth at shores. Really well done!
Yeah. I was flying around various little dirt airstrips in the desert north of Los Angeles (in the Norden, actually) and it happened that the sun set while I was doing so. The sky was beautiful, and as it darkened the lights in the various settlements started coming on as it slowly and smoothly transitioned to night.
Nice to see. I completed my first helicopter licence exam yesterday, and shut down the aircraft, but the scenario would not end. So I had to abort, and did not get my certification. Think I will just do some free flying today with this plane, and just have some fun - as you are clearly having in this video.

yep, the launch was a disaster, but less than a week later and the game is fantastic (with problems). already surpasses 2020 in most ways in my opinion. only getting better.
Absolutely stunning. Thanks for the beach trip :). Foliage and lighting have improved that much, it's pure delight now. Did a little flight over our local airport the other day and the surrounding landscape felt right and like home. Considering how popular FS2020 was and how many preordered FS2024, it's amazing that they fixed most online issues by day 3. Your old FS2020 contents are rolling in too, bunch by bunch. Can't wait what 3rd party devs will come up with the coming months, this looks awesome like anything GotFriends put out.
@ I'm so much waiting for my good old JF Arrow to be updated, my hands are itching for a new round-the-globe trip on a single-engine aircraft. Did you ever do one in the MSFS by the way? I always get stuck in Japan 😅
I love the positive take you have on this release. I'm getting tired of all the whining in different comment sections now. I too belive this will get better and have a lot of potential for amazing things going forward. I'm looking forward to trying out the //42 Campout utility, lighting up a fire and put up a tent in the bush somewhere, enjoying the sunset and moonlight. 😄
A very interesting working review of 2024, and yes the scenery and vegetation looks epic. I suppose I will have to take the plunge and install 2024 ? Although I have 2020 set up and running nicely in VR.
I realize it is not Microsoft's "thing" but I gotta say that I am somewhat disappointed in the lack of damage or crash physics. I would like the option to see the effects of hitting the gear too hard on a landing and the cost associated with the repair including labor. As well having to fill the place with fuel and oil. Don't forget those annuals. All of these costs would be a valuable tool in demonstrating the actual cost of flying for those interested. Maybe this is just not their intended market or who knows why? Maybe I am the only one... IDK just my 2cents. Maybe someday Microsoft will include/improve such things. Btw Found out about you and the channel with your appearance on Blu's channel the other day. Thanks for sharing AvAngle.
Ah, so, I specifically asked Jorg this. They will never add crash physics because A, Aircraft manufacturers request they don't, and B, its a flight sim, not a crash sim and their philosophy is that they would never want to have people clorify aircraft accidents. Now that being said, you can and are able to damage things like gear struts! you can inspect them after hard landings!
Jorg wanted to add them, Boeing and other plane manufacturers said no. now the basic systems are in place, hopefully mods will allow proper failures etc though.
Thanks so much for that! I took the Albatross to Gibraltar because of your previous vid. I really enjoyed flying it and Gibraltar is a hand crafted airport too. Now you inspired me to take this gem up for some fun!
@@AvAngel I agree I have taken it up a few times, I just flew it from Palm Springs to Newport Beach and it is an honest airplane. I was impressed with Southern California. Looks about as good as Glasgow.
I agree. It looks really nice. I just wonder about the amount of cloud reflection in the water. It seems excessive, but that's something they could easily fix if they wanted to I think. I was watching, as you were landing the first time looking into the forest, and it seemed pretty realistic to me how the light played with the shade and the trees it looked really nice.
Yes water reflections in general are something I'd still like to see them work on. Scenery reflections in water also tend to look suspect, and while it's not as bad as in 2020, there's still sometimes a noticeable halo between the terrain and its reflection
I took out the DracoX from my local airport the other day, managed to land it in my old rugby practice field (pitch if your not in the us). Very impressive performance from that monster. I’ve always been very pleased with the add ons from GOTfriends! Can’t wait to see the updates for the double ender!
Also if you've noticed, we can now take off from those rugby pitches as well! In 2020 if you tried to click somewhere on the map that wasn't an airport, it would force you to start already in the air above it instead of sitting on it. I kept begging them to change that, and now they finally did. I can take off from parking lots, sports fields, beaches, the street I live on, the horse farm I grew up on, etc. like I've always wanted.
