I'm a road rider too, but bought a CRF250L last year for green lanes, just to give it a go. Great fun, much more capable than me, and 250 / 300 is all you need. It's good fun on the road too. Bit like a revvy waterbed with the standard shock. The bikes are so reliable and well built that you could just use one on the road over winter as a winter hack. Keep up the good work.
Good stuff. Too many reviews of the CRF concentrate on what the bike isn't (ie some sort if hairy chested enduro) rather than what it is - a mildish beginner friendly green laner with plenty of potential for upgrading as experience and ability increase. Enjoyed your comment on the exhaust too, if you're actually going on to green lanes you'll come into contact with allsorts of other users and livestock etc, why spoil their day..
@@All_SportGG Let me guess, you're a middle aged man that likes to spend your time on and is completely ecstatic about watching girls on a motorcycle while driving one yourself and seeking adventure is the real thing but you're afraid to do so...
The CRF is a cracking trail bike for both new and more experienced trail riders. I love my Tuareg 660 out on the trails, but I'd very much suggest anyone wanting to get into green laning, to do so on a lighter lower powered motorcycle like the CRF... and it is perfectly capable on tarmac at maintaing the speed limits between the trails.
I would love to have one for green laning. But my 200+kg. Swiss Army Transalp with 50/50 tyres does the job too! And yes, it does improve your handling skills immensely.
Well Dan. I've been enjoying your videos for some time now, but this may have been my favourite! Thoroughly informative and delightfully entertaining. Props for going out in the snow and testing your skills green-laning too. Really connected with every moment. Thank you! 👏👏👏
Good bike but I prefer the CRF300L. The Rally looks nothing like the HRC bike. The only time I rode in snow, and it was deep, was in Southend in 1993, where I was living at the time. Just for fun. And on my MZ ETZ 301. What a bike that was. Like a tank.
love the videos. I always check your channel before I decide to buy a bike. As a matter of fact I had this bike for a while and I loved it. You forgot to mention the viewers that there is a secret storage space on the lest side near the back passenger bit is. Also, the first gears are a little clunky and the bike doesn't like you to lower gears so harshly. The left side there is a single radiator which heats-up your leg a lot. In the summer time its not so nice. Overall its amazing. The best exhaust system that works with this bike is the GPR and FMF exhaust system. If you are planning to use this bike for 2 people, dont buy it because its very uncomfortable for the person sitting at the back. Fuel economy is great aswell. Hope everyone finds this information usefull.
I love the CRF250, 300s. My first big bike was an XL250R which was the predecessor of the CRF250L. Mine had a big sprocket on the rear so I could hang wheelies endlessly as you could do back in the day. 🤪
I've been waiting forever for you to do some off road adventures on a proper bike. I have a 2017 250L Rally and I love this stuff! I also want to see more of this on your channel.
I know, that my suggestion now is on the other end of the scale, that you use to ride. But would love to see you test ride a little Honda Grom. The thing is crazy slow, but at the same time it’s so fun to ride, cause it’s so small and flickebel
that looked like so much fun. It's a shame Germany doesn't allow any half-proper trail riding, not on a motorcycle at least. Next best thing is to take the 300L and then Sumo-Convert the whole thing, but that's gonna be expensive af to do over here.
to be fair, if you lived in Germany an aftermarket can only really improves the sound. Because it's not allowed to be louder than stock anyway. So I'd say a proper aftermarket slipon with the dbkiller inside would make the bike even nicer.
Sadly not adjustable either, my high beam points way off and the Honda dealers basically told me tough luck pal awful people, I’ll never buy a new Honda again
I’m 6 foot and just under 17 stone and it bottomed out way to easy. I fitted a Nitron rear shock like peak motorcycles you tuber did and it transformed it
Respect for getting out in the snow. Perfect bike for todays crowded, potholed roads.

The CRF300 is a very good bike for A2 Riders. I know a person who rides this bike and they love it. Great Review mate, keep it up!
you're riding Alaska!
No he's riding a Honda

Nice one Dan! A brave review out in the snow. At 153kg i can see why this is an ever popular adventure bike. Cheers
I’ve been seeing this bike in the Sahara, Morocco, recently. Nice to see it can do snow too !

I've got a 250 Rally and recently had the chance to ride the 300, felt way more refined.
Great bike overall really feels so fun to ride!
Really ? My 250 is pretty well mannered.

Yeah, I have one coming soon. And the Dax!
"Shorty at 5'8"... I'm a fckin dwarf at 5'3 then 😂😂
I must be as well with only a 27” inseam. The only decent bike I can flat foot is my MT 03, great bike.

The CRF rally actually has a different frame , it's not just 300L with a windscreen .
Is it?@@leeinwis
thanks for making your video's with a smile!!!
Another great video , scary yet fun in the snow … well done for getting out in it.
OMG the seat must be lovly to sit on.
Nice, many thanks !
The headlights make the bike look like robin williams character in the cartoon movie Robots 😂

That's devotion right there! I'd love to see how well the bike performs in "proper" off road as well. :>)
Is the gearing for rally longer than other models? Or just same engine. I mean for the street we need longer gearings.
6th is a overdrive gear.
Want to try one, but dealers can’t get them, concerned rear suspension too soft I’m 6,2 and 20 st
Just swap out the shock spring for one that matches your weight. Only about £100 for a much better spring.
@@DanTube2010 wanted to sit on one initially to see if I like it, wanting something a little smaller and lighter than current F800GS
