I wanted to add this in the pinned just to be double clear; theorycrafters are not a problem or an enemy to the Genshin community; this video is specifically targeted at a small portion of the TC community that tends to "doompost" or over-exaggerate/understate characters power levels and create echo chambers. I would argue that a majority of people involved in the TC community are realistic with their expectations and reasoning; it's just that this idea of "Raiden is bad without constellations" has spread pretty far and I wanted to sort of clear things up ♥️

Yae miko too but mostly for story reasons lol she's funny in the story quests. Ridden however would let me fix some team issues and I don't even have some of the newer characters with ridiculous burst costs.
She'd work nicely with keqing I think as well. But insert her with Mona and diluc and I don't exactly need a battery anymore or need to worry about recharge as much. Or with razor rosaria and chongyun. Or as a Xiao battery. Plus Xiao Mona diluc and raiden seems like it could be a decent team. Mona can trap the trash. Diluc or Xiao could pop the bubble.
Wait also one question. Do you know who has the faster attack speed?
Cause while it's kinda niche you could turn raiden into a on field reaction dps with the right off field support. Xingqui being one good example or xiangling but for her attack speed doesn't matter as much.
If you can come up with a reliable way to increase her attack speed. Plus deal decent dmg still and throw xingqui on top she might work for making that pretty spammy.

thanks for making this video. I am telling people from time to time we dont really need C2 Raiden for meta reason. Like I have cleared full star abyss for past 3-4 resets in 1-2 days. Why my Raiden National need more damage when the team is already strong and make abyss easier to clear.
Also if anyone care about theory crafting, please check keqingmains website instead since they were made by multiple tc and explain clearly, like Pro & Cons of each comps instead just said one is inferior to another.

Venti: Invalidates small/medium enemies.
Zhongli: Invalidates Non corrosion dmg.
Raiden: Invalidates burst costs.
Basically get an archon if you wanna delete a game mechanic.

@@jonathangomez8043 my Raiden's talent lvl 8 and she is not generating enough if I don't have ER sands on the character in question. Eula, Xingqiu without sac sword both have to wait to trigger their ults.
@@ryzhik9608 sounds like your Raiden doesn't have enough energy recharge. I use ER sands on her, plus a bunch on the other artifacts. Also use a weapon like the catch or Favonius Lance. You should have no issues then
raiden's burst energy generation is certainly underrated
also her skill buffing party bursts and generating decent energy
The fact that raiden gets her burst up as constantly as my zhongli is amazing since zhongli uses 40 energy but raiden uses 90
@@QuirrelSquad i mean yea, bc not only raiden is a unit that must have a lot of ER (well you will have it eventually, from ER sands, the catch, engulfing lightning, ascending, a lot of stuff will just force your raiden to have a high ER), but also her kit is based on generating a lot of energy so thats why
@@NFYT yeah except my zhongli also built with level 70 r3 favonius with like 160% energy recharge and a crit rate circlet so you would expect him to get his burst up faster than raiden without a electro support for her
@@QuirrelSquad not really cause raiden will have almost double that ER anyways while she outproduces zhonglis particles even when he has lance. So just on raw formula she already should get her Q back easier than him anyways.

Raiden stays on field and collects her own particles, meaning she gets even more energy from each particle than him cause hes usually off field.
But wait theres more
This isnt even counting raidens Q costing on average 25 less just from her own passive on genning energy while whacking.
So raiden is generating like twice the energy particles while getting about 50% more value per particle just from being on field while getting about twice the energy per particle from her ER stat being that much higher while she practically has to just fund a 65 cost Q vs zhonglis 40 because her whack whack cheapening it.
So she needs less than double the energy and in practice gets over 4× the energy being dumped into her.
Raiden doesnt just get better energy..she gets better energy in every single concievable way than zhongli while his only advantage there is half the cost. But having half the cost while gaining 1/4th the energy is still advantage raiden.
Mathematically theres no reason your raiden *shouldnt* be getting her stuff back faster than zhong.
Edit: forgot to mention all of raidens particles are on element while most of fav zhongs are neutral element too.

My Rational team with Raiden at C0 has carried me like a newborn baby through these new abyss. Would love her C2 but not with my budget, unless I get some Dish level luck pulling for her again lol

it's weird i never get lucky on pulls... always go to pitty or even hard pitty but when Raiden came i got super lucky and got c3, keqing, diluc and c6 sara in 150 pulls it was insane
in contrast i did around the same pulls to get c0 shenhe and no yinjin

People tend to forget one important aspect of the game: Teambuilding.
Raiden National is one of the most used teams in Abyss, she makes Xiangling's and Xingqiu's bursts be up all the time.
There's the thing, with the National (Bennett, XL, Xingqiu, Surcrose/Kazuha) you are already getting so many pyro particles that Xiangling can run lowish ER and if you have C6 Xingqiu or Sac sword you don't have to worry about his burst (Bennett can just run base ER at 80/90 and he's fine) the only real person who has energy issues is sucrose
Here's the thing... you can split Xingqiu from Xiangling + Bennett and create more teams that might not be easier to play, but will do more damage the more skilled you are at the game. Rational is a super easy to play comp with lots of room for error and can easily pass 36 star abyss, but so can a lot of other national comps and other teams that don't take up this many S tier supports. For Rational to even be an option you need something like Ayaka freeze on the other half or (insert other non-bennett/XL/XQ reliant comp).
Don't get me wrong, I think Rational is good, but not because of teambuilding. It limits a lot of options for your other side of Abyss, so it's not as good as it's hyped to be for newer players with a smaller pool of supports.
Here's some stuff from KQM about Raiden teams, so have a look for yourself. I can't really explain everything in there, but one thing that surprises me is that Lisa w/ TTDS is better dpr than Sara in a low investment (Non-C2 Raiden, non C6 Sara) Raiden Hyper team. Please don't take my thoughts as representative of KQM.