Im happy to see videos of people enjoy the sim. Unfortunately, i couldn't even get the sim to work until friday, but now that it's working Iv'e been really enjoying it.

Great video AvAngel. I’m also finding 2024 to be improving as we go, and only 4 days old. The negative comments always occur with something new especially in any business (not just flight sim) which requires tech. System upgrades or, perish the thought, new systems always cause grief especially when people want to go back to the “old system.” 😅
Not being able to get the game to start at all (which is still the case for some people) or having it lose your gauges mid flight will also generate negativity. Did you consider that?
Hi AvAngel .. first of all awesome video as always.. secondly... your sleeping bag is in the back of the plane .. thirdly I'd like to see your opinion on the handling with and without extended slats on this plane (big switch on the stick) .. you can map that via the spoilers btw. ... I love the temporary last stage of flaps, which I have mapped to a button.. always a pleasure seeing a new video from you in my feed.. stay awesome!
That makes more sense! It said in the manual it was under the wing so was unsure! Handling wiese.... hmm, yeah I'd have to try that and see! the slats would likely have made my super slow speed stuff MUCH easier.
@@AvAngel thought so too.. the last flap stage also pushes up your nose considerably as long as you hold the button.. it's my favorite plane so far in 2024... really fun... cheers
A great display of your airmanship skills, for sure! Perhaps a test pilot in a former life? I am positive, too, about the giant strides made already by this sim. I have only been tinkering around in the 172 testing out the AP, G1000 flight programming, etc. All of which BTW are working 99.9% as expected. I have noticed, however, a remarkable improvement in the overall flight model of this ubiquitous little bird. Approaches are now wonderful, rolling sounds, air turbulence sounds, etc. are much better IMO. There is lots to look forward to, exploring all that I bought here for only $69.99 - a truly remarkable deal!
The general fluidity of the physics feels more rubbery (more real) than snappier and smushier as it was... things feel more solid. It's hopeful as heck.
I’m with you in terms of the positivity! There are certainly a lot of bugs that need squishing, but the fundamentals are solid and the flight model and ground handling are much improved. I’ve spent some hours in VR with a mid range computer and still find myself grinning constantly at the amazing scenery. It might have been a bumpy start, but the future of the sim will be fantastic!
Ohhhhhhhhhh that jungle foliage looks amazing. Now I was some right proper smuggling missions where we have to pick up some questionable crates from some abandon island and fly them clandestine, at 3am under cover of darkness to some unmarked location, hahah
My Cessna 206H does work in MSFS 2024 mostly. The avionics brightness and normal map textures that gave it the skin wrinkles and rivets seem to be having some trouble. I plan to update it with a walkaround and everything. But at the moment, I am also having some fun with the sim and just being a player instead of a dev.
I absolutely love the visual detail that has been added to this game. The shallow water detail with the pebbles on the shoreline of their streams and rivers, the retraced lighting, the way the herds of animals run away from you if you fly too close with your airplane, the diversity of trees and bushes and undergrowth in the forest that is true to the region where you are is also amazing. I was in Asia somewhere probably Malaysia looking for tigers, and I'm walking through the woods and there is vines hanging off the tree branches it was just so cool everything looks so authenticfor us low and slow flyers it doesn't get much better.
@ turn your audio up as you're walking through the woods! There's great ambient environmental sounds as well! You mentioned the water, but it's also the same if you walk on gravel or sand! There is so much minuscule attention to detail, that only us nature loving bush pilots will really get the most out of! Go chase some herds in Africa! I'm telling you, it's fun! When you go on foot near the animals you can actually hear their footsteps!
Great video, as usual. I feel positive about the new SIM also. One weird thing, daisies. Has anyone noticed the sim is lousy with daisies? My neighbor, who's very fastidious about his lawn, his yard is full of daisies.
Great video, however as a real world pilot, walk around always begins INSIDE the cockpit! MSFS got this wrong by starting outside the airplane. When I approach an aircraft which I’m about to fly, I ask, how are you going to try to kill me today?
It's such a shame the servers still don't work reliably, as the simulator looks beautiful. I love the concept of streaming data (no having to download world update that take 2 hours a piece to download because of Microsoft's slow servers) But then sit on your hard drive un-used for likely the entire time you play as you never visit that area. But at the same time, not having a cache of the last aircraft you flew, or the last scenery you visited is bizarre. Having to wait 15 minutes each time just for the gauges to appear in the 152, even though the night before you were in the exact same aircraft at the same airfield is not friendly for users. Seems to be an amazing game locked behind a terrible distribution method.
