    One thing, JR, before you redo that concrete at the back of the house: when the old slab gets ripped up, but before the new one is poured, you might want to think about running some conduit between the house and the shop to pull fiber through to give an Internet connection in the shop (with ethernet switches and fiber converters on each end, plus your APs for the shop).

      Just find the condensation on all the uncovered steel when you run heat in winter.

    7:30 Speaking of Floor Drains, I have seen garages where it snows, and they have grates (drains) that run the length of the opening to catch the melted snow and rain water.

    • @drewdaskievige754
      @drewdaskievige754 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Have seen that done back in 50-60's, Concrete and the steel grates. Outdoor ones you would have to worry about getting clogged. After 20- 30 years depending how thick concrete was it starts breaking apart, specially for cold winter areas. Now days it seems like bed of concrete and half or 3/4 piece of PVC pipe imbedded in concrete for outdoors, indoors i've seen just an open channel along the walls and the floors angled to shed the water to it.

      thats if your not using a drain in the middle of the floor.

    Sherwin Williams' "attitude gray" on both buildings with white trim, the emerald top of the line version ( You won't need to pressure wash clean it yearly). It changes colors slightly as the light of the day changes. You won't regret it.

    You should paint the roof of your shop with a heat reflective paint and paint the shop white. This will aid in keeping the building cooler and save you money over the long run as you don't have to jack the AC up all the time to keep the building cool.

  • @CR7659

    Being in batt insulation for over 10 years, I love it when people decide to spray foam their pole barns.
    If it isn’t framed correctly it’s a nightmare to get batts to stay in place and work with.
    If framed correctly it’s a super easy job but inevitably owners don’t want to spend the extra time and money to frame it just right.

So I hired it out, and I'll never use another kind of insulation ever. It keeps rooms warm in the winter with little heat input but more importantly it will keep a room extremely cool in the summer. I think that is one of its best features. Would highly recommend if anyone is on the fence about using it.

Please check out the colors and don't base anything on the names of the paint. Progress is moving right along. If you use black paint on the trim of your house, it will fade quickly and probably look uneven in color. A soft to medium gray would last longer. Stay safe and get some sleep. Have a great week. 😎