What makes national team op is the reaction dmg (vap) all the time using xingqiu burst, the main party member are xiangling bennette and xingqiu, while the 4th slot u could fit in anyone fit well with the team(etc raiden) cause electro and water element could co-exist at the same time dealing all kind of reaction and dmg. Secondly xiangling and raiden ultimate sync well with bennette buff. Thats why its op.

C0 Raiden is great, it's just that C2/3 Raiden with EL is broken. That doesn't devalue her at C0 tho. I don't get why there's so much confusion.
Exactly I agree especially since every Inazuma character burst cost is insane. I am fine with C0 for her and Kokomi. I am going for Engulfing Lightning this time around. I am at 60 pity right now on weapon banner. I am tempted by the Jade cutter though before that. I already have Raiden and Kokomi so I am not gonna spend the extra money for not being guaranteed C2 at all especially since Ayato is after that and I want him badly.

Because it's Genshin community. Everyone's here is just delusional when it comes to characters. Just look how they treat Kokomi. They either snort those Kokopium or absolutely hate her. Kokomi always have been a good unit but people didn't how to use since she's way too experimental and different but she's also isn't that great unless you build a team around her and of course, until Ocean Hued come. She was an ok 5* like Keqing. People were saying that you don't need her if you have Qiqi. Same applies to this vid. Delusional fans who don't know what they're saying but they're mad.

True because i use raiden in national not hypercarry so i doesn't even need c2
Alot of people tend to forget how her Skill literally gives a Fucking 2p noblesse buff that can even get higher depending on the char's burst cost. And her skill's hit dmg which should do 4k atleast if she's built and sure it doesn't seem much but over time it adds up to alot. It can even out-damage Xingqui's E and that's Huge considering how it has such a high duration with 0 downtime.
The most frustrating thing to see in the community is people immediately writing off a character just because their damage doesn't go unga bunga 1 million within the first 3 seconds after a rotation. They see the clickbait damage numbers and believe in that kind of potential, but will also easily believe the same kind of people calling the characters trash the first fucking hour they are released.

I remember raiden being compared with fischl and alot of people think fiscl c6 is just better to choose just bcs oz outdamage raiden E skill lol.

her skill is the only one I know that can react to any kind of damage dealt. This makes her E work pretty well with klee burst and it somehow makes klee's burst become very great for chasing and staggering enemies.

@@rifat2448 I have honestly used fischl c6 national which seems better than raiden c0 national at single target dps for first half of floor 12 or it could be different artifacts being the reason? but they both clear with 36 stars. It is a bit similar to my opinion of childe being weaker than xingqiu at single target dps but even better at 2 targets and above. The most decisive reason for fischl national being better for me is the technique of xiangling pyronado vaping leaving a bit of hydro left immediately followed by bennett E vaping completely getting rid of the hydro who generates pyro particles funneled to xiangling together with fischl electro particles so 4 characters including main dps bennett doing dps instead of 3 in raiden national where bennett is just mostly support but this requires skill and not convenient. Also elemental burst attacks are not normal attack so cannot trigger floor 12 leyline disorder for resistance shred and if it does gets triggered, VV set usefulness will became halved when resistance below zero. This requires more testing when abyss floor 12 changes.
I have a C0 R1EG Raiden and I almost always run the Rational team. The greatest thing about Raiden is how effortless and smooth your rotations become. All that battery and poise just makes it feel absolutely wonderful while shredding through abyss floors
R1 Engulfing vs The Catch is almost the damage increase of a c2 Raiden.

@@Ser-- maybe r1 engulfing vs r1 catch. R5 catch is actually relatively similar, albeit a bit lower.
*However* catch scales better with bennett and sara because engulfing does primarily atk, which they overinflate anyways while catch focuses 2 separate multipliers that scale better off of the attack benny and sara provide. Closing that gap even further after actually factoring teams usually.
Since yknow. Pretty much every good raiden team uses bennett since she scaled harder than any other unit off of his buff.
Baal is actually one of the most f2p friendly units when you take in count that the catch is free to everyone anytime

@@Ben-vg6ox Favonius Lance but also Prototype Starglitter. The damage is way lower, and the energy regeneration also but the fact that she has two complete F2P options is amazing. Much like Ganyu, who also has two F2P options.