It's been 5 days and it's improved a ton, but yeah it's still not there yet. I think when we can locally download our aircraft it will take a big load off it tbf, that's a chunk of hit we can manage easily. (That's enabled with the marketplace) iirc.
I'm dealing with some aircrafts not having sound, while other's do, and a helicopter I had from 2020 does not have doors and no sound and don't know how to fix that issue.
You want good strong hard tires in the bush as there gonna take a real banging fromall those bush landings. The first thing I notice is the sound, which is good and the colours are better, infact it's all better. Can you play two sims on one pc? I'm not so sure, anyways it's all good. Wow, that's a cracking landing. I need to clean my pc and try it out, thanks for the content. Slainte ❤️ know any spacex addons? 😉 😜yep, I saw the addon from one of your videos.👍 12:07
I've been loving fs24 my real only gripe is the missiosns, i do wish we could get missions in free flight because career is a grind i just dont have time for. And the fact we still cant fly larger planes on xbox as it crashes the game still hopefully next few days it'll be fixed and working.
Have they fixed the ground handling from 2020? It seems like a mixed bag compared to 2020, but the potential is clear to see. Give it time and it'll hands down be the best.
Hi AvAngel, fun video. I didn't quite get the location you're at in this video. Somewhere in Mexico, you mentioned at the start, but could you tell me the ICAO code for the airstrip, please? Cause that beach looks absolutely stunning. Much obliged.
You said Mexico. Is it not Costa Rica? In MSFS 2020 that was one of my favorite bush strips to practice my initial attempts at that type of flying (I got to go to Costa Rica many years ago). I landed on the beach the first time because I couldn't find the actual air strip. When I took off again is when I found it!
My biggest issue is the ground terrain takes too long to generate. By the time you start landing it’s too late. Bushes rocks and every thing just pop out of nowhere. Flyby doesn’t really solve the issue either.
Oh... finally someone showing us one of the new aicrafts and not a Cessna 172! Could you also try the Stemme S12? It is a very interessant touring motor glider with his 25 meter wingspan! I have flown in that of my old flying instructor several times in RL.
@@antonioiozzi291 I'm absolutely loving the SkyRascal paramotor, Orion autogyro, Jetson One, and Hawk Arrow! Low and slow is better than ever (and better frame rates than the airliners). Also looking forward to the Saab 340 when I can afford to upgrade from Game Pass to Premium Deluxe, I've been wanting one of those forever.
Nope, well, not really? There are profiles for my honeycomb stuff, and I set my keyboard back to 2020 profile and added the walking stuff... otherwise relatively ok?
@ on 2024 at least on console, Right click and pan with a mouse goes full up, down, left, right what ever. Impossible to pan, have played with all the speeds but still like when track Ir has a fit.
The reflections of vegetation in the sea are all over the place. And the sand kicked up by prop wash is green for no apparent reason. But the flight model looks OK
I'm not sure how its calling the dust for the backblast, but it's certainly a hell of a start compared to what 2020 was capable of. That's my big thing... if this is day one, picture day 200
I support the developers because they have given so much to the community. Anyone bagging on them at the moment is forgetting that. Give it a chance and let it adjust and grow and everything will be fine. Thankyou for the positivity Av
Having ANY level of walkaround as a native sim feature is something we never even considered possible... even in 20. I'll take anything, because we're getting spoiled hard :D
Got friends dude to me the other day when i asked about bushwheels interacting with water: "We make planes, not water effects!" with some aggressive undertone... Meanwhile A2A Simulation's Piper Cub did the exact same thing i was asking for back in FSX days... Not sure why he was so stressed out / salty about it, but damn my opinion of "Got Friends" changed that day.. more like "Got Salt".
I mean.... it depends on how the sim handles water. FSX did it differently to 20, 20, the water didn't have a lot of actual behavior. I don't think he was being agressive :P Those dudes don't do agressive! I think you misread him.
thing is, it was anticipated to be one of the biggest, if not the biggest, release... they only stress tested it to 200k users... like what? where is the logic in that though? it seems way too buggy right now imo and this whole stream all the data down lark just doesn't seem feasible to me, probably a big reason why the stutters are happening
That's likely all they could get who signed up to test. However the number doesn't matter as much as you think if they throttle server reception to match the test pool... it doesn't need to be 1:1. The issue here was unanticipated gamepass numbers that pushed things beyond capacity... millions of them.

