Gundam Unicorn (PS3): All (Free) Vs. DLC stages (Hard Mode)

- This is just a simple test of HD video uploading. No commentary, just gameplay of all 6 currently available "vs. Solo MS" DLC stages in the game. All of these stages are available for free on the Japanese PSN, so they're pretty easy to get. All fights are done on Hard difficulty, with a fully upgraded Banager, a half upgraded Unicorn (Standard type), and a fully upgraded Beam Magnum.
Stage Order:
Vs. Sinanju Stein, Full Frontal (DLC Set 1)
Vs. ReZel A-Defensor, Norm Basilicock (DLC Set 2)
Vs. ReZel B-Defensor, Riddhe Marcenas (DLC Set 2)

To the tons of people wondering, this game is on PS3 and is region free, but you must import it (I got my copy from AmiAmi), and it is in Japanese only.
I can tell that FromSoftware really refined the combat style of Armored core in this with more melee clashes, finishers and dynamic camera angles. It just gets me more excited about AC6. Just sucks that all their mecha games are so hard to get.

If you have a PS3 or Xbox 360, only Verdict Day is available. Though apparently the series got rebooted 3 times. The PS1 games are one timeline. Same for the PS2 games as they got reboot. The PS3/360 games got 4 games yet two reboots with 4 and FV are in one story while V ans VD are from a different reboot.
So it shouldn't be hard to get into, sorta. Just know if you think it's like the Souls games, we'll prepare to suffer, sweet summer child!

Clean HUD, Generation-defying visuals, and lightning-fast gameplay! This game needs to be remastered and/or repurposed for current Gundam series. It's a hidden gem reminiscent of Armored Core 4/For Answer!!!

Funny enough, Fromsoft actually developed this game.
Sadly the combat and momentum in AC4/ACFA was more smooth and organic. Gundam Unicorn's gameplay is filled with constant, I guess you call them "micro interruptions".
Armored Core 6 is more Gundam Unicorn than Armored Core tbh
This was made by FROM SOFTWARE!? When I saw AC6, I was so intrigued that I said, “This! This is THE mecha game I’ve been looking for”. None of the Gundam games scratched that itch but this! Holy hell…. nah Bamco needs to get FS to make another Gundam game that plays like AC6.
The AC series makes up about half or a bit over half of all the Mecha games From Software have made since the original Armored Core in 1997. They've kept themselves going on these kinds of games while experimenting in many other genres over the years, with Souls managing to strike a chord and bring the From Soft general game experience to a wider audience. I do wish I could take a glimpse into the alternate reality where the Echo Night series was a breakthrough franchise for them, though.

I think this is the best combat gameplay for gundam game, why don't they invest more on this ? This is so epic...
Its only lack of npc gundams, the space looks too empty, but the combat style is the best...

Yes, it's a beefed up original beam rifle noise from MS Gundam. It's both iconic and new at the same time and sounds beautiful.

One of the best Gundam game ever made. The game mechanic was done so right and fit how UC era gundam should be portrayed in the game.
Too bad it cover the Unicorn story up until EP3. It would be great if they do the sequel of this and add more MS such as Banshee, or Neo Zeong
Thanks for translating these. My Japanese knowledge is quite limited, so it's nice to get these bits of dialogue translated so I know more about the plot (what little there is here).

No. The game is exclusive in japan
reasons why:
1. mecha games don't sell well that much anymore in the west.
2. everyone prefers more simpler games like cod.
3. the fps market dominates the west.
It would be nice for japan to release the game here though.
You have immediate access to all the free DLC you download. It's under the Special tab in Unicorn Mode.

Funny, I haven't heard a thing about the game being re-released. But it could be a recent announcement. Although it will probably be quite some time considering they did announce an episode 7 for the OVA.
Amuro and Char doesn't mind getting their weapons overridden, they're pro enough to take them all.
Amuro does mention that he can feel Banager is a Newtype, and he recognizes the Unicorn as a new type of Gundam, so it could be some kinda alternate universe episode or something. Still pretty sure its just a simulation
I think it's called "Full-Frontal" from the first original series soundtrack. Awesome soundtrack as a whole, you should find a way to get it.

So sad, I’ve just found out about this game today. It’s absolutely amazing. Can’t believe they gave the US crossfire with its terrible frame rate and not this.
Well, they have said they plan to re-release the game with the rest of the content from the OVA when the series ends next year, so chances are that they'll include things like the Banshee then.
I'd like to know that to. I can't seem to find anything like an ost or tracklist for the game. It sounds like such a kickass song.

the game is DLC missions heavy. so unless you have a japanese psn account. the game is relatively short for that reason.

I have a question.I recently got this game and I can't figure out how to do Full frontals first mission. I destroy all the mobile suits then destroy the war ship. I've also tried destroying the ship right away and every time i destroy the ship i get a game over. I've also tried killing all Ms's and jsut waiting.. and nothing happened either.

I'm not entirely sure. I don't know a whole lot of Japanese (I can pick up bits and pieces here and there), but I would assume that it's a simulation based on whatever information is actually known, so... I don't know.

I haven't heard anything about Banshee being released as DLC for this game, actually. It would be great, but I'm not expecting anything.
Yeah, Char did especially well, funnels or no. He got me down pretty far compared to everyone else.
Such a shame they never completed the series or at least release the scenarios as DLC would have loved to have got a Torrington base invasion scenarios. Last stand of zeon DLC attck of the Shamblo, escape from earth orbit verses the banshee, and finally the race for Laplace box. I know gundam online has now updated to uc 96 but a console conclusion thats not DWGundam reborn (which i like by the way just not over this)really needs to be done. Heck release it as "Side stories" DLC if they have to.

They were confirmed dead in a comic that was released a while back.
It's similar to the PS2 ACE games in its controls, but a bit more complex in a good way. Overall, I feel like the game is good, but way too short.

There should have been a DLC that included Kou Uraki and Anavel Gato as enemy stages.
Kou would be piloting the GP-01 Zephyranthes "Full Vernien"
Gato would be in the GP-02.

Bandai Namco should Remaster this games, put it on current consoles & PC port platform. It will make more money more so than recent BS gundam games we got.
FromSoftware developed it so they would have to remaster it, and I doubt they would make back what they invested to remaster and relicense. Just get a PS3 and play it.
