Thank you for this video. I have the same dryer and could not figure out what was causing the noises. Thanks to this video, I was able to fix it. Keep up the great work!
I am trying to fix my dryer, it's the same unit from what i read and see online. Kenmore, old 1995 model . I have replaced the felt glide and the other felt strip that were on my door, but you had what looks like a plastic strip that went around the front of your drum too? (Not the belt, I replaced that). I don't see that part listed in my parts diagrams, so maybe that's something put in newer models. I am having trouble getting my door back on, trying to keep the drum just right so I can fit it together. I have propped it , said a few bad words, and taking a break to find videos that may give me a clue.I really appreciate repair videos, thank you for posting. Each one I watch helps me a little more to get intimate with the inner workings of my dryer. Repair guy in my small town is understaffed and overwhelmed.
Heard what I assume is the dryer belt snap on my Frigidaire stacked combo, don’t really have room to go at it from the back so seeing your video of servicing from the front is good motivation.
Hey bud, thanks for posting this! Bailed me out big time! I got hung up on 'install bearing cup, put shaft on back of drum, install'...your method of putting it in the cup and THEN attaching drum worked awesome! I still had to pull the thing out to replace that cup, but the re-install was killing me. Glad you put this up!
Say, I tried cleaning lint and build up inside the dryer drum. I unfortunately took the 3 metal center screws off & can't align them. Any clue as how to realign. Thx. Much. The metal plate is aligned but not the center. How do I fix. I didn't take the entire front off. Thx .🙄
THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR SHARING THIS!!!! Where do you get the inserts to put on the edge of the dryer drum? I have my dryer taken apart, but not sure where I can get those strips & are they plastic or metal. Thank you again.
I have exactly the same machine. You did a fantastic job on the repair. I don't like touching any thing I don't know about! But after your vidio I'd give it a whirl!
So epic! These things aren't that hard if you just take your time, BE CAREFUL, learn some basics, then boom, you fix you're own stuff! Please let us know how it goes!
Thank you so much for this video! We have the exact same washer/dryer combo and we’re having the same issue with the dryer/pulley. Do you happen to remember what pulley part you used to replace the old one?
My dryer just got the belt loose from the motor pulley. It was easy to put back on it and still works. The video helped a lot on how to get it back on place. Thanks again.
cool. I've built the same idea cabinet shelves making them similar to the old antique stuff! Now we're here to wonder why we got a quiet thump beating in rhythm every time in/on the rotation of the drum! and a squeak!..the drum support bearing why not/while we're at it..parts to order? me we got a campfire stone surround pit! but oui recycle!
Hello. Your video has helped me fix my dryer. However, I have a question. My dryer won't start now. I was wondering if you could see if there is something I need to check. I am not sure what it would be, probably shocked a wire possibly? idk. Thanks!
When you say won't start. Are you saying the element doesn't get hot? The motor won't turn? I would suggest looking at the switch on the door. You can open the door, manually hold in that switch and check to see if it works. If not then you'll have to check each piece. The push button switch, the door switch, after that I'm not sure.
Have you had any problems with your dryer heating up but will not dry clothes? If so how did you repair it. Also from your question in the video if I would guess it could cost from 100 to 400 to have someone come there and repair it.
I'd focus on the motor and air path for the dryer. There is a motor that blows air across the heating element then into the drum. The exhaust starts at the front of the dryer and allows the hot air a way out the back of the unit. I would ensure all that is very clean. There is also a "seal" between the motor and the internal duct work. This seal could be "Leaking" air. This could cause not enough air to be moving through the dryer. How is the air output coming out of the driver exhaust? Do you have "good" air flow?
What was the the name of the parts you snapped on around the front of the drum or if you don't know what the name is for them would you happen to know or remember the part no. I'm pretty sure that's the issue with mine that also has that wobble in the front you had before putting those new ones on it.
I think you are talking about the drum "glides", 131963900, www.amazon.com/s?k=131963900&crid=QWJ1SGKGEDHD&sprefix=131963900%2Caps%2C91&ref=nb_sb_noss_1
The red wire that has black stripe , bought used and that wire is just hanging and Ur video is the closest I've come to figuring out where this wire connects to. Can you please help me figure where this wire goes? Thanks
I have a frigidaire stackable washer and dryer the dryer doesn't want to work when i press the start button it beeps twice and does nothing. I need help please
Sorry bud, I have no ideas. I would have to know a lot more. I only guess at my repairs, lol. I do the best I can to determine what is wrong, order parts, and hope it works. I wouldn't even know where to suggest you start with yours.
Mine went from Timed Dry to Automatic Dry without stopping at Off position. Then when I tried to dry next load buzzer stayed on as long as I kept my finger on Start button and would not work anymore. Did you fix yours?
Hi good morning. I have a GE gas dryer that digital readings on , when I turn it on the digital reading goes on and ma,es it cycle but the drum would not turn on .I tried to put the dryer on the test mode but it would not go to test mode.thanks for your advise.
Hi there, I’m trying to find the heater(element) for whirlpool twins drying model Ylte5243dq0 but I can’t find this model can you please help me with this Thank you
I would suggest two things. First let me say. I'm not a repairman, however I do play one in real life. Now I would suggest changing out the front glide strips, www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07QZ4FS38/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1, and the rear bearing, www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005B9DP4I/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1. This would pretty much guarantee your drum will be aligned. Assuming that the drum is not warped and the parts were installed properly. Wish you the best!
That is a shame. I am 77 years old and my washer timer has gone out. If I could disassemble it I could replace it. I have found a great site GRP that has the original parts (not as good as) like most sites. I have bought the part, but now I have to figure out how to open up that area, so I can replace. I bought my combination w/dryer in 2000 and love it. My normal repairman that deals with old washer/dryer combos has retired. I have not found a person that will come out and fix my combination. I also have to replace my Drum seal it has gotten worn out. So much and so little experience. Thank you for your quick answer though.
There's a fitting on the back of that shaft shaft that goes through to the the plate that you screw in the 4 screws that holds the drum on the opposite side of the drum. that plate there's like a bearing and you have to replace it .it's worn out that's why your drum is wobbling so you gotta go through the backside or the top
Just so you know: some of these units do not have a clip to hold on the belt tensioner wheel to the bracket, belt will hold it on correctly without coming off, just crazy i know but i have seen many of these no keeper clip on it...
Don't buy what? The dryer? I've really enjoyed my dryer and I am liking it even more now I'm getting more comfortable with its components. If you like being able to fix your own appliances, this is a great unit. It's very easy to work on if it was to break.
Thank you. My dad has the exact same dryer and your video was Extremely helpful. 👏👏👏👏👍