This video hit the nail on the head spot on. No matter where I go, be it on youtube, or reddit, or with my casual genshin playing friends who got influenced by the youtube echo chamber, EVERYONE was lambasting me about my C0 Raiden with the Catch. Here are some FACTS:
Previously, I was running a TRIPLE CROWNED DILUC with a WOLF'S GREATSTONE on my free to play account (yea I got lucky). And I was clearing abyss probably like 32-34 stars each rotation. I pulled for Raiden on day 1, got the catch on her within a week of fishing (and jumping into other worlds for fish), and got my FIRST THIRTY SIX STAR ON THAT ACCOUNT. She literally helped me beat the abyss.... and she was definitely doing more damage than my diluc... even at c0 with a catch.
And people keep saying she's bad.................... for the love of god, at WORST she's mediocre, and at BEST shes a MONSTER. C2-C3 Raiden is seriously overkill for the abyss imo. I have been consistenly 36 starring the abyss ever since i got her too >_____>

Want to play xq + bennet + xiangling? Pull Raiden and play Raiden national. Want to buff your cryo/pyro/hydro/electro damage dealers? Pull Kazuha.
@@Drave_Jr. raiden is a future proof character imo so if u get her u won't regret it but kazuha is also pretty much future proof so if u have xiangling or xinqiu to spare u can get her
@@Drave_Jr. it depends, both are amazing units. generally kazuha is better, but sucrose does just as good as him and is also 4*. so if you have an invested bennett, xq, xl, or jean, id get her. but if you want to buff your ganyu or ayaka i'd get kazuha.

As someone who have C2 Raiden. I would say it’s not necessary but once you have it she goes from good enough to totally broken.
Can you tell more about the power different? Like how much damage increase? I would aim c2 raiden in cost of i need to save full from rerun to another rerun
@@rifat2448 She ignores 60% of the opponent’s def during her Q, and instantly becomes a hypercarry with C2. Definitely worth and one of the most broken constellations in the game.
@@84Darkman ight thanks for the explanation man. It's just I use genshin calculator to optimize my future ei and i cant add the constellation 2 effect with my dmg calc. So the only way to know just asking people with c2 raiden lmao
@@rifat2448 As the video said, its more of a 50% increase in damage. My advise would be if you want to use her as a support then no need for C2. But if you use Raiden National and want to use her as main DPS then C2 will be totally worth it. I just loved this character and went all out on her banner. Will be going for C3 this time.

agreed. no single character is supposed to 36* abyss alone. of course it is possible but for f2ps especially, the abyss is all about teambuilding.
People forget the 7 seconds burst mode she's in which, with proper basic atk combo, she does more than her initial hit.
They need to stop looking at dmg per screenshot and actually read what the character does.
Not only more. Her initial slash is only about 1/3rd of the total damage she puts out during her burst window. People truly see only the one big number.

Ha! Raiden is an excellent character at C0.
She's a force multipler for your whole team. The stormy eye does extra damage, can proc elemental reactions, and boosts bursts for other characters. They in turn charge her stacks and make her burst stronger. It's superb synergy!
Realistically only the extra burst damage is nice but the reaction proc can ruins teams so that's a demerit unless they buff Electro resonance to be useful. It's only good with Eula since the synergy is perfect there as you stated, but otherwise her best team is Rational which isn't saying much as that team requires 3 of the best support 4* in the game so even if you replace Raiden with Kazuha it will still do a shitton of damage

Raiden provides a lot of comfort with rotations and also does a fair amount of dpr, while also buffing teammates Q with her E and she's easy to play, furthermore, she doesn't steal reactions since electrocharged keeps both elements on the enemies, so Xiangling can do both overload and vaporize consistently

if you can't see that, you're a player who's reliant on one tap dmg per screenshot on burst

@@dummy9956 I am building my supports but if I use all of them for Raiden then my second team can't clear the other half, also stop talking like an asshole I'm a newer player so I don't care about your ego. Overload also knocks enemies away from you, yes Raiden in her ult can hit them due to her huge hitboxes but that's not so true about the rest of the team. I also don't have Sara. And please link me C0 Raiden destroying F11/12 under a minute, I would love to learn from that since those floors are an issue for me

C0 hu tao with r1 dragons bane does more dmg just using her skill.
By "not the best" i mean that her dps is below top tier dps character. Her damage at C0 as a support character is one of the best though

@@kuldeepdeshmukh837 she does good damage+is a good support like the video says, idk why you're comparing raiden to a main dps, she's just an on field support and people cant wrap their heads around that, same way in early game we though diluc was the top dps, when xiangling was hidden as the best dps, since people didnt understand off field dps, they just wanted to play a main dps with low level supports, it was the meta early game, even though it was wrong

Thanks for the video, Brax. I've actually seen an argument AGAINST C2 Raiden for overworld content at least. The rationale is that C2 would kill the enemy so fast that we can't get the full ER value from her burst.
We can already see this with a C0 Raiden too. Compare the energy regained when she gets to use her burst for its full duration to the times when she ends the fight mid-burst.
Of course if the only thing you want is ending a fight quickly, then C2 Raiden may be a worthy investment.
Yes this is thing on c2 on overworld thing melt so fast that you dont use all attack time.
But in abyss sword form especially stop look so weak as a plus.
I second this, Raiden with C2 or even C3 is not very much viable for overworld. I have C3 and sometimes I struggle pretty hard to get energy back even in floor 12 of the abyss tho I am not running rational but rather hypercarry which might partly be the problem in my case.
That being said since I started running 150% ER on kazuha and over 200% on both Benny and Sara there is no problem and the DMG is still as insane as ever.
Can confirm, my c0 raiden does 100-120k on burst so she always runs out of energy in overworld.
Edit: i run bennet, zhongli, and yoimiya on overworld team which coincidentally all buff her which is why she hits that much
imo, c2 raiden is also worth pulling if you wanna play hypercarry raiden. while you can play c0 raiden as a hypercarry if you really want to, c2 just makes hypercarry raiden a lot better compared to c0
Good to see objective reviews like this. The Genshin community is swamped with content creators and reviewers either hyping a character or bashing them. It especially got worst during Kokomi's release.

