Hey, at some point are you going to finish the mini resort? You are pulling a cliff hanger, making us wonder what the outcome will be.🤔 You and Eric are making great progress on the new shop. 👏 Take care.
It is nice to see someone from Kansas on TH-cam. My brother lived in Derby for many years and I grew up in KCK but live in north GA now. Love your videos.
I get your dad's point on windows in a shop, but at the same time you have a residential / youtube shop and not a commercial business shop. I would go crazy working in there all day without seeing any natural light. The new ones look nice!
I like windows in my shop up high and covered with steel mesh so the engineering and mechanical mayhem doesn't break them. Good to have doors at both ends of a vehicle shop, you can work on things at both ends and drive trailers right through. I have a beam with a chain hoist and roller 6 feet in from the door, can pull an engine and have natural light while working on it.
Not going to lie I started out watching your channel for the car content but I kind of like the house stuff as well it's a mix-up and it keeps your channel from being boring and I'm just not going to lie about it you break it up and then you get back into working on cars and you get a new shop you know you show you the lifts going in and all that and I find it interesting I find it entertaining😊
When I was a kid my Dad installed one of those Genie door openers he got at Sears. That was back in 1982.. My friends were amazed by it... Didn't take much to impress back then...lol You're going to need at least 4 ton of a/c to cool that shop on a hot day.
Love the variety from your channel. You are a true American entrepreneur. Living the dream creating multiple income streams. Congratulations on all your success. With appreciation from 🇬🇧
Ahh, growing up in the Midwest in an air condition-less house and hearing the crickets, cicadas and frogs was certainly music to the ear falling asleep as a kid, plus the window fan.
Hey there JR, if its going to be a detail bay in the garage, maybe look into those hexagon led lights, they sure do help with paint corrections and PDR
Spray Foaming the inside of the Work Garage ceiling, will keep it quiet when it rains. If you re-roof the house in shingles, use Architectural Shingles. Way quieter when it rains, and extra insulation. If there is no drain on the floor of the house garage, get a couple of floor squeegees! Safety third!
That’s great but have you built a giant berm around the property? I agree windows on a shop are useless unless you need light or ventilation. If you have adequate lighting and condition the space you don’t need windows. Plus in tornado alley the less windows the better, you should build a tornado shelter under the shop though 😎
Couldn't agree more about the windows. The off-the-shelf windows from box stores are not great quality but will do for a work shop. I'm curious to see what color you are gonna repaint the shop. Great content!
Nice to see you finally getting a new set-up for your work area. It’s definitely a process for sure. Looking forward to much more automobile content in the future!
Hey JR - When you have the opportunity could you post a link to the lights you are using in the house garage? Also, forgive me if this is a moot question, do the lights you are installing cause IR interference with your garage door opener remote signal? My current Barrina LED lights do cause interference with my three year old Chamberlain ceiling mounted MyQ enabled openers so I need to be mindful where the lighting strips are installed. Thanks -
If you still have those window A/C units, cut a hole in the man door you're going to replace with a garage door, and you'll have aircon in your garage temporarily.
JR, you need to have the circuit breaker panel in your home replaced ASAP. It’s a Federal Pacific panel and they’re extremely dangerous and cause fires
JR, I love your videos and admire all your skills and talent. None of my business, but I'm curious; do you compensate your buddies or do they help you out of the kindness of their hearts?
Lots of work getting done. Totally agree with removing those two windows, it I would put another door there and delete the one on the far right. Would bring a little more symmetry to the front. Just a thought.
6:20 get some 2k frost window spay paint then you still get the light but no one can look in and you can still put up blinds/curtains to block the light when needed...
I agree with no windows. I have a 30x60 and it only has the frosted skylights which make it daytime bright with no lights on during the day. Only time I wish I had windows is so I could hang a window AC unit in one during the summer.
@@glassvial Most shops have vent fans at the peak of the far wall from door, or roof vent fans. Exhaust gases rise, ya know. Opening windows won't do it as there's no cross ventilation, no windows on the opposite side. Just saying.
This shop and home is a much more suitable space compared to the massive behemoth from before. Don't mind the cricket at all, but those train horns blow. VT247
I'm with eric on the marketing driven over flashing of everything these days. Flashing over flashing over flashing. I regularly pull 50yo windows in a rain driven area right on the coast in New England without anything but a few pieces of tar paper over them and see zero rot and most of the time no water staining at all. These companies are trying to convince us to buy more stuff.
New windows make a huge difference. When we bought this house 10 years ago it had new double payne vinyl windows and it is so tight and quiet it uses less energy and was super easy to sleep. The old rental had blown aluminum windows and it was like sitting there with them open. Keep moving forward, it's going to be awesome.
It’s a lot harder to get projects done when you have 12 to 18 hours realistically on the weekends. It would take more than a month to be where you are now by myself.
windows are good for ventilation when it's not to hot or cold out. garage doors open and windows open should let the air move. Need to add a shower and bathroom in your shop that way you are not all dirty walking thru the house to go use the shower. It will help keep the house cleaner.
I can't believe how much you've done! WOW! Looking real good. I can't wait to see your next video. I love your property. When you are done it will be a man's fantasy land :-)

Probably has to prioritize to get the spray foam guys in and back to the resort after that if I were to guess
Think it's already done pretty much
@@robertm5969 They still need to install the kitchen and bathroom etc.
Yes, watch Eric work!
Nice project, good update. Looks like a good set up for shop, house.

I'm pretty sure his family has a decent amount of money. Must be nice.

Hard work is quickly producing results. Hope to see more of the mini resort soon too!
TOTALLY COOL Interior on the truck!
Loving the daily uploads. Thanks!
I like seeing the new place, but i really would like to see the mini resort painted, the deck, and the bathroom and house finished. G-d bless.

Solid upgrades! I agree with the window theory,...unless it is a front office. Excellent content and I look forward to future content.

The new shop and the new garage are turning out great!
When I have a multi stepped, big project, I procrastinate between each step. JR just goes full tilt until done!! I wish I had that energy🤣
THis is the best site on TH-cam.. So inspiring!
God bless you. Bro as long as you can do it . Keep going man .
Can't wait to see what the new shop turns into. Your old shop in Derby was awesome just a little bit too big 😊
Nothing wrong with windows in a garage, lots of natural light and can open to let some air out

Reflective tint is great for daytime if people are trying to look in
Broken windows, no gloves, no wrist guards, Safety Third, i suppose
So excited for you. This place is going to look great.
i love your videos and i look forward to them, please never stop doing them.
Good work! I can’t even believe how much “house” you got for the money. Epic score!
Good to see the place coming together. Can’t wait to see you get the warehouse prepped for AC!
We leave our windows open this time of year at night. The crickets and frogs are sleeping music.

The "resort" house: "Gah, this spray insulation is terrible!"
The new shop: "We're ready for spray insulation!" 😋
Keep on getting things done JR/Eric and crew!
Starting to think the mini resort really has been abandoned. 😩
The whole channel has been abandoned.