Most excellent!

No problem. I literally just recorded it and threw it up. LOL, it's one of my most watched videos and I'm not sure why.
@@cannonfarm ; because it's helpful...:-}
Your video helped me save $150 today…
Most excellent!
You sound like me lol excited to work on it. Mine started making a grinding noise when the dryer is on.
Did you get it fixed?
@@cannonfarm not yet.. order the pulley hope it fits it. Different model number but looked like the same part. Only one like mine and urs would fit it

You can access the idle pulley from the back if you can move your dryer. Would save a lot of time.

What is the part that holds the idler pulley off the other pulley? I’m missing that part and idk what it looks like or anything
Buena explicación 👍 muchas gracias
Those the dryer have a moisture sensor?
Could you please help me with the timer wiring.........bought a reconditioned replacement and do not know how to wire it. thank you so much.

I did exactly what you did for my dryer belt and pulley, started it up amd it seems like the belt is loose so that possible?
Awesome Video!! Very Informative!! Great Job!!
Oh and I forgot to ask where did you order your parts
I order just about everything from Amazon. Look up manual for FEX831CS0, get part numbers, then search Amazon.
Does anyone have a problem with the washer not filling with enough water? My clothes are still dry on top and not washing
Can you post a video on removing and cleaning the washer wash plate?
I will if I ever need to do it but I'm just a guy that posted a video of me fixing my own stuff. I'm not an appliance repair guy.
Helpful in the short term but Did you replace the element yet?🤔
I had replaced the element and supporting items about a year before this repair. This was before I had the channel.

Make sure the drum is setting inside the door frame. Other than that, it should just go on?
I have a Frigidaire FLX831CSO That looks like yours. Do you know where I can get a repair manual for it?
I do not. I just repair my stuff by tearing it apart and figuring it out as I go. LOL

that dryer drum just pop it up off the bearing saddle by lifting it up and out... no need to unbolt it from the dryer drum...

like mine. It's shaft is long enough that belt tension is enough to holt the pulley.
What the brand
first thing is unplug power, then remove that door off the dryer. so much easier to remove the front panel without that door on it believe me...
How can I contact you supermen😇