I can already see raiden being a powerful unit only by knowing she gets to have strong uninterruptable dps uptime while also supporting the team. It was so weird hearing people say she sucks back in 2.1
mainly because 1. c2 raiden broken (which people turned into c0 raiden = bad) and 2. raiden burst form cannot trigger beidou burst. both of those statements are still true, but i agree, people blew it way out of proportion. especially the second one, people were acting as if raiden was straight up unplayable because she couldnt trigger beidous burst lol.
personally i do think its a stupid limitation, especially since raiden can trigger xq rainswords for some reason, but imo its seriously not as big a deal as people made it out to be
@@curryfishheadenjoyer The reason is because for XQ's q you just have to normal attack and for Beidou's q you have to deal normal attack damage and since Raiden's sword slashes are considered burst damage, it doesn' trigger Beiduo's q. It's still dumb tho. They could have easily worked around that, but for some reason they jut chose not to.

@@curryfishheadenjoyer She is normal attacking, but the damage that her normal attacks do when in q counts as burst damage. They explicitly made it this way. Back in beta she used to do normal attack damage and Beidou was working with her. Due to beta tester feedback they changed it to burst damage, because she supposedly was too weak. Idk why they didn't simply increase her multipliers then, but i guess that's how it is now.

My Raiden is kinda considered F2p, with the Catch R5 90 lvl 8 talents, C0 and emblem set with all Atk main stats Er at like 245 or barely 110 Crit damage and she's casually after using Bennett and everyones ults deals over 100k and is fast as hell at killing things. Also I love using her because she gets everyone's ULTS ready again for another but rarely get the chance lol. Not to mention doing damage off field with her strong E.

She's fine, she was a centerpiece in my Yoimiya overload team before Yunjin came.
The thing is Raiden C0, for the most part is a pretty okay dps chracter but since her stats are competing with one another (Crit vs ER) her damage isn't as optimal as a main DPS character.
This is coming from someone who has a Level 90, skills and burst level 9 and an Engulfing Lightning Raiden.
@@sejama6625 True she but the fact that she can do Great damage and be fast as hell and get your teams ult back up for spiral abyss is useful for a f2p account, but a course she's not doing in general more damage or dps than my hutao even without the Homa but she does more dps than ganyu in terms of speed clearing for the abyss. I'm sure ayaka and itto are Dps Beast given their right teams C0 Raiden is just supporting. Also Electro is kinda not really usual in open world unless your in inuzuma to get around Pyro and cryo and geo are just better right now hopefully yae milo can spice things up for electro not just 1 amazing electro unit being Raiden.
My c0 f2p Raiden has crowned Q with Bennet holding 5 star sword, ER 260% crit dmg 130% crit rate 59% r5 catch, never crossed 98k dmg mark. Where as my hu tao has 47% crit rate 170% dmg level 9 talents does 150k on burst regular and with Bennet it is 265k. And she doesn't even need Bennet c5, xiangling c4 and xingqiu c2 to do dmg. C0 xingqiu is enough for her.
ive been a raiden main since the first day she came out and i have no regrets shes absoluetly amazing and carried me through so much in the game(i think i even hit 83k with her once unless it was my hu tao but im pretty sure it was raiden(shes c0)

283k is also possible in overworld. I think that when I crown benny and get his c5 and Mona, I can reach 300k.

Raiden is my favorite character and I’m thinking of going for the c2. I have her at c0 and I’m so happy I got her. She’s a great support and can also do good damage. However ayato is also coming and I might pull for him instead, depending on what he’s like :)
I got her to c2 trying to get guarsntee for next banner but i won 50/50 twice. Now i have no guarantee for yae

People who are saying I pulled Raiden for damage dealing are the same people saying Zhongli isn't a good damage dealer. These are support units meant to buff your hyper carries or off-field carries. People always tend to forget that Archons are the most universal supports and that there are other DPS units in the game

Just think about it, you don't need to know optimal combos be ause simply left-clicking with Raiden isn't far from her actual optimal combo. For units like Hu Tao N2CJ or N2CD is a 30% dmg increase over N1C
There is no VV timing or double swirling because there is no anemo unit
There is no energy funnelling because Raiden does Raiden
You only need to snapshot Bennet buff onto Xiangling Q, that's it.

