And Rebecca was still the villain at this point. Rupert was abusive an took her power away. Ted gave her that power back, and she used it to apologize for trying to sink the team.
I think the reason he said BBQ sauce during the dart scene was that he felt the unresolved emotion about his father passing and it shook him but saying bbq sauce is like a mental reset for him.
I think you are right because in that first BBQ sauce he asks Rebecca if she has any foods that instantly transports her back home (implying that the BBQ sauce does that for him)
The fact the Rupert said to put Obisanya on defence in season 1 and in season 3, he is the offensive that wins the winning goal is an amazing touch. Just noticed that!
The thing that annoys me about the Darts scene (as almost perfect as it is) is that Ted says that people are too judgement and not curious enough to ask if he plays Darts. But just before that monologue Rupert literally asks him if he likes Darts - and Ted isn't honest and plays right handed pretending he is shit at darts.
Rupert asked him "do you like darts" which is a very different question to "do you have experience with darts," and Rupert had spent the time leading up to the game being incredibly rude to Rebecca without stopping to really think about Ted's existence.
Here's a thought. Beard called that mushroom tea batch a dud, but it might have just been too weak for him because he's built up a strong tolerance to psychedelics. Since Ted likely had no such tolerance (I'm willing to bet the only drugs he's had experience with were weed and beer) the tea might have been just right for him to get the inspiration for Total Football.
NO NO NO!!!!! I can personally tell you that anyone who lives in Kansas City can tell you that Arthur Bryant's has fallen off. My personal favorite is Joe's. Please try Joe's BBQ sauce from Kansas City. Please go to Joe's barbecue if you come to Kansas City. Arthur Bryant's is for boomers who want the name only
I think that’s why it’s Ted’s favorite, like he said the flavor takes him home, which is probably the taste of his childhood (when arthur bryant’s was still the best sauce)

The darts scene makes my heart bigger every time I see it. For Ted and Rebecca and the rest of the room. Not a mean takedown but a solid one.
Hits even harder when later it's revealed how his father passed away.
With the most feel good wholesome music accompaniment ever!
I shortened his speech a little and it blew a coworker's mind. Just tried to help her through the shift. I just watched the episode a week before

I thought he was referencing Bullseye brand barbecue sauce.
I think you are right because in that first BBQ sauce he asks Rebecca if she has any foods that instantly transports her back home (implying that the BBQ sauce does that for him)
I think it's also referencing the iconic shaq quote "barbecue chicken"

there’s also that scene in 3x11 when ted texts his mother that his wifi password is BBQs@auce !
Watched and came to make that same comment . . . 👍
The darts scene is one of the best pieces of writing in all of television, along with a fantastic performance.
Ted saying "BBQ Sauce" right before the kick made me stand up and cheer like it was an actual sporting event
The great thing about the darts scene is Rupert knew he lost after the first triple 20
Definitely.
And also... "Bullseye" is one of the most famous Barbecue sauces in America.
Ted: "Barbecue Sauce" = "Bullseye" = Perfect shot
The look in Rebecca’s eyes when she realizes that she has seriously underestimated Ted is priceless.
When he had the triangle offense epiphany. Awesome stuff
I have watched and rewatched this series a few times. It is always great. And the dart scene is everything you want in a well told story.
"You are a very lovely consolation prize."
What an insult! But to be expected from Rupert.
that dart scene changed my perspective on life. it may be simple but man that message at the end, be curious, not judgmental
One of my favorite scenes! Barbecue sauce 😊
I’ve tried it at a friend’s house and said it’s Ted Lasso’s favourite and she said who ? 😂😂 it’s very sweet and I liked it too
In that darts scene, Rebecca knew Rupert was cooked right after Ted said “I forgot I’m left handed”
I send my my friends Ted Lasso clips when i know they're down.
ok talk to me geese got me dying and cackleing!!!
5:02 lol the rip off on Top Gun
Talk to me Geese 😂
Chills every single time!
Every time i need a strike in bowling on league night I line up, take a breath and say "bbq sauce" its so satisfying

@@MathasiaJ Rupert still asks.
I like darts. But I don't play a lot of it. So Ted only answers the question he is asked.
Talk to me geese. 🤣🤣🤣
All the waitstaff at the American Style diner are Aussies. Made me laugh.

Imma say it... Gates. KC people know.

You can tell how ignorant he is when you see that dart score board and it's goes 1 something and then 10 he was setup so hard
190 to 10, which means Rupert hit three triple 60s (180) in the previous round, which is the most you can score in one round.
Is it just me or is it that ted-lasso unable to read?
Rupert was a terrible human being and deserved everything he gor.