I hardly ever flew the 172 in 2020, but I think I will more now, it feels like they've put a lot of extra love into it!
Mexico looking very nice!
Dust effect very exaggerated but ... at least is there. Hope there will be more bushstrips and small challenging grass airports in MSFS2024.
Oh exciting :D And totally just be a player :D I'm just an excited fan Sal! :D
This is the first 2024 video I've watched. I know enough to avoid the first few days of nonsense. It's almost time to install it now. almost...
immersion, immersion, immersion brilliant thanks
I absolutely love the visual detail that has been added to this game. The shallow water detail with the pebbles on the shoreline of their streams and rivers, the retraced lighting, the way the herds of animals run away from you if you fly too close with your airplane, the diversity of trees and bushes and undergrowth in the forest that is true to the region where you are is also amazing. I was in Asia somewhere probably Malaysia looking for tigers, and I'm walking through the woods and there is vines hanging off the tree branches it was just so cool everything looks so authenticfor us low and slow flyers it doesn't get much better.
You can hear the water splash as you walk into it
@ turn your audio up as you're walking through the woods!
Awesome flight, who says rough around the edges ain't fun sometimes.
Great video, but station La Serena is not in México, but in Costa Rica
Darn it :D thanks for correcting me!
I just wondering have you tried the 3rd person view where you can see your character walk around?
Great video, as usual. I feel positive about the new SIM also.
One weird thing, daisies. Has anyone noticed the sim is lousy with daisies? My neighbor, who's very fastidious about his lawn, his yard is full of daisies.
lol I think it's the autogen :D
@AvAngel yeah it just hits me funny that there everywhere.
Thank you for the great video. I would like to fly there as well. How is this place called, please?
Great video, however as a real world pilot, walk around always begins INSIDE the cockpit! MSFS got this wrong by starting outside the airplane. When I approach an aircraft which I’m about to fly, I ask, how are you going to try to kill me today?
It's true, but its something we CAN choose to do... to start the walk around we first have to actually approach the aircraft!
Time of that comment had me in stiches there lol 15:42 was a moment 😂😇done that myself more than once my brains not so quick to catch it though lol
We're excited with you!👍🏻
Your sleeping bag is IN the aircraft xxx
That makes more sense!
Not sure about space stuff yet but maybe one day eh? :D
This looks like fun. I already have X-Plane 12, but I might buy this sim as well
I hate the haters. MSFS 2020 was full of bugs on release. MSFS2024 is great and will only get better.
I've been loving fs24 my real only gripe is the missiosns, i do wish we could get missions in free flight because career is a grind i just dont have time for. And the fact we still cant fly larger planes on xbox as it crashes the game still hopefully next few days it'll be fixed and working.
It's likely due to calling assets and asigning mission materials, its one of those needed things.
Have they fixed the ground handling from 2020?
It seems like a mixed bag compared to 2020, but the potential is clear to see. Give it time and it'll hands down be the best.
It seems... better? I think it is :D
Couldn’t quite hear where you said this is. Where is this little strip? 👍🏻. Good video.
airport code MRSN
Which head tracker are you using? Have you got Tobii working?
I don't use Tobii, I use the Grass Monkey SImulations Puck.
Hi AvAngel, fun video. I didn't quite get the location you're at in this video. Somewhere in Mexico, you mentioned at the start, but could you tell me the ICAO code for the airstrip, please? Cause that beach looks absolutely stunning. Much obliged.
Would like to know this too!
You know, it MAY be MMWU, which is La Pinosa Airstrip in Sanalona. I’ll have a look to check..
Nope, deffo not that one lol
You said Mexico. Is it not Costa Rica? In MSFS 2020 that was one of my favorite bush strips to practice my initial attempts at that type of flying (I got to go to Costa Rica many years ago). I landed on the beach the first time because I couldn't find the actual air strip. When I took off again is when I found it!
It is Costa Rica, i was wrong! :D
Great video, thank you!
How does the slow part of the envelope feel, with the tweaked flight model?