as a F2P C0 Raiden with The Catch I can tell you that its enough to have her at that state, I even tuned down her crit dmn/rate because she casually one shotted most of our daily mobs in first ult slash, so no energy regen if ur enemy is dead. Yeah I use her for support but DPS wise C0 with the catch with good enough artifact make her quite punchy on first slash.
Tho if u want her to be busted don't go to C2, go all the way to C3 with her sig weapons
I don't think Fischl actually comes anywhere close to Raiden's energy generation. Raiden's E alone already equals Fischl's energy generation. The initial misconception about Raiden's energy generation stems from the fact that you can't funnel the energy from her burst. There used to be demos on youtube demonstrating how "bad" Raiden's batterying is by showing a character's final energy while neglecting the fact that she actually just batteried all 4 members.
Yup, they generate the same amount of electro particles but Raiden has the burst on top of that.
I feel like c6 fischl still makes more energy. One thing to remember is Raiden can't damage abyss shields well but oz does way more to abyss shields. I also think oz has much higher multipliers so for pure non reaction damage oz has a higher ceiling and more cases of damage. Raiden's ease of use is unparalleled though.
@@Richinnameonly Iirc damage comes into play when it comes to abyss shields. I know my Raiden often one-shots abyss shields in the overworld. I also use her burst to brute force down shields in spiral abyss. Just be sure to avoid electro mages lol
I think fischl c6 national is also good similar to raiden c0 national because you can use bennett as a main dps so there are 4 characters doing dps instead of 3 in raiden national as her main dps makes main dps bennett difficult. As a side note, after xiangling vap leaving a bit of hydro, immediately vape with bennett E so more pyro particles and dmg. Fischl national somehow beats my hu tao c1 team and raiden c0 national team using 12-1-1 PPM for testing though they all use 4 star weapons, artifacts being different and floor 12 resistance shred is not proc by hu tao charge or raiden burst dmg which might of skewed the results.
@@philkersonchong9848 I prefer Raiden over Bennett carry because Raiden has way, way higher dmg% than Bennett, so she can take that flat damage further than most characters.
There's also a major factor that you should consider when doing these team comparisons. When you slot Raiden in, do you exchange your team's ER for atk, or do you just use them as is? If you use Raiden national but use the same artifacts and weapons as other national variants, then you're over-batterying your teams and wasting potential dps.

Raiden is a FUN character who does good enough damage to solo carry, even at C0 with OK artifacts. You just gotta upgrade all her talents

With the new addition to dendro, I think that electro sub-dps/dps/hypercarries are going to become a lot stronger if you can pull off the dendro reactions, especially with nahida coming soon
I feel it’s unfair to compare her to hu tao and ganyu like they are top cryo and pyro dps melt and vaporize are gonna outdamage regardless. I think raiden gives amazing consistent high dps.
I have an extreme liking for off-field supports.
Xingqiu, Xiangling, Albedo, Raiden are probably the best characters out there.
I myself use Albedo and Xingqiu regularly - Albedo's E procs after the enemy takes damage, while Xiangling's both E and Q do tick damage, Raiden E procs at contact, Xingqiu also ticks with time.
Man, they're way too underrrated.
Man if only Albedo wasn't Geo.
Albedo's place in meta is as a flex sub dps when u don't have anything better and as a battery and sub dps for Mono Geo teams

@@Ben-vg6ox I disagree, because Itto and Ningguang exists. Also, Consistent Crystallize reaction is something you're always benefitted with when you play Geo - which covers you a lot of the time.
Every element in the game is completely situational in nature, and the strength of the element is only utillized by a character with a kit which can utliize. Anemo would not have been termed as great as it is if there wasn't Sucrose or Kazuha. Hydro wouldn't have been known more unless you had Xingqiu and Childe as their enabler.

C0 raiden is still one of the greatesf characters even now. I use her as a battery, i don't have the weapon either, i use the skyward spine and she still manages to do d'amare and recharge. My stats are 46% c.rate (ik it's pretty low) 161% c.dmg and 296% ER . Keep in mind alone she will not deal much dmg, mine does around 80k with skill and 14k with slashes buut if you buff her with either dendro or bennet it double the dmg. To me she is still a must pull don't miss her now that she is coming in 2 weeks
Yeah, Raiden is sooo easy to slot in as a 4rth character. I currently have her in two teams including a mono geo team since Noelle doesn't have good enough artifacts for Perma ult and she feels soooo good to use
I do like how the big power levels are locked behind early constellations. It gives a long term goal to aim for and invest into a unit you really like. One problem I find with getting many units is the artifact grinding to make them strong. It actually is not the levelling and talents but the artifacts. Not only is it so rng to get the god rolls, it is also a pain to swap out artifacts to other units if you have to share artifacts. By choosing certain units to go into their constellations, you can get a power spike, continue to use your favourite unit, and save your sanity on artifacts.
Now, time for me to save for a year to get my Ganyu to C6... right after I pull for Yae.
constellation are always a waste of resources for FtP/low spenders.
It baffles me that some people still seem unaware that they can only ever suck comparatively to new characters, and even new weapons (only some of them though, and never refinements which are the crappiest value anyone could ever imagine...).
They certainly are not worth money.
And remember: if you are missing 6 stars on the abyss, it's 200 primos a month, 2400 a years. that's 15 pulls a years. So if you pull for constellations and did not get one on your first 15 pulls, you have wasted resources, even if this constellation got you your 36 stars clears every 2 weeks and you play religiously for an entire year...

Tbh you just need to build raiden with the right stats and she can do pretty good damage even at C0. Mine does 200k+ open world with a DPScreenshot team. And around 140-150k with abyss team.
The most underrated thing about Raiden isn't something that will show up on a spreadsheet. It's how fluid and smooth her attacks are. She has a little dash toward targets to keep you swinging and hitting, attacks fast, and doesn't have any long delay between starting her attack chain over. She just feels really good to play at any constellation level. Same with Kokomi, just feels really smooth to play, which isn't something you can measure in a screenshot or a number.
great breakdown. adding raiden to my teams was a huge boost, solving many energy problems and enabling me to build artifact sets with more direct damage capabilities. being a low spender here, the only 5* I intentionally tried to constellation was hu tao, because her c1 is just so good. everyone else who has constellations (c3 jean, c1 qiqi) were incidental. I'm 100% happy with raiden at c0; granted, I do not make banner decisions based on theorycrafting but whether or not I like the character/their voice actor/how they play/their story etc. I wasn't gonna pull raiden at all until I finished the Inazuma archon quest and did her story quest.
The thing is that I would really love to have, at the end of the game, all the archons. Maybe I will not be able to pick them on their first banner but I will try whatsoever. So I will try to win the 5050 on her rerun and if I fail I will save for Beizou (you now, first dendro character, it would be cool no?) And then, after that, i will save only for her second rerun. Of course if the fourth archon will appear before her it wouldn't be a problem.
I have Raiden at C0, I’m not pulling for any cons in her upcoming rerun either since it’s not in my budget atm. But I can confirm that at C0 she is a great battery and stands well as a superconduct/overloaded off-field reaction creator. Raiden is such an amazing character that really does battery herself. It really is wack that people say she needs cons to make her good. It shows that they haven’t tried to use her at all

I guess i never really thought about that. Liyue's element is GEO and emphasis on shielding against units local to LIyue is important. And that Inazuma is electro and emphasis on energy recharge against units local it Inazuma is important. Makes me wonder what Pyro and cryo are gonna be like. Emphasis on dealing alot of damage for pyro = super high hp enemies? Cryo's theme is crit so high crit against their enemies... oh boy
I'm full f2p and my raiden is great. Not saying there isn't higher DPs stuff around, but, out of the 8 I pulled, it's one of my most used 5stars. Way more used than ganyu.

Zhongli/Xiao this patch with her, yae miko/raiden is coming in next patch, there are also rumours about ayato and kazuha/ayaka reruns in 2.6, we don't know about yae miko and ayato but out of these existing characters xiao and ganyu is the least versetile. I mean most of ganyu's damage comes from her incredible charge attack, but that means she has to take the field for doing good damage her burst is good for damage but inconsistent, she works well with childe because of his long cooldown. Raiden can do decent damage and charges her teams energy off field. Ayaka has easy access to cyro as ganyu because of her alternative sprint, quick charging elemental skill and her OP burst she works better as a support because most of her damage comes from her burst and she can also be a insane DPS no need to talk about zhongli/kazuha are universal supports, and can provide things only exclusive to there kit. I'm not saying ganyu is a bad character I'm just saying zhongli, kazuha, raiden, and ayaka have more option for teams but if you lack a DPS and have good supports already you should definitely go for ganyu/xiao they are amazing DPS and almost invincible with zhongli.

I saved for 3 months to splurge on raiden when she was first announced, signature weapon and C4. She’s absolutely one of my favourite units in the game, not because of how strong she is, but just because aesthetically, everything about her is so cool. Honestly it was just a bonus for me she happened to be a fantastic unit. If you want to just invest in her, I’d recommend it. I just recently double crowned her, and it’s just so much fun to use her in electro charged teams (specifically my tartaglia team because holy shit riptide procs with raiden skill are just SATISFIYING). Constellations or not, enjoy your raidens, because she’s a one of a kind unit even if she isn’t doing the big damage tm.
Extra damage from cons is nice, but even if she does way lower damage than she is now with C0, she would still have her standing in Raiden National since the reason she is so popular in the first place is the extreme comfort she provides to her team, and the damage buffs she gives them too. Good personal damage is sort of an extra package that I appreciate.
Ah this brings back memories the Shogun from 2.5 was my first five star I got from the banners and she still mains a lot of my teams today.
I'ma F2P I have her at c0 she's ridiculously powerful at c0 and borderline cheating if she gets even C2 or C3.
If C0 Raiden didn't do similar damage to other C0 hyper carries (Hu Tao, Xiao, Eula ) her hyper comp would not be a thing. She scales better with attack buffers(Bennett/Sara) because of her bloated damage stat(~200%) and decent MV.
I don't understand how Fischl can come anywhere close to Raiden's energy gen.They generate the same amount of electro particles from E skill but for other elements it's not even close because of the energy from burst.

I went for a C0 for Raiden because I wanted her synergy and ability to enable Eula to be ran on much lower ER. While I did go for C2 because I wanted her to be able to be ran as a main DPS when I don't feel like playing my other main DPS units, her support capabilities are the main thing that drew me to her; her damage was just a nice little bonus on the side of it all.
Yeah I agree, Raiden C0 can still secure Abyss 12 9 stars. It's just that I feel like if I had C2 I would need to restart less times and have more room for mistakes, but then it may turn way too much into lazy mode.
Only note about her C0 role is that she does take field-time, Raiden National is imo the best C0 team cause that opportunity cost is almost 0, you'd normally need many Bennett E's, but not with Raiden. There's no quickswap dps E spam to get in the way of either, Xinqiu gets all his stuff out the way, Xiangling doesn't need Guoba off cooldown and Bennett is also set and forget for Raiden's window, very smooth.

Even at the time where Raiden Shogun was firstly introduced in the game as a playable character, I already knew that she's gonna be a support character after I analyze her overall skill kit (constellations aside).
Her battery function alone in the team is already very good at most teams especially specific popular teams like Raiden National.