More predictable? I can feel it closer to the edge, but the edge snaps more realistically than 2020 did.
Her voice does it for me. I couldn't listen to her talk all day.
Could or couldn't? :D Need to work out if I should be upset by this :D
wouldn't it be cool if there was a "climbing into cockpit" animation even just from a1st pov perspective instead of that fade out/fade in effect...
I'll take even being able to DO this :D
My biggest issue is the ground terrain takes too long to generate. By the time you start landing it’s too late. Bushes rocks and every thing just pop out of nowhere. Flyby doesn’t really solve the issue either.
That might be the servers still being potatoes. It's getting a lot better too. I had no popping.
Oh... finally someone showing us one of the new aicrafts and not a Cessna 172! Could you also try the Stemme S12? It is a very interessant touring motor glider with his 25 meter wingspan! I have flown in that of my old flying instructor several times in RL.
I will be diving into gliders, I promise! And more cool planes!
@@AvAngel Thanks. I found funny that almost nobody try the new planes.
Still loving the now “old” sim, but it is Inevitable that eventually I will have to take the red pill and find how deep the 2024 rabbit hole goes!
I do too, I've even been flying it today for my DC3 Fix *shhh* Don't tell anyone :D
Did you not have any issues with controller bindings? It seems to be an insanely common issue yet no youtube reviewer seems to mention it?
Nope, well, not really? There are profiles for my honeycomb stuff, and I set my keyboard back to 2020 profile and added the walking stuff... otherwise relatively ok?
@AvAngel interesting. Great video btw
Wo ist mein Bett?❤
What’s the entry for baro and reset gyro on msfs 2024 as carnt find it. Looked for ‘baro’ and no result
How do you get the mouse to work without it spasing out ?
right click?
@ on 2024 at least on console, Right click and pan with a mouse goes full up, down, left, right what ever. Impossible to pan, have played with all the speeds but still like when track Ir has a fit.
@@firefox3187mouse on Xbox is unworkable but fine on PC.
Bite me! Exactly! xD
I must admit, I'm disappointed. No ticks in the foliage of the jungle? ;-) ... Keep up your good work, thx.
haha
The reflections of vegetation in the sea are all over the place. And the sand kicked up by prop wash is green for no apparent reason. But the flight model looks OK
I'm not sure how its calling the dust for the backblast, but it's certainly a hell of a start compared to what 2020 was capable of. That's my big thing... if this is day one, picture day 200
@@AvAngel I'm going to follow the improvement with interest. The obvious question will be if it is worth the entire new cost given that I have 2020.
As am I, i think it's showing more promise than 20 already, but will see!
How to find this place? What is airport code?
airport code MRSN
in Costa Rica
are you playing on vr mode?
No, head tracking
@@AvAngel oh very nice. is it a seperate system, and if so, what system and please price? i may want to get it! btw i love your vids
It's under $100, really easy to set up and (pc based) uses opentrack.
@@AvAngel what is the name of the product please? it would be awesome to have!
I support the developers because they have given so much to the community. Anyone bagging on them at the moment is forgetting that. Give it a chance and let it adjust and grow and everything will be fine. Thankyou for the positivity Av
@1:00 Very important to do... Check the oil. Much more important than everything else, but not implemented.
Having ANY level of walkaround as a native sim feature is something we never even considered possible... even in 20. I'll take anything, because we're getting spoiled hard :D
That is on the plane developer not the sim, on the default 172 you can check the oil.
The sunlight still looks cartoony. Games from 15 years ago already had these graphics. Where is the contrast?
I think it looks far more real than 20 did, but yeah it could take a bit more contrast.
my pc cant do it im looking for a xbox just to play it
Got friends dude to me the other day when i asked about bushwheels interacting with water: "We make planes, not water effects!" with some aggressive undertone...
I think you misread him.
sleeping setup is a sleeping bag in the back of the plane
thing is, it was anticipated to be one of the biggest, if not the biggest, release... they only stress tested it to 200k users... like what? where is the logic in that though? it seems way too buggy right now imo and this whole stream all the data down lark just doesn't seem feasible to me, probably a big reason why the stutters are happening
That's likely all they could get who signed up to test. However the number doesn't matter as much as you think if they throttle server reception to match the test pool... it doesn't need to be 1:1. The issue here was unanticipated gamepass numbers that pushed things beyond capacity... millions of them.