I felt compelled to buy the crystal packs once each before they reset during the game's first year, and have been actively stressing about how much money I might need to set aside just to get Yae and Raiden to a "comfortable" level for my account to keep up with Abyss. The misinformation spread by theorycrafters really complicates the decision-making process for so many F2P and low-spending players, given that most content creators spend at least some money for the sake of content creation. Compound this with the breakneck pace of reruns lately, it really can feel like MHY are trying to force people to spend just to keep up and get the things they want. The national team because all Liyue except bennet bit we gonna call it sntional anyway then the international team with childe, then rational team with raiden. Up next the multinational team and continental team.
It was apparently called national because its Chinese name translates to "The People's Team". Its was called that because the characters in the national team were all 4 stars and thus easily obtainable. Mistranslations resulted the People's Team to become "National" team.
A bit of neat trivia I suppose. But I guess some dude thought its because of all being from the same nation and ignored half of the characters being of different nations (Sucrose and Bennett)

That's a really cool outro 👌🏻 I don't have the shogun but I'm very excited. I'm at 72 pity, not guaranteed. I hope I'll win it and then I'll invest the other 10k + primos into a constellation. If i menage to get c1 and a guaranteed i whale for c2 that's for sure
i was actually really lucky and got c2 raiden as a f2p. i had initially saved many fates for kazuha but when i saw that kokomi replaced him, it sent me into a wishing frenzy. the first 10 pull had 2 raidens and like 30 pulls after, i got her a 3rd time.
As someone who has used raiden every single day since the first hour of her release, I feel I can say this. I know her constellation are good, but honestly my f2p built Raiden is doing 50k crit on burst and that's with 4 star artifacts and honestly I'm pretty much happy with that damage, it's not high for Abyss i know that but enough damage that allows me to fully utilise Raiden as a battery and take out a good chunk of enemy health. And honestly she doesn't need constellations to be good. C1 is the most useful for me as her stacks generate faster but honestly not needed at all, her national team gives her enough stacks to do considerable chunk of damage and fully utilise that mechanic.
As for Kokomi, I have her c1 and honestly she's a great healer. I ran the Clam dungeon until I got 4 HP% pieces for Clam set, took 10 runs, all 4 star artifacts and didn't even bother to raise them and still my Kokomi does 10k physical alongside her 2k autos at level 60. While also healing the team, her jellyfish pairs well with Raiden as well, constantly utilising the Raiden E skill.
To anyone who thinks both of these units suck, i mean you can choose whatever character you want to wish on, but if you ask me they are worth pulling for, especially Raiden if you like characters whose major damage is behind their burst. It takes time to adjust to them, and maxing out catch, but they're good.
Also some fun teams I use with Raiden and Kokomi
Yanfei, Raiden , and other 2 as your choice. Very fun to use and the overloaded reaction is not a downside as yanfei autos actually go far.
Raiden National team- Raiden, Xingqiu (I have him as sub dps healer here), Bennett (again as a healer), Xiangling (but I will switch her out with Sara if I get c2 Sara, I personally don't have time to switch to Xiangling in my rotation after I raised Bennett, but still very good team)
Raiden, Kokomi and other two slots flexible but I suggest 2 pyro characters specially Xiangling, as you can vaporize if you're into that.
Raiden, Childe, if you have him ofcourse, super weird to play on phone, PC play is normal either.
Kokomi Rosaria, Xiangling, and fourth slot maybe a Cryo if you want crit, but I would suggest Hydro like Xingqiu as he can increase Kokomi healings and damage.
Kokomi National team, I know not original, I haven't seen anyone play this either but it's fun, fun fact I have this exact team responsible for farming my Raiden artifacts, I recently got Zhongli so the team comp is Kokomi, Xiangling (with the Emblem set and catch, I steal Raiden artifacts), Bennet and Zhongli (that electro abyss mage is annoying to deal with that's why Zhongli and I suck at i framing on pc, otherwise Rosaria is much better if you're running lvl 70-80 domains), I was just doing the domain before commenting here.
Just see them, and try them on trial, and if you accidentally get them, make sure you use them, as an f2p I won't suggest you either waste your primos if you don't want them or spend a single dime. Have fun.
My Raiden is C0 with 6/8/8 talents and Yes, she can hit damage on par with C2 but the problem I have with it is, I need to set up the right combo for buffing damage e.g Bennett/Mona burst, TTDS (Sometimes not altogether) but enough buffers that it draws away these buffs I could be using on my 2nd abyss team. I completely agree that C2 isn’t needed, but its really a big bump in damage regardless, I’ve never 36 starred Abyss and average out about 33 stars, and I’m happy with that, because honestly I can’t be bothered to sweat hard enough to 36 star just for an extra 50 primos and 25K mora
If you are running c0 raiden I highly suggest using rational as that will perform much better. I would only suggest running raiden hypercarry if you have c2, kazuha, and c6 sara cause raiden herself will not be able to do enough damage to justify that comp. You can probably 36 star with rational and another team right now cause of how good it is.

I don't even used my raiden c1 with r5 catch 6 10 10 talents on abyss but still getting 36 stars.. ( I'm using sunfire national team ーyeah with jean, because I'm saving jean's dmg on my abyss history, feels so good to get it done by my main/fav char ingame ) so build your supports too for your overall dmg. ye shu It would take 10 weeks and 5 36-stars to get an extra 250 primos which is literally just a wish and 90 to spare, and that 125K mora is just 5K shy of spending 40 resin on a Leyline. I’m not F2P so I’m happy dropping a dollar/pound to save myself the headache of trying to get an extra 50 primos. I have my supports levelled and build, but I find Abyss as such a chore I just do 1 run and done, I’ll average 33 and be happy

I have skyward spine R1 and catch R5, so should i pull to get her signature lance or get C2? which is wise choice? I'm f2p and really want to get Kazuha as well. Ppl told that he need C2 too:((

3:48 also keep in mind raiden national with multiple enemies dps drops by 20k or so. I’d say the 3 best teams with the most dps for all scenarios are raifsh raikou, and raiden hyper carry.
Raiden C2 is like a C4/C5 in value then C3 is definitely C6 overall.
Yeah her first 3 cons are her best ones while the others are optional for added support stuff

this is a good vid. Im glad I dont need to worry bout c2 raiden now, but I have a question as a F2P then. I been saving for Raiden this whole time thinking she was "god tier" , but now that she is only "good". What would you reccomend to pull for as a "god tier F2P 5 star Ideal wishing unit" looks and preferences aside, just statistically the best F2P 5 star unit is all im asking.

My Raiden is F2P / C0. Her national team is no joke, you can 9 star her side of abyss with no problems! She is the best unit you can get for most of your teams at C0. I will try to get her C2 in this Re Run because I want that bit of extra damage and more versatility to use her in any team, without worrying about the burst cost of the paired units.

from my experience f2p childe national is stronger than f2p raiden national...but raiden team is more smooth tho and childe team is super duper satisfying
People think that because she is more popular on that team she is better.
You need c2r1 to be little better than Child + Kaz c0 on that team. (of course Child need some skill, Raiden don't)

It always comes down to this …. You’re fighting hilichurls and can beat every boss in the game with the base characters damage means nothing if a character is fun to play and allows new and interesting teams then just go for it nothing else matters
I'm gonna guess the reason people are freaking out about getting cons on Raiden is because her C2 is basically a C6 in terms of value. For example, Eula C6 is insane but it's C6 so nobody cares but since raidens C2/C3 also gives approximately the same value of Eula C6 most people get the impression that it's worth it because it's more realistic to get it as F2P.
I'm never gonna go for cons for any character because I prioritise new playstyles when compared to powerups. My Raiden does well enough to continue dealing DMG while my Eula has some downtime so their rotations are smooth af.
While the individual constellations are about the same level of value. A c2 Raiden is around a 50% increase in damage while a c6 Eula is closer to 250%. Eula's c6 is overkill but only because it is c6.
Both units are fine at c0. I would say that Raiden has more account value though (at c0). She is more flexible due to support abilities and 4* weapon options.
F2P here. Going to pull for her because Miyuki Sawashiro is one of my favorite voice actress and my Eula needs a friend. Geo daddy rejected my invetation and gave it to Anemo mommy, so I have guarantee 5* pull. Also I want to pair her with Beidou just to make people who say they are garbage together get mad.
Raiden doesn't work well with c0 Eula. In order to battery Eula you have to use Raiden's full burst which leads to Eula still not using her burst on CD due to the extended team rotation. That defeats the point of having a battery. Also, even with Raiden, Eula will need a second cryo character for additional energy if you want to build her with no ER. The comps works, but not particularly well when compared to other Eula comps. If you're Eula has some constellations it is less of an issue since you typically won't need a second rotation.
You are better off using Fischl with a c0 Eula as she provides a fair amount of extra energy without taking up field time. For either electro character though, you'd still need that second cryo battery (Diona or Rosaria are the best options).
That isn't to say getting Raiden would be a waste. She is, imo the second most valuable limited 5* for f2p and low spenders after Kazuha.
@@Nowaylarry I have a poorly build Rosaria (C2) and a poorly build Bennett (C3), since artifacts farming wants me to suffer and resin is laughing. In my most meta thinking, I prefer Fischl with Beidou, so Raiden will be the Electro friend of my Eula. In the end, I just want the character.
You're so right, I will pull her for her support capabilities and also her nuke, even at C0 hits over 100.000 with a little usual halp like Bennett. Even so, I'm more interested in her ability to empower other Ults like basically all the National units or Eula, and her energy regen that allows you to not care that much por ER or focus on more offensive stats on artifacts.

My c0 f2p raiden can deal a decent dmg of 216k and my burst's energy is always full so i think c0 raiden is not that bad...
The reason I want her because the energy she provides,which means my xianling can use dB an xinqiu can use lion roar without having to sacrifice too many stats on er because shogun can provide it for them which can boost my national team overal DPS.
This is part of why I don’t base my wishing decisions on what others say. I just go with who looks the most fun. We will find a way to make them work. I’m looking forward to Dehya’s guide!

Raiden at c0 is really good
oooo I want to pull for her upcoming rerun as a battery and additional damage. I want Zhongli, Ganyu, Raiden, and support (probably Kazuha cause he's my favorite or Bennett). Is this a good team? I also want to use her as support for Tighnari but I'm not sure if her skill applies electro... If she did, then it would be a nice addition to my Tighnari
I would say that Raiden at C0 is more of a sub-DPS that enables other 3 units in her team. She is that Character that buffs everyone's Ult by using skill, then lets those 3 to use their Ult and lastly uses her own Ult by dealing just respectable Dmg (in my case around 150k+ total) but most important is that she already filled everyone else's Ult, including herself.
